I spoke with Diana over the phone to ask about x-ray prices and she proceeded to tell me ..how people don't understand that it cost vet hospital money to take X-rays as well as people just think we slap the dog down and take pictures. She was so unprofessional and rude and her comments where so unnecessary. Sad I used to use story rd animal as a primary place for my dogs. I can see they have poor choice in staff now. Moving on try Ark Vet hospital on 10th st . Apparently it cost story rd $500 to take a x-ray and 10th St ARK vet is only $270 Horrible customer service over the phone maybe cause it was 30 minute to close but that really don't give you the right to say things to people who didn't ask for your opinion just wanted a price

Well where do I start..We have an appointment so they send a text to remind you..the text has wrong name and time. So I call back to confirm..she said come in at 830 .And I did only to wait outside for a half hour because they were in a meeting...that's not exceptable to me.. I even had another girl tell me why didn't they have you come in earlier...my response was why so I can stand outside and wait ...time to look for a new Vet

Scheduled an appointment to get my foster kittens their FVRCP boosters. The receptionist neglected to tell me that they could not vaccinate the kittens without a physical exam, which would cost $67 per cat. Even after I was willing to pay the exorbitant physical exam fee, they refused to give me the boosters. I wasted an entire stressful morning trying to get my fosters to the vet only to find out I could not even get what I came for.

Most amazing customer service ever! I highly recommend this animal hospital! Rebekah, who took my call at this location was very calm, happy, and not in a hurry to provide the answers to all of the questions I had! We did multiple things on this phone call and got several appointments in place for my dog! Upon your visits here, you will receive a phone call and an email notification for a reminder of your up coming appointments! Dr. Glenn is one of the kindest people I have ever met! The entire staff and Nani where outstanding! My dog has an extreme amount of high energy and nerves all at the same time! They handled Duke with such care and grace! I was running a few minutes late and called, Lori picked up the phone and thanked me for calling and said it would not be a problem! Upon exiting, there where multiple big dogs in the front lobby, the staff was so hands on at how to ensure each of the dogs felt safe and the owners too!!!! I have no doubt in my mind the entire staff here loves dogs! Duke and I had a great first experience and I feel extremely comfortable with bringing Duke back here for life! I must say I was a little embarrassed about Duke's excitement, but the staff never made me feel any type of way! That was very comforting to me! We are all caught up on shots and I'm looking forward to boarding him for the first time here this coming week! Thank you to everyone here, it's truly a pleasure to have such a marvelous experience!

Went to the doctor just to get my dogs leg checked he had a small cut on the back of the leg the veterinarian was being rude and disrespectful to my mother telling her what happened to the dog is our fault and how we should be better owners. when i asked to speak to her she was flexing that she was right and how i don't know anything keept saying "im a doctor i know your dog has been fighting other dogs" like what lady. The dog dont even leave my house hasnt even been near a dog in years. Also she charged me for examination without working with me to see what we can be a better option she kept going for amputation sarah mihalek the veterinarian is clearly having some serious personal issues of her own she needs to fix before animals......... This update is for the doctor sarah dude your horrible advice is what saved me decided to buy medication off chewy for a reasonable price wow you telling me you wanted to remove his leg for a small gash. Saved me so much money wow i hope you have your life together ???????? dog is fine by the way running now not that you care lmao find a new profession because caring for other things isn't for you....ps if you wanna go here i recommend to speak with another doctor if not i took my dog to wagly he is a 11 yr old german shepherd they treated him well and very cool environment

Dr. Peterman is the best! He is so kind to all his "little and Big" patients. We call him the "Dog Whisper-er"! When he starts talking to my dogs, they calm down and he is so good to them. He has the best Staff supporting him and they take good care of the "parents" of the patients. They are all terrific people! Thank you Story Road Animal Hospital!

Long wait times. Bad communication with office staff. Last minute cancellation with surgery with no warning. I have been taking my pets here off and on the last several years. My 15 year old Lhasa Apso was schedule to have ear polyps removed and the appointment was confirmed with the office staff member, Mariana 10 days prior. I was already hesitant to schedule him because of his age and factoring in general anesthesia, but I wanted to focus on things that were comfort related to give him some quality of life in his final months. This was Dr. Weiner's recommendation. Our appointment time was 10am, drop off. We were on time and called into the office to check in after we parked in the rear. We did not get seen until 11am and Diana, one of the workers was surprised that I was dropping him off for surgery today, and told me they were understaffed and would check with the doctor to see if they could even do it today. We were denied and asked to come back next week. Diana did listen to my grievances, was apologetic, and ask me to come back next week and be provided a discount. I declined because of today's experience and previous experiences; the office staff couldn't even spell my name right and got my address wrong. I had already take the day off to prepare for this and the overall customer service from today just topped it off. This office really needs to get it together all across the board : staffing, communication, scheduling, professionalism. The list goes on.

I always feel confident bringing my pets to be seen by Dr Peterman. Even my dogs trust him very much. They do not get anxious or estressful when they are checked or taken to another room for a test.

I had previously been told by a pet store groomer that my dog needed to be sedated because of her behavior and they couldn’t groom her. I took her to Story Road Animal Hospital and she was groomed without sedation. The groomer was great with my dog. A+

I’ve been coming to this Vet for about 30 years now and have always been pleased with the treatment my future babies get. I trust them implicitly.

