They groom my mini poodle well!

After my dog’s second visit to VIP grooming, I was told that my 7 month old adolescent puppy “wasn’t a good fit”. They said he was barking a lot (he barks when he wants to play with other dogs) and snapped at them when they used a blow dryer (he acts like he was traumatized of blow dryers at a young age, which we included in the notes when we got the “puppy’s first groom” on our first visit). They had to kiln dry him, which sounds like wearing a fur coat in a sauna. I’d probably bark, too if that was me. It took 5 hours and when we got home he was extremely thirsty. We also had to brush him because he continued to shed as he dried. Prior to our appointment, we took him on a run so he wouldn’t have pent up energy. We had planned to take him to get pictures with Santa, but because it took 5 hours, we missed the window. Our first visit was great. They told us he barked that time, too. At that time, we asked what we could do, and they didn’t give us advice or try to help. I chose this groomer because they seemed to gave a great balance of patience and care for dogs while having the skills to deal with a dog that requires regular grooming. I really care about my dog’s groomer because if he isn’t groomed properly, it could negatively impact his health. VIP grooming is good, but they’re too good for my dog. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my next appointment with them.

LuLu is so well cared for at VIP. She feels good, looks good,,and is a happy girl whenever she gets her services at the best place in San Francisco!! 5 stars!!!

The good news: They are very communicative and it was easy to book an appointment far in advance. They did a great job brushing out our puppy and trimming his nails, ear hair and paws. The bad news: His face looks much worse unfortunately than when he went in. The face "trimming" was very choppy and uneven. It is shaved more on one side than the other and all of his eyebrows and eye lashes are gone. He wouldn't look any of us in the eye for two hours after the appointment and when he finally did, he let one tear roll down. He is only four months old and we all really sensed that he was very scared by the experience. We wish the business the best and know of many others that have good experiences but for our puppy, the 3 hour appointment was too much in many ways. I don't enjoy writing a poor review and have never done so before but we all as a family felt it was important to share our puppy's experience.

Normally love their service. However, my last one they gave my dog one bald spot on her back instead of the small amount of time that it would have taken to de-mat.

Reliable, easy to book online, knowledgeable and careful. It’s easy to drop off and pick up our dog quickly, and they’re warm, friendly, and efficient. My dog always smells great after.

Best place to get my dogs nails done and wonderful staff!

The groomer handled both of my huskies and they are beautiful. One of my dogs was at the tail end of blowing his coat and he looked a mess, but the groomer was able to brush it all out! Both are gorgeous fluffy air fresheners now.

These guys are great. Careful attention to detail, and they really seem to care about the dogs in their care. Our doggy loves going there, and she always comes out clean and beautiful.

Booked a hand strip for my terrier, paid $180 for it but ended up receiving a $40 clipper groom. A year later and my dogs coat still hasn’t recovered and is missing his protective coating. Disappointed that I was deceived by the groomer with my new puppy. It’s unfortunate when a small business receives a bad review but I should let others know my experience.

Recommended by someone in the neighborhood with a happy snazzy dog. The nicest folks work there & they know their craft. Our new little old guy Curly look fabulous and was calm & happy ????????????

My dogs' go-to groomers for the past 14 years!

Hard to get an appointment sometimes. They charge a bit more than expected, but I think about rent and salary overhead in San Franciso and there you go. I have two dogs - they both get fantastic grooms everytime.

Our two poodles enjoy their monthly "spa" days at VIP to get bathed and trimmed. Pricey but well worth the extra care and attention compared to other groomers. Recommended -- though schedule well ahead of time!
