We had a decline in health with our dog Scooby new years eve 2021. We went to our primary vet and they said he needed a CT scan and Rhinoscopy done as soon as possible. No one could take him in. Not even the emergency Vet. They said that no one would be able to until Febuary! FEBUARY! We continued to call around and MedVet was to the rescue! They were great and kept us up to date with his health every step of the way as he stayed with them overnight! He was pushed to the top of the list for the scan and test to be done! The diagnosis wasn't great but they got Scooby healthy enough to come home to be with his family!

I took my very elderly cat to MedVet Silicon Valley when she had a couple of days of lethargic behavior, and had stopped eating. The service, compassion, and professionalism through the entire experience were excellent. I called ahead to make sure they were still taking animals that day, because sometimes emergency vets get very busy. They said I could bring my pet. I arrived with my cat and since you cannot walk inside due to covid protocols, I followed the instructions on the window and called the front desk so that someone could to come out and greet me. Someone came out and asked about the reason for bringing my pet. They took a quick look at her to gauge the urgency of the visit and agreed she needed to be taken in right away. I told them I was not able to wait for my cat and that I would leave her there and wait for follow up by phone. Intake was completed via forms accessed with QR codes at the door. It was a few hours before they called me. They called to inform me they had done an initial exam of my cat and went over what tests they recommended and roughly how much the tests would cost. My kitty was not doing very well, but they wanted to pinpoint exactly what was wrong before recommending treatment. They asked for my approval to run tests and bloodwork and told me they would be done in about an hour. I approved the tests. As promised, about an hour later, I got a call back from Dr. Malcom, who was so wonderful to talk to. She went through the findings of the bloodwork and outlined all the possible scenarios for me. We discussed treatment options as well as the option of putting my kitty to sleep. Dr. Malcom was very compassionate and non-judgemental as we talked through each scenario, and she was able to roughly ballpark the cost of the extensive treatments that would have been needed for my cat, as well as the cost of euthanasia. It was a tough conversation but she answered all of my questions as best she could. Ultimately, I had to make the very hard decision to put my cat to sleep. Dr. Malcom told me I could come back to the office at any time to do that, so I headed over right away. When I got there, I called the front desk and someone came out with the necessary paperwork and info to make the final choices for my cat, including disposition of the remains. When that was all selected, they then directed me to the other side of the building where they had a little area set up where I could visit with my cat one last time. I also had the option to come in for the final procedure of putting her to sleep. Every person I interacted with was helpful, kind, compassionate, and really cared about my pet. Dr. Malcom was awesome and made a very difficult day just a little bit easier because I felt like my cat was truly cared for until the very end.

To everyone who wants to know if there animal is in good hands. They are here. To do everything they can. They are a emergency place for your animal. We recently just lost our sweet boy Garfield and they were the ones who suggested what they could, what the best options were and what we could do. Our sweet boy was suffering and they did everything they could. What he had was something you can and can’t get rid of because it would just reoccur and we as pet parents don’t want our animals to suffer and be in pain or have surgery that is unnecessary. This place was great and staff and doctors were amazing. We lost our sweet Garfield that day but in the hands of good staff and a great doctor. After he passed they sent us a sympathy card that was hand written for the condolences of the loss we are grieving right now. They are great. You have to keep in mind they are an emergency place and going to suggest the best and fastest things to help your pet unlike a normal vet places. Your taking your pet here for a life or death situation realizes that before you criticize there criteria. This is a wonderful emergency place that they care for your pet like they would their own and care about there wellbeing. Me and my family are very grateful for this place and the extra length they took after we had to put down our sweet Garfield to know they care as a medical emergency animal place and they care.

After receiving some irregular blood test results from my regular vet at the beginning of 2020, she suggested I visit an internal medicine vet for follow-up. I found MedVet Silicon Valley and made an appointment with Dr. Moore at the end of January. He initially recommended some blood tests but after the tech pointed out I had already had those done, he reviewed them and recommended a nutritional supplement to support my dog's liver function. He advised me to return for a recheck in a month. The pandemic hits and our vet is only open for emergencies, plus we're not going out unless absolutely necessary. Our vet finally opens for regular service in October; I take my dog in for follow-up blood work and call MedVet to schedule a re-check, explaining that I didn't make the month re-check appointment due to the pandemic but wanted to to do that now; she schedules me for a re-check. While my dog's taken in (curbside), they basically tell me he looks okay and they're not concerned. They suggest a recheck in another 30 days. My complaint is that they charged me for another full consultation for this appointment that was supposed to be a recheck. I emailed the company and he acknowledges that in the notes, it does talk about this being a recheck and that he will reach out to the hospital and double-check if the charges are correct or not. I receive a call from someone in the billing office who basically tells me he's not familiar with my case, and Dr. Moore said it's not a recheck because it's been 10 months since the first consultation. I will not be returning here for any future services.