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would! When I first got my dog her regular hospital was Alum Rock Animal Hospital, & we were perfectly happy with that being her regular place considering the one emergency we had when she was stung by a bee they handled VERY well and actually saved her life. NOW, when we moved we switched her over to Story Road hospital which is where all the horrors begun. From the beginning it was nothing but misdiagnosis’ and more MONEY. We had an unfortunate accident with my dog falling off my moms shoulder, which led to SEVERAL FAILED surgeries, and countless reassurances that my dog leg was going to be fine, and after over a YEAR with a cast on her leg, they took it off and her back leg was just dangling there, when asked if it hurts her and why it looked like that they told me that there was a lot of bone loss but that she wasn’t in any pain and that’s just how her leg was now? Not even touching the floor all the way, flapping every which direction when she ran, it just didn’t seem right. After paying ALL that money for all those tests her leg looked like a science experiment, so I decided to take her to get a second opinion, and when I did the other doctor I met with said her leg was STILL SEVERELY broken and yes she was indeed very much in pain because it was just dangling there.. after ALL that, I was told my dogs leg had to be amputated. My 4 pound poodle suffered through all that for her leg to still be cut off. An almost 2 year process for this to happen, anyways. How inhumane. The fact that I’ve also had issues with Dr. Winer sharing personal information with other patients. My grandparents have been taking their dogs here for years aswell (who have also been misdiagnosed several times) and my dogs doctor felt it was okay to give information about her medical state to my grandmother when she went to pick up her dog. To some people that might not be a big deal but it’s just the same as sharing someone’s medical information with someone else. It’s not okay. My grandma can be a bit dramatic and when given my dogs health issues by her doctor she called us SO frantic and upset about something we had actually tried to keep from her. My grandma didn’t know my dogs leg needed to be amputated at that time yet and at that point neither had i. I had heard it first had from my grandma through MY dogs doctor. Whom he had no business sharing her medical information about. About a month ago my dog had a really REALLY bad hack and when I begged my mom specifically not to take her to Story Road animal hospital she did it anyways. Leading to more misdiagnosed problems and just them wanting money. When bringing my dog back out to me they said, “She had bronchitis“ and then wanted $300. When asking how they came to that conclusion they simply said, “we listened to her chest. And she has a hole in her heart.” But they didn’t take any xrays, not stool samples, no blood work, NOTHING other than “listening to her chest.” Then they wanted to to bring her back for a sonograph, and X-ray, and a radiograph. Which in terms would lead to MORE money! I paid $150 for antibiotics for her to be on for almost 3 weeks, which didn’t seem to help her cough at all until it went away on its own. Now a month later her hack is BACK and I’ll be damned if I take her to this hospital. So unprofessional and rude. I’m over the misdiagnosed problems and the suffering of my poor animal. My grandmas dog has lived with a hack like this for YEARS and they just kept telling her the dog was overweight, come to find out the dog had a heart valve problem that was diagnosed CORRECTLY the first time he was taken to Alum Rock. Please do NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!! I’m begging. If you love your pet you won’t bring them here. UPDATE: I took my dog to another hospital and the ACTUAL reasons for her hacking were finally revealed to us, just to further out suspicions that Story Road Animal Hospital doesn’t know anything. Every time I took my dog in they gave her antibiotics for “bronchitis” or “pneumonia” or “a collapsed lung. WRONG!

My husband and I have been using this animal hospital for a long time. They’ve always done what is best for our pets. When we recently lost our Ruby, they were extremely compassionate. We now have a new fur baby and I wouldn’t trust her with anyone else!

I have a sick pet. I called told them my kitty was dehydrated. They said they are a hospital but said they didn't have appts until 5 days later. I think this is substandard to a vetinarian hospital. I know Covid is an issue. But I think they could have squeased me in for an appt. What an uncaring animal hospital. My initial contact wasn't very friendly or pro patient either a huge disappointment. Think about bringing your buddy hete...sad...

I heard how awesome Dr. Peterman was and he exceeded my expectations. Our Maltese is a handful, yet his assistant was so sweet with her Maui let her carry her like a baby. The COVID-19 precautions didn’t prevent getting everything done and communications were exceptional.

Dr. Peterman has been our vet for over 15 years for our current and past dogs. He is well-established and has been in Irving for quite some time. He is exceptionally competent, and has provided sound, well-thought out clinical decisions that have saved out dogs several times over. There were times surgery was needed for complicated problems and there were times when he intervened and kept us from doing unnecessary surgeries and procedures. Our fur babies have lived wonderful, healthy lives because of him and his very kind staff. Our dogs are such a integral part of our family, and we don’t trust them to just anyone. Dr. Peterman is as good as they get. While I do not know much about veterinary medicine, I am a licensed, board certified physician (an M.D.), and I completely endorse Dr. Peterman without any reservation or hesitation because of the excellent care he has provided us over so many years.

Today, my brother brought my dog to this place because it was an emergency. He went there because it was the closest animal hospital near the house. My dog had fallen from the couch, she was stiff as a rock, her eyes rolled back, and was not responding, so he took her in. I know since the whole covid you need to make an appointment before going, but this was an emergency. It's really messed up that they couldn't check her out, all because she had no appointment. So if you need to take your dog to an animal hospital because it is an emergency, don't come here because they won't accept you, if you don't have an appointment.

We have been bringing my pets here after a bad experience at a well known "good" animal hospital. Their service is always great and not too expensive. The only thing that sucks is their parking space because getting in there is a tight space and a lot of people park back there plus the vets who already have their cars there. You can park in the building to the left so its not that bad. Always make an appointment unless its an emergency or else your pals are going to be in there for the majority of the day.
