Hands down the best vet! If you have a Bulldog of any kind, this is the place. Caring, professional and efficient. They don’t push unnecessary procedures or medications. We’ve lived all of the Bay Area from San Mateo to Richmond and we still come to Avenues. Anytime we didn’t go to Avenues we regretted it.

We took our 11 month old frenchie Potato here for his brachy surgery after having tons of other frenchie owners telling us to go here because Avenues is “the place” for brachycephalic breeds in the city. Dr Schwach came out to talk to me in detail about Potato’s condition and what the options were. He ended up having a severe case of BOAS and needed all four aspects of the surgery. 21 days later Potato is a brand new dog and is truly able to be a puppy again, ready to run and play! Plus he snores WAY less - going from snoring while awake and like a jackhammer at night to silence or very soft snoring now. Thank you!

They are running very efficiently with curbside drop off and pick up and consultation over the phone. We brought in our kitties for their annual checkup and they are direct and to the point, not trying to push unnecessary services

For 23 years we have taken our dog family members to the Avenues Vetenary Hospital. The staff is always helpful, calls are returned quickly, and everyone treats the pets with kindness.

Absolutely great experience all around from the team at Avenues. We were initially referred to Dr. Anderson for a teeth cleaning for our 10 year old hound dog by our dog walker, and after a consultation decided to move forward with the procedure along with a mass removal for our aging pup. We were incredibly worried about putting our dog under given his age but the team at Avenues was stellar. From the communication we received, to the pre-checks before surgery, to check ins before, during and after surgery - the entire experience was fantastic. Our pup is healing well, and we can’t recommend the team at Avenues highly enough.

Everyone at Avenues puts your pet first. Experienced veterinarians, incredible bedside manner have been invaluable support to me and my dogs over the years. It was worth driving up from the peninsula and taking public transit from across town. Years ago my dog had a pinched nerve and wouldn't/ couldn't stop yelping the whole car ride, outside on Taraval passers by thought I was beating him. As soon as he got on the table, he stopped, and relaxed. That's how good the care at Avenues is--a dog in crisis, instantly feels safe. Take the extra time to go, and give you and your pets the peace of mind that comes with the best care. I can't recommend them highly enough ????

Scott Anderson was the Harley Whisperer. My cat always had the DANGER sticker on her file, but Scott always managed to handle her. She's still going strong at sixteen, but I don't live in Cali anymore. One of the things I miss most is how Avenues took care of my baby! Thanks, all of you!

They didn’t do right way on my dog, my dog still in the pain, They have no professional service attitude, they are very anxious to close the door, do not want to solve the problem, and then Intimidate us，want to call the police, they just want us out there, crazy behavior. The service industry must have a service industry attitude. No flattery. If you want to get money from the consumer, you have to learn how to explain the problem and should tell us how come or why. I don’t want to come again. I will let my friends know that what’s happened on us.

Crooks. They charged me double what I paid at my normal vet because they knew I didn't want my dog in pain over the weekend. Crooks.

Great service, friendly staff. The docs listen to your concerns. They also understand unique challenges that come with many special needs breeds.

They ate a little pricey, their service is great and they show compassion to the pets they attend to. It's better than it her vets I've been to.

Been bringing our dogs here for years. Dr. Anderson has an amazing way with small dogs and provides clear explanations. Now that he has cut back his hours in semi-retirement, we see his staff vets more often. They have all been up to the task and the practice looks to be in good hands.

The few times I've visited this veterinary clinic I was given to a different practitioner each time. We were referred by friends. I will say that if you go in there for a routine procedure you can be sure that it will escalate into a bill of several hundred dollars or more. Unfortunately we also had a hideous experience, has stayed with me, due to the intensely childish response by a member of the office staff regarding their payment procedure. A simple conversation about the fact that they don't except American Express turned into a convoluted personal battle of wills between office staff the managing Vet and myself. They may be good with pets but they're absolutely horrible with people.