Paid $1200 to find out what was wrong with my puppy and all they wanted to do was keep my dog and charge more money and even after that still has no idea what was wrong with him these people don't care about pets and are only in it for the money

This place is a joke,,,,, $850 to check and I’ll let you know how expensive is going to be later,,, and after I refuse they said ok I’ll call animal control service to take care of your dog and guess what ,,,,,, no animal control service ,,, a police officer showed up and said ,,,,, hooooo they said you don’t want to paid for the service and they going to put your dog to sleep and you just have to take the body and bury it ,,,,and we told the police officer they want us to sign contract before we have any info and of course we refuse to sign and that’s when they get mad and instead of calling animal control service that they supposed to call they call the police ,,,,,, what a jokeeee of vet med

We took our cat for an emergency appt on May this year. This place did several tests on him and charged us over $1000. This last week we took him for his regular check up with his regular Vet and we got bad news that he has Diabetes and this showed in the tests your place did in May. Nobody called us back then to at least let us know that we should get him to his reg Vet for treatment of the diabetes as soon as possible . It’s been passed 4 months in which our cat should have the treatment needed but he didn’t because of your negligence. We definitely don’t recommend this place!

I took my cat into MedVet Silicon Valley after she had fallen off a 15ft loft. They accepted her rather quickly, but that was about the only good thing they did. It took in total about 8 hours for them to test her for any internal damage. About 5 hours were spent waiting for her to be seen by the vet. They charged us around 1,000 dollars to do a couple tests and x-rays on her. They did not seem to know how to handle cats that well and mainly accepted dogs. The worst part of the experience was their lack of communication. I had to call them every time to get an update on my cat. When she was finally discharged the vet spent about a minute talking to me about her concerns and then that was it. We were sent home with her papers and told we’d get a call back from them about her radiology report the next day. I had to of course call them and they said they were too busy to go over the report with me and that the vet would get to it later if they could. They then called me back and told me to contact the vet who saw my cat the day prior on her day off. Of course she didn’t respond because it was her day off. It feels so disorganized talking to them, they only seem to have on vet at a time and no medical staff available to talk to owners. I understand it’s an emergency vet, but I would hope that they would communicate with me about my pet considering how much I had to pay. They seem as though they have no designated staff and everyone is just scrambling around doing every job. If you can take you animal to another emergency vet I highly recommend it. They will charge you a bunch of money and barely communicate with you about the situation of your pet. I’m frustrated with how much I have to call them and ask for simple things like an itemized receipt over and over. They are friendly and fast at accepting pets, but overall, they are disorganized and lack the professional communication that one would hope to receive from a vet.

I brought my cat here to be euthanized. The place was absolutely packed with people yet we received wonderful service. The nurses and vet were gracious and understanding. My sister was able to hold Habibi as she died peacefully. The price here is great as well. I called 12 different places before I decided on medvet. They have more locations too! This is absolutely the place to go for emergencies.

I would not recommend using this vet hospital! They’re so unprofessional! Was thrown around to different animal hospitals and paid for the damn same thing! And they both said they’re specialist on the phone and could do something to help my sick dog! Not only that but my friend had a puppy and brought him in and sick and they basically said there was nothing they could do for him! Very upset with how they handled everything

I brought my cat in because he had a wound from a fight with a stray. They were so good with him. Cleaned him up really well. Even showed me the best way to give him the medicine. I will definitely take my pet here again, if needed.

We've used this hospital twice in the last year and a half and the doctors and staff are angels. They have been communicative and explain things well. Most recently my dog was bit by a rattlesnake and has needed a lot of follow up care and was getting aggressive with the staff and they were very patient and accommodating to us. I'm so glad I live near this location and know they are there for us when in need. Pets are unpredictable and their injuries or issues can be hard to determine let alone expensive. You take that on yourself when you bring a pet home. Be grateful these people are here to help you all hours of the day.

