I always have a good experience here. The doctors and staff are all really nice and great with my dog. Dr. Johnson is amazing and great with him. She has great energy and care which translates really well to her work.

Got a prescription filled for my dog, but it wasn't in the box they gave me. I called and the manager we suppose to call me back, but never did. Now I need to book an appointment to get the prescription they didn't fill. I will never return.

My pup had his first vet visit today, and everyone was very friendly. Especially Simmer, she went above and beyond her professional duties. Thanks Simmer!

Wow, No one to talk to or follow up and just witnessed a tech and vet walking dogs with no consideration for hygein, health or safety. While walking dogs at the end of the day, nether vet not tech bothered to looked ether way before letting the dogs run into the street , thankfully the cars stopped. (Mira Mesa suffers from one of the highest car insurance rates in the country because folks don't know how to drive or cross the street) In thus case the staff wanted to reach a nasty narrow strip of grass that smelled horrific then yelled at the dogs when there. (clearly both sick and healthy dogs use the same small strip for that reason they should be closed). Had nether been so lazy there is a Minnie Park on the other side of the building about 60ft in the other direction. Clean, minimal cars, a much healthier place... I will never go back there

I took my Chihuahua to Thrive to have her nail removed after she broke it. After the procedure, she had a mark around her mouth from her muzzle being put on so tightly, and they cut her nails so short that they were bleeding. When I took her back to have the bandage removed, the vet (Dr. Kazumi A. Leon) and her helper insisted on taking my dog into another room, but I did not have the heart to leave my frightened Chihuahua alone with them again. And thank goodness I didn’t: the vet tried to cut the bandage off with big scissors while my dog’s tiny leg struggled to escape the danger. I made her unroll the bandage manually. She was not happy about it, but my dog was. Then, they tried to charge me $50 extra on top of what I already paid, even though they told me this follow-up visit was included in the price. I did not pay, but it left me with a sour taste of this place. I took her there mainly because of the prices, but the lack of compassion and professionalism did not make it worth it

I went in for a check up for my little guy and long story short they refused to treat him. After ignoring documentation that was provided and attempting to make diagnosis without information it was requested the Vet, Peggy Bain, review my kitty’s history to be sure they are making sound decisions. This request was met with argumentative discourse regarding not having the docs. After a little back and fourth she realized that she did indeed have the docs and didn’t know it as the tech never told her. Regardless, this spiraled into a discussion with management that was less than professional and quite supportive of a Vet making decisions without information. Upon being offered to be “get a second opinion” elsewhere because of their inability to communicate among themselves I requested they actually fulfill the appointment and actually care for him. All this resulted in being asked to find services else where....I happily oblige but warn patrons and new patients of this location. WARNING: they want to sell you on tests, creams, and other products with no regard to your baby’s history. Heaven forbid they make a mistake and are asked to be able to justify it...you will be asked to leave. Good luck. Update: the owner responded to the review but never contacted either myself or my partner. Also, the 2 weeks that we’re mandatory to wait for the results of tests that were unnecessary would have put my guy in serious danger but this clinic requires you do endless testing for things that according to the Vet that I took him to that same day for an emergency visit “they did not have your cat’s health as the priority. We will take care of all his issues right away.” He was given antibiotics, a depo shot, and simple tests were done to rule out ALL that Throve said was necessary before he could receive treatment. This place is dangerous! You’ve been warned.

Every person down to your vet technician, cashiers, greeter represent your business. Had a recent negative interaction that was unprofessional with one of your female employees that has two-tone hair and works at this location. She had brought her corgi with her to work and was very rude and abrasive when my dog ran up to hers and then proceeded to tell me how dogs do not need socialization and I need to keep my dog away from her ‘s, how about don’t bring your animal to work with you And don’t bring your animal to a business with other animals. I would say there needs to be some policy changes there it’s truly not appropriate

I won't even step foot in there. You know you are going to get hit with huge charges when they won't discuss their pricing for basic services over the phone. I called today to get pricing for basic bloodwork on a Canine and the man refused to tell me. FYI - If you're putting "Affordable" in your name, you should be more than happy to answer customers' questions when they are asking about price. People don't call "affordable" places and ask for pricing if they can afford to come in blindly and pay any price that comes up. Every other vet I called today was happy to give me baseline pricing so that I had at least an idea of what I was up against. I guess that is the difference between the big guys and the little guys. Good job, Petco.

I love thrive but why is it so hard to get an appointment when my pup is not feeling well. All of San Diego Thrive no appointments With in 35 miles.

I make a online appt for my dog and receive their confirmation text if appt. Get here receptionist says don't see you in schedule. I show my confirmation says sorry our online glitches. Mind you not our fault we have a confirmation text First she says sorry you will have to wait an hour. Outside where other pets are and she already has anxiety. Calls me back in 1 minute and says will be closer to 2 hours now. I mean when your dog has a ear infection needs meds right. Time for new vet after coming her 2 years no compassion or care.

The entire staff at Thrive have been wonderful. They are very caring and wonderful with my babies. I have found it easy to get appointments. Dr. Johnson and Dr. Lee are wonderful at explaining diagnosis and treatment plans and making sure to answer all my questions. I was so lucky to stumble upon this clinic. I highly recommend bringing your fur babies here. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Dr's and techs here.

I took my dog three times to this location at mira Mesa. They charged me around $500. I haven't seen any changes in my dog condition. Their doctor's diagnosis and treatment plan were wrong and not professional. They are very good with charging their patients step by step with their wrong diagnosis and plans. So disappointed and I will not recommend this location At All.

Had a great first visit with our new puppy, Sammy! Everyone we met there was so sweet and gentle with him, and Dr. Johnson is awesome! She's funny, was very patient with us (we had quite a few questions), and completely put us at ease. Sammy got a checkup, his nails trimmed, and deworming, all in under 30 minutes, and for an incredibly affordable cost. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

I fortunately found Dr. Johnson and the Thrive team on a whim after I had been overcharged at another vet clinic for one of my other dogs earlier in the day ($400 for a wellness exam, blood work, and an allergy shot). Thrive has a streamlined and efficient intake process while taking COVID-19 measures into consideration. Huge selling point- it took over an hour and a half at the other vet clinic. My pup Missy was in and out within 20-25 minutes. Shoutout to Tessa for being such a great Vet Tech. I could tell by Missy’s demeanor that she was comfortable and in great hands.
