They didn’t send bill for licensing they just assume you should know to pay it every year. If you missed the due date, they charge you late fee because they assume you should know.

TO PROTECT YOURSELF, YOU NEED TO GET THE SHOTS FOR YOUR DOG TRUE ANOTHER HUMAN SOCIETY, I.E. Pasadena, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, San Marino, Monrovia, La Canada, Duarte (Bradbury), or Arcadia. San Gabriel no longer does the vaccines, thus they are losing money. Be sure you get your dogs shots before June 30 or San Gabriel will not count your shots as current. THEY ARE OPERATING ON A POLITICAL & INHUMANE SET OF RULES to make up for the income the got from administering vaccines. They got some California Title, Title 17, CCR 2606.4 that apparently let's them make their own rules. Do not get your shots like I did in May 2019. The 3 year term for my 3 dog's rabies shot expires May 2022. Even though it is only July 2021, they insisted, per there own rules, that the shot was supposed to have an expiration date of 6/30/2022 in order to get a San Gabriel City License so technically I am losing my money from 6/30/2021 to July 11, 2022 because my SG license is only good for one year. So those people who license their dogs by 8/31/21 must have their rabies shots done by a vet or another Humane Society between 6/30/21 and 7/15/24 (3 year shot) and their DHPP (Distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvo), Internasal Bordatella, and Canine Influenza (Hn2H3n8) according to term/expiration date for each of vaccine. I will be seeking legal advice for other options for licensing..

1.If you want make appointment, they do not let you to choose the day and time, even they’re open on Saturday, but they don’t offer vaccines service. 2. people talking on the call the attitude bad. 3. wait about 30 min even you arrived on time. 4. cat dewormer price is higher than vaccination *They’re open on Saturdays, but for vaccination service, they can’t make appointment on Saturdays for Taking Vaccination, and You have no other choice, they tell you the day and time. *A staff told me 25 dollars for dewormer include 2 times, for the 2nd time I don’t need to pay. But when I made a appointment for 2nd time, a staff told me you have to pay 10 dollars.

Only care about the money. Recently I found 5 kittens who looked malnourished and dehydrated we gave them something to eat and water and since we live in san Gabriel we wanted to leave them in our local shelter they didn’t want to take them and told us to put them back where we found them even though there was no mother and it was 95 degrees outside. We told them the information and they decided to tell us that they couldn’t take them and after we told them their conditions they said it didn’t matter. I have been to this shelter before when I wanted to adopt a dog. DO NOT COME HERE there’s other shelters and humane societies that care more about pets and the well being of animals. And when we opened the office door it’s smelled nothing but marihuana so unprofessional.

I gave food and kitty litter. Lots of good signs. Warns people that animals can get Covid-19. Get vaccinated

I’ve never adopted an animal from here,so I can’t say anything about that. I neutered my cat here though and it was VERY budget friendly compared to my local vets. The neutering was I think $50 if I remember correctly. Each vaccine was about $20. However, their customer service is terrible. They leave you on hold for hours, change dates, long wait time between appointments, also makes you redo vaccines a couple weeks after you get them. I called when my cat was 8 months old,he got neutered at 1 year and a 1 month. If you’re on a tight budget, this place will do,but I’d acknowledge the poor customer service and wait time, along with the inconveniences.

We made an appointment to get a booster rabies shot during covid times. I showed up timely for my appointment, there were two other cars in the parking lot. I made my call, and after a couple of busy signals got through. I totally forgot to bring my rabies certificate so they allowed me to email a copy I got from my previous vet. In total, I was there for only 10 minutes, I was very satisfied with the covid appointment system and the workers that helped us.

Today Me and my husband have a new member. I adopted Celia within 5 days after my adopt application be accepted. I made an appointment with them to meet Celia then I totally like her, Celia is very friendly, want to get attention. I was really impressed by the way that staffs working here. They are very professional, they explained everything for me to get know well with the cat, and they also gave me documents for cat vaccination due date. And especially they gave me all necessary things for cat like blanket (the one that cat used before coz it has cat smell), brand new toy, combo brush, litter box, cat treat, taglory, etc. All stuffs are brand new. My first time I adopted a cat and it was so great. Thanks San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for everything.

We lived directly across the street from the Human society & that's where we adopted our now 15 ½ year old cat Pumpkin. We used to volunteer to walk the dogs on the weekends & they have a very caring staff.

Unwilling to reduce the surrender fee. Unwilling to honor the option I had to re home the animal. Insisted I would get a ticket from the city every day I had the animal. I apologized for having the rooster and explained to these people I was in the process of rehoming him but no, they were very pushy and demanding. Horrible to deal with!!!

I had a bad experience here . When I came to see an animal the lady I spoke to her name was Joyce and she is so rude . She is really disrespectful and has a bad attitude . I was really disappointed with my welcome there . She got mad because I wanted to see the animal first to see if it was the one that someone stolen from me . But it wasn't and she wanted to charge me $109 just to get the bunny when I got it for cheaper from the guy who sell me the bunny . And I can till the people who work here don't even care about the animals . If someone doesn't adopt them they get rid of them or put them to sleep . It's just so sad . I have a heart for animals I love animals and care for them . And when I see people bring their dogs that they adopted back it breaks my heart . And for people to do a fundraiser to keep this place and not close it down is not worth it . Because if the animals suffer here they need to find a owner that cares for animals . Please save the animals from here .

This is definitely one of the nicer humane societies in the area. The people that work here seem to care about the animals and the people coming to adopt them They make everything very easy for the new pet owners and offer veterinarian services at a low cost. I've adopted from this facility a few times and have had good luck with all of them I would say be patient, expect some strong smells and loud noises, and of course don't forget to wash your hands before and after visiting. You can see some of the animals prior to visiting the facility by visiting their website