Rushed here for emergency care for our dear dog Kiba who had collapsed, not breathing. We got him breathing again, got him here and they took him in immediately. They kept us updated very regularly, every 15-20 mins. Even though they did not expect him to make it, they continued keeping him going per our requests, until finally after about an hour and a half we made the decision, based on their excellent sharing of information and prognosis, to let our little guy go. It was expensive, but I felt the quality of care was outstanding, as well as the empathy expressed and the process of saying goodbye in the private area behind the clinic. They helped us through such a traumatic experience.

This place is very horrible. They are an emergency hospital for pets so honestly only go here if your pet is dying and there is no other place open. The doctors will over charge you and give the worst care desired for your adored pet. Trust me you don’t want to give them your business. To exemplify, our cat had a urinary traction which is not uncommon for cats but the doctor on call at MedVet (Strickland) “accidentally” overdosed our cat with sedatives and our cat went into cardiac arrest, had a heart attack, and passed away. They also caused a big fuss when we asked why they charged us $1500 for a dead pet when they got back to us, extremely rude customer service. I can’t make this up, but the only thing I can do is beware my fellow pet owners on what may happen if these kind of people are put under pressure...

I would give this place a zero star if I could The staff here is completely unprofessional I was basically threatened by the staff. They were threatening to call animal control on my mother and I for wanting to take my dog home. Due to the fact that they wanted us to pay roughly $8,000 for a surgery on the spot. Which was completely out of my budget. I ended up paying only 1,500 at another animal hospital. Not to mention we had 3 different staff members trying to scare us that if we didn't do the treatment my dog would die. This is the second time I have came to this place out of desperation because there are not a lot of animal hospitals open 24/7 around me. Since it was around 11pm when I brought my dog in. PLEASE PLEASE don't waste your time here. These people don't care about your pet only your money!!!!

PLEASE RUN !! this facility is dangerous to the community !! Took my baby kitten which was 3 weeks old had difficulty breathing and first the veterinarian was very rude and throwing my baby kitten around and questioning me on why the kitten was having difficult breathing . She made it seem like we caused the kittens distress. VERY Insincere ! To take care of our kitten it would of costed an arm and a leg and I am a college student working my butt off and obviously couldn’t afford all the expeensives. So my only choice was to put my kitten down :( so she told me it would cost 500$ to put the kitten down. I then asked her how much cheaper it would be to take the kitten home and take it out of there hands and she said it wouldn’t be any cheaper. At the end we decided to take the kitten home and it was a 163$ difference I know it isn’t very much to anyone else but to me it is a big difference. anyway DO NOT GO THERE THEY JUST WANT THE MONEY !

On 1/29/2021 my husband rushed our 11.5 year old dog to this emergency vet hospital. Our dog was Bloating ( Gastric Torsion), a serious life threatening emergency. It was 2:30 pm and when my hospital called to check in from the parking lot, he told them that our dog was bloating. I woman on the phone told him that they were at maximum capacity and could t see him. My husband asked if she could recommend another emergency vet hospital and she said no! My husband then drove our dog up to Adobe Hospital in Los Altos ( our regular vet) where our dog has been in their hospital since yesterday. What kind of emergency vet hospital turns away a life threatening emergency without even trying to help?

This is my second visit in a week at this location and I’m quite sure they have people working there with out any customer service skills. I was told not to call and check up on my pet after being in the parking lot for 6 hours. I really thought that was quite rude; and this is after being charged over $1000.00. A little communication Or feedback would have Been sufficient. I was brushed after trying to explain with the veterinarian tech (Jen) who wasn’t even listening to me. After reading some of the reviews posted I assumed this location only provides for older animals past there life expectancy, just saying I would’ve come back twice if the first diagnosis was correct. We Specifically asked to be schedule with an orthopedic veterinarian for this visit and had a appointment at 9am and there until 3:30pm. Come to find out she was the emergency response veterinarian also, so our pet had to wait until she was done doing emergency triage. We are very disappointed and will be filing a formal complaint with the corporate office.

