Everyone at Torrey Pine Animal Hospital loves your cats and dogs. Friendly atmosphere and they try their hardest to make your pet feel at home. Thank you.

Absolutely unacceptable service from this practice. We've been going to them for about 10 months, but that was a mistake on our part. These guys will make you wait over an hour even though you have a scheduled appointment, and will take over a week to approve prescription medication. Their online pharmacy is just as bad: 1) we ordered a bottle of apoquel (100 pills dosed at 3.6mg), but the order defaults to being auto-shipped every week without providing you the ability to update or opt out of it (who needs 100 pills sent each week?) until after the order is placed; 2) delivery time is advertised as 2 days, but this is complete bull since it's taking more than 2 weeks for the meds to arrive. In an effort to have them understand the urgency of our situation and need for the meds ASAP, I shared images of our dog's paws, which have gotten raw from his constant licking due to an allergic reaction. It's gotten so bad that he's having difficulty walking on grass. I was hoping they would work with us and send the meds out from their office or the post office (which is literally next to their office) since the shipment from their online pharmacy is taking too long, but they responded with a generic "I'm sorry" and instead offered to have the meds called in to a Costco that's 40 minutes away from where our dog is boarding. This aggravated me because 1) just send the meds out from your office like I requested; 2) why did you wait this long to give this option; 3) you obviously don't share the same sense of urgency.

I brought my dog in for her vaccine this morning (May 17). My dog was a bit excited when she arrived to the vet office. Thus, my awareness was shut down completely. Instead, my focus was on her only at the time because I did not want my dog to cause any problems at the vet office. I was not paying attention to read the sign "wait outside," So, when I entered the vet office and there was a gal and she was staring at me for a period of about 20 plus seconds or so without greeting. I was quite surprised and insulted by her demeanor in terms of her customer service. I then asked and she replied me that I needed to wait "OUTSIDE". When I opened the door and realized that there was a sign which instructed patients to wait outside. It was my bad for not reading the sign. However, I am very upset for being treated this way. It is my belief that it is not a big deal at all if I were her. I would have simply said to a patient that "Please wait outside." Instead, staring at me for a long period in a condecending attitude. At the end of the day, I am bring her business. I am NOT there to ask for her charity. There are hundreds of vet offices around this area. Who does she thinks she is? Is she a Ms. PERFECT? She ought to be glad that she has a job nowadays. There are more than 30 millions Americans are out of work currently. Perhaps, she needs to be fired, so she will value her job and treat customers with dignity and courtesy.

I’m just so impressed how TPAH has handled the Covid limitations. They are keeping us safe while still making our animals their priority. Every vet we’ve had here is so sincere and takes as much time as you need to explain everything. The staff is wonderful.

*EDIT: "The wrong insecticide can be lethal for a cat." I did not know the medication mishap was this serious when I wrote my review. Now I am in absolute disbelief this TPAH had such a dismissive, irritated attitude after giving my kitten a flea medication for dogs! Future customers, be warned. After three visits here for my kitten, I have extremely mixed feelings and experiences. First, the good. Dr. Boiskin has been amazing-it's evident that she truly cares for the wellbeing of my kitten, she is really kind, and she takes plenty of time addressing all my concerns. During my first visit, after learning that I am a first-time cat owner, she patiently went over the basics of kitten care with me and answered any questions I had. I've also had mostly positive experiences with the technicians. They're very friendly, never rush me, and always are very meticulous in their explanations. They also show a lot of compassion and care towards my kitten. However, I have had two negative experiences. On our second visit, our kitten was checked up by Dr. McClellan and I told him my concerns about a set of symptoms she was experiencing. I felt that our conversation was rushed, also he overlooked my concerns. He told me all the symptoms were normal. They weren't, and this cost me another $57 check-up for pretty much the exact same set of symptoms just a week later. I know that vets can't be 100% accurate, but I strongly believe he overlooked some things that he could have simply double-checked on the spot. In today's visit, a technician gave me another customer's dog's medication and told me how I should use it on my kitten. I honestly do not blame the technician; she seemed very kind and it was just (a big, but honest) mistake. After I realized the mistake by reading the label, I called the receptionist to ask about this. The receptionist asked me to return the medication and seemed rather irritated when I asked her to double-check with the technician if the medication was for my kitten, since I was described in extreme detail how to apply it and how it was beneficial for my kittens symptoms. This brings me to my last point. The majority of my interactions with the receptionists have been absolutely positive (especially with the ones that ring up the bill lol). But sometimes they just sound rushed or annoyed, which I am taken aback by. With such expensive prices and vets educated at top-notch schools, I am seriously dumbfounded by my experience. Needless to say, my experiences did not match my high expectations. Not sure if I will return here; if I do it will only be for Dr. Boiskin and the technicians.

Great vet office! I have had only a few "so so" experiences here, and have always been a huge fan of TPAH! Recently I have noticed an increasingly high turnover in vet techs...I've been curious as to why they seemingly go through so many new employees at such a quick clip. They have one phone line that does not work (SUPER annoying if you need to get in touch with them right away) and some of the vet techs can be less good with the animals than others. I had one experience with a vet (not sure if she is there anymore) in which my dog had pine tar on his paws (I didn't know what it was), and the vet told me it could be a dangerous growth. hehe! Some olive oil took care of that right away, and cost a fraction of the cost of the appointment! Overall great office.

My dog is terrified of vets. TPAH staff is always accommodating and respectful. Best of all they don't try to oversell their treatment options. Convenient location, helpful, and always call me if a better appointment time opens up.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We haven't been going to this vet long, but they've been great with our pets. The parking lot immediately near there storefront has very small spots and fills up quickly. But the shopping center itself has plenty of parking if you're willing to walk a bit

I've been coming here for almost 5 years and I won't go anywhere else. My pup started coming when he was 10 weeks old and has always been very timid. He actually enjoys coming because the techs and doctors are so good with him. Thank you TPAH!

The place I was longing for to take care of my poodle. A nice collaboration of vets . There is always someone to take care of your pet. The fact they are open 7 days a week makes you feel comfortable . You know you will always find someone when your pet needs. Highly recommend

I have updated my review. I take both of my cats here. I have an older cat that hates the vet. They take extra good care of him to ensure his visit isn't traumatizing. The staff genuinely care about each animal that comes in. I moved downtown but I will still make the trip here for the love and care given to my cats.

Love this animal hospital! The vets and nurses here are so friendly and caring. They all clearly have a love for animals. I have brought my adopted kitten here several times to be treated of Giardia that he contracted from his shelter. Their level of concern and compassion is wonderful and I can tell that they want what is best for my cat. They provide a lot of information for any issues your animal may have, including printed out info for you to take home and read.

We’ve overnight boarded and day boarded here. The staff is very friendly and spends time with our pup when he stays. Our pup is also a patient and the vet side is very good with all the animals.
