On our second dog at SF Puppy Prep and they do an amazing job. Highly recommend for all new dog owners.

SF Puppy Prep was a superb place to acclimate, socialize and train our energetic and willful pup. The staff was attentive and responsive and clearly brought a lot of engagement and passion to their work. We saw our puppy progress so much in her confidence and interactions with other dogs. The parent-teacher conferences were invaluable and detailed and I’d enthusiastically recommend SF Puppy Prep’s services to anyone!

We started our puppy at S.F. Puppy Prep on June 25th. Fast-forward to Sunday, June 28th @ 2 a.m. our puppy is violently coughing & vomiting. We rushed her to the emergency veterinarians offie on Alabama St. She is diagnosed with Kennel Cough. After receiving fluid injections & cough syrup, we take her home. Later that day, we take her to our main veterinarians office, they start her on a 10 day supply of antibiotics. I am beyond disappointed with S.F. Puppy Prep, they never verified our dogs vaccinations, they explained to us that somehow we "fell through the cracks." They also acted like Kennel Cough isn't a big deal, maybe it's not a big deal for them, but for new dog owners rushing their dogs to the emergency veterinarians office in the middle night, it is a big deal. After speaking with S.F. puppy prep on Sunday the 28th, they apologized profusely, and explained that normally they verify vaccinations before a new puppy starts. I was appalled to learn that they don't inform dog owners if a puppy becomes ill. They prioritize profits over moral, and the health of puppies. Fast-forward to July 15th, I am crossing the street and notice a person stopped at a red light, with a puppy on their lap. I had chatted with her in line on the last day we took our dog to Puppy Prep. They pulled over, and they told me that their dog also got sick, with Kennel Cough, this puppy was also rushed to the emergency veterinarians office in the middle of the night, having to undergo x-rays, etc. The other dog owner was just as appalled as I was to find out what had happened to my dog, this is obviously not a coincidence. S.F. Puppy prep needs to prioritize the health & safety of the dogs they are taking in. I know this review won't be popular with them, they asked me to delete the original one star review I left a few weeks ago, I did.. In good conscience, I refuse to be be blindly complicit to suit their profits, this needs attention. People need to know what happened, and what could potentially happen.

Highly recommend everyone socialize their new puppies so they behave better when they get older.

I had a great experience with my pup at SF Puppy Prep despite COVID limitations of direct interactions of the trainers. I enrolled my pup Charlie in their puppy school with the intention of only getting her socialized with other dogs, but got so much more. She was a shy gal that came out of her shell with the help of the trainers. I then followed up with a zoom course. Although skeptical that it wasn't in person and already doing my own training, the extra assistance, guidance, and recommendations that seemed slight, made a huge difference and made frustrating days better and put us on the right track faster. Our puppy loved coming here for the puppy kindergarten classes! Great structure, useful techniques and friendly instructors. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to train their puppy in a positive and fun way!

It's a no frills everything you need puppy class and puppy social. I want to make sure my puppy is getting plenty of socializing with other puppies at a young age and learns the essential training to keep him safe and happy and SF Puppy Prep provides that at a below average cost for the city

My puppy learned a lot, or should I say I learned how to train her.

Can't say enough good things about the team here. Our pup went through Puppy Kindergarten with Marie, who was upbeat, encouraging, and accommodating to pups with high nerves. We learned all the training techniques to teach basic commands and practice at home. We also attended puppy socials and enrolled our pup in Puppy Day School, which was invaluable for his socialization and ability to play and interact with other dogs appropriately.

I came here for a set of classes, but I wish I had gotten my pup here when he was younger for the socialization sessions! Very friendly staff who are knowledgeable and keen to help.

Awesome place to take your new puppy. The staff is amazing and you'll learn a lot about how to make sure that they play well with other dogs AND how to teach them the necessarily skills to make sure that they're not a nightmare later on.