This place should be shut down! Warning to anyone seeking professional competent care for their pet. I took my dog here for a dog bite we had stopped the bleeding and bandaged our dog before arriving. A technician took him inside and we waited outside. After 35 minutes we received a phone call from the vet saying our dog needed a full work up xrays, blood work and to be heavily sedated. We asked questions and were given vague answers. After discussing it with other family members we decided to just go with stitches only. After 20 minutes of waiting for the estimate here is where it went even more downhill. We reached out by calling and going to the door each time we we're given the run around and told the doctor would discuss things with us. After about an hour of this circus run around we decided to go elsewhere. At this point it seemed they we're only interested in us paying the most they could scam us for. We told them multiple times we were going else where and given the run around another 20 minutes. Almost seemed like they were holding our dog hostage at this point. Finally a tech comes out with our dog and i notice immediately that the bandage had been removed and our dog was bleeding. The tech told is that it would be 200 dollars. I asked for what and she said the exam. I told her no way my dog is bleeding look at what you have done. She demanded we give her a credit card refusing to give us our dog. I told her no if you want to charge us bill us. Finally after more back in forth with my dog bleeding she hands us the leash and says whatever storming off. Luckily we are able to rush our pet to a friend's house close by to stop the bleeding and bandage him as best we can. Fortunately we were able to get him to a clinic that was able to help us and he is doing okay now. This place should be shut down. I don't know how you could leave a patient worse off then when they arrived. Please read this review and stay far away from this place. I will add pictures later.

WARNING!!!! NEGLIGENCE!!!! We took our dog for emergency care to Med Vet Silicon Valley located at 7160 Santa Teresa Blvd, San Jose Ca 95139. Our dog had been bitten by another dog. Before leaving our house we cleaned the deep wound that was actively bleeding, stopped the bleeding and bandaged him properly. We arrived at Med Vet Silicon Valley at approximately 4:50 pm. We called the number that we were told to call and filled out the online form. A technician came out and took our dog in. Our home is about 40 minutes away depending on traffic and our phones were on low percentage with our chargers at home. After approximately 30 minutes of waiting we received a phone call from the veterinarian she explained to us that she wanted to do bloodwork, do xrays, heavily sedate our dog and clean the wound. We asked her why all this was necessary and she gave us a vague response lecturing us that is needed to be done and that they would call us for an estimate of cost. We asked more questions and how long it would take and her response was well into the evening and they would call for an estimate. We waited approximately 20 minutes with no chargers and phones starting to die we went to the door and a technician came out after another 5 minutes we told them our situation and that we only wanted our dog to be treated for the wound. He said he would need to talk to the doctor. After another 10 minutes I called and explained the situation. The technician said someone would call us. After another ten minutes I went to the door and talked to the technician again and told her the doctor will want to talk to you. We waited another ten minutes and at that point decided we needed to seek care elsewhere. We waived down another technician explained we would be seeking care elsewhere. She said that is fine I will be right back. Another 15 minutes passed and no one came out finally any Tech came to talk to someone else and we told them if we could have our dog. She went back inside. 10 minutes later a tech comes out with our dog and I notice immediately that his bandage has been removed and he is bleeding. The tech with bright pink hair and a major attitude said that will be 200 dollars. At that point I ask for what my dog is bleeding al ot and had no bandages on them. That is negligence!. She refuses to give us our dog and ask us for a card. I then told her I'm not paying that you didn't do anything my dog is bleeding. The girl with bright pink hair said "whatever" and hands us our dog. Thankfully we were able to rush our dog to a family friend that lives about ten minutes away and they gave us a first aid kit to stop the bleeding and bandage the wound. We went to another facility and were able to take our dog take care of. Med Vet 7160 Santa Teresa Blvd, San Jose Ca 95139 showed complete negligence with not bandaging our dog or taking care of them. The other place said there was absolutely no need for heavy sedation or x-rays, treated our dog and we have follow up in a few days. We didn't have time to read the reviews for Med Vet before we went, but now after reading it our experience seems in line with so many other people's experience of negligence and scamming at Med Vet. The pictures show how they let my dog leave and they would not bandage them or even give us back the bandages we had on him.

I had a pet emergency and was told this was the closest place for a walk in. I called to find out the price was minimum 150 and first come basis, so no appointments. I understand that. I took my cat in and was told over the phone what they thought and what I needed to do. (It was about an hour wait. Not bad at all.) They said they would prescribe oral antibiotics and pain medication to take home that lasts 2 weeks so I would need to call to see my primary vet for the rest of the treatment/surgery. I was unhappy with oral medicine since my cat was not eating and I already said she wouldn't let me see her mouth (The issue was dental so that makes sense). They said it was okay to squirt it in the corner of her mouth and should be fine. I insisted on asking for a shot instead and was told I they would have to ask. I got off the phone expecting a call back about that. After hanging up with them, I called my vet to tell them what was going on and how they said I needed dental surgery. My vet was immediately disgusted that the medication was oral too! He said to call them and demand no treatment then bring the cat to him today (despite no appointment and he was close to closing). He said a cat not eating won't and shouldn't have oral medication and I was right to want a shot done. I called MedVet again and they said they had my bill ready and would give me my cat. I was confused since they never contacted me back on treatment so I figured it was just the visit fee.. It was over $240! I asked for a breakdown and they charged the basic 150 with antibiotics and pain medication. They didn't call me back to say what treatment they were doing or anything. They just did what they wanted... Apparently they just gave my cat a shot without talking to me. It was what I asked for but completely rude to not even call me back about it or tell me price too. Certain animals might be allergic to medications! Important to talk to the client... When they were checking me out, I mentioned wanting to know symptoms for the medications given to my cat (Without my actual consent considering they didn't tell me the medications or call me back after I said no to oral.) and was only told drowsiness or dizzy. I asked if I should look out for any bathroom issues like constipation or vomiting. They said no.... I know medications. They gave gabapentin which can do drowsiness and dizziness. However, they gave the antibiotic cefovecin which has side effects of vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and decreased appetite. I asked as a test and boy did they fail. Again! Throughout the entire thing, it was like staff didn't talk to each other because they asked the same questions and responded differently when I asked them questions. Me: I have my cats medical history papers with me in the car. I put them in the carrier case. Do you need them? I made copies for you to have. Staff 1: "No we won't need the medical history and bloodwork." Staff 2: "Oh you have that? Yeah. We need those." Me: I brought the tooth that I found so the doctor can see it too. Staff 1: Oh they won't need that. Staff 2: We won't need that. Thanks for bringing it. Staff 2 had to come back out to my car to get the tooth later..... Overall, I was upset and just wanted my cat back. I paid the money and got the hell out of there after checking to make sure I at least got the right pet. They didn't even return the tooth for me to show to my vet... Not going back for it. Tip: You can sort the Google reviews by "Newest" to see that there are a lot of bad reviews in the last year. Wish I had looked at these prior to coming here.

This is the worse vet we have ever been too. We took our puppy here because he was hacking and throwing up a bit. So we went ahead and brought him here because we were concerned. When we got their it was 8:30. By the time we finally got our puppy it was 4:30pm! Almost 5!! We kept calling the doctors because they were not keeping us updated with what was wrong with him. They didn’t even tell us what they were doing to him. We were telling Dr.Hernandez everything that we noticed and she got on us about any little thing about how we were doing wrong. She got on us because we told her well can’t we just skip the x-ray for our puppy because it was $500 for an x-ray and she told us “no it can’t wait your puppy can die if we don’t get the x-ray done”. At this point I already had enough but we wanted to know what was wrong with him. By the time they did any test possible on him which they didn’t even ask us permission we finally got a call by the doctor they didn’t even fully explain what was wrong with him. They wanted to charge us more money to keep him over night so they can watch him. And to keep them over night it’s $800. Are you kidding me?!?! They wanted to run more test on my puppy but we told them no. We told them no more test on him. When we finally brought him home my puppy was still showing some of the same problems. He honestly is still the same. So we paid all of this money for our him not be better? They need to be shut down. I don’t understand why they are still open

What a scam! They would take advantage of pet owner to buy services and tests they totally don't need. My mom's dog didn't pee for roughly 32 hours, so she's worried. I didn't think it was a big deal, but I find her this clinic anyway so she can feel safe. I thought they would give her some meds to help with digestion. They took our dog inside, did some routine check and suggested my mom to do an X-ray on the spine and some additional blood test, which cost roughly $1800. Are you serious? The dog didn't pee for a little over a day and you want to check his spine? He was still running and jumping around and you can't see that? I think the doctor is taking advantage of my mom's emotion and some language barrier. I thought it was outrageous so I told my mom to not do it. The doctor then gave her some meds to help with upset stomach, which was what I sent my mom to get in the first place. Total cost was a little over $180, which included a visit fee of $150, which I think its also overpriced compared to a lot of the other clinics I visited. Oh btw, the dog did end up pee a lot while waiting for the diagnosis in the clinic, and the doctor still wanted to do an X-Ray. I think this place will try to scare pet owner to sell any service they can think of to rip you off and make profit. Please call ahead and ask for potential issue and cost before you visit.
