Okay okay, maybe I jumped the gun on this one... my original review wasn't the best and I'll be the first to admit maybe my emotions were heightened at the time because of our sick pup. The interaction with the vet seemed rushed and maybe …

This clinic was amazing. We are new to the area and don’t have a family vet yet. Our dog was attacked by another dog just before Christmas and we took him to a different emergency vet as it was a Sunday. The emergency vet wanted to charge us another $120 exam fee just to take the staple out today and it would be a 4-5 hour wait. Tell Tail Veterinary Urgent Care had us in and out in 45 minutes, despite being fairly busy, and waived the exam fee because what we needed only took 5 minutes! The staff was very kind, friendly and professional with me and everyone who walked in. The doctor was kind too and came out to talk to me. I can’t recommend this urgent care clinic enough. They have a sister veterinary clinic that I will start taking my dogs to for all regular care because I was so impressed with this clinic. Absolutely 5 stars. I would give them 10 stars if I could! Thank you Tell Tail!

The vets and staff here are very kind. Newish to town and had to take my very elderly cat here for what ended up being an end of life decision. They offered me treatment options but didn't string me along on the likelihood of their success. Let me spend the time I needed to say goodbye even though they were busy, and treated me and my cat with compassion.

The staff here rocks! They took our baby girl in at 3:00 on a Friday. She need surgery for a critical situation and the team went right into action. Everything was taken care of by 6:00 and Nella is doing well. Thanks!

We were very grateful for the care shown by the team at Tell Tail. Dr. Whitford took the time to make sure we understood our cat’s medical situation, ask us what we aimed to get from the consultation, and then work through alternatives to arrive at a plan of action. She listened to our concerns and goals, addressed our questions, consulted with a colleague about one of the alternatives, and ultimately helped us to reach a decision we were happy with. A shout-out, too, to Shirley, who met us outside to bring our cat in and showed real care and empathy for us and him. - Finbar & Paula

The staff was very kind. My cat had a fever, wasn't eating. They had him all day on a Tuesday and I admitted him to VCA that evening as his fever was still high. Had abdominal US at VCA and 2 days but he's now home and doing well.

Cannot say enough about the vets and people working here. We were noticing our little Bella acting a little strange and losing weight. I knew something was terribly wrong I tried to find an appointment at her vet for a week. Finally toke her to urgent care and after running tests and X-rays her prognosis was not good. Plus she had a seizure. I was devastated to have to come to the conclusion to have her put down. She had mass cancer in her lungs. The Vet was amazing. And the people were so very compassionate and wonderful. A few days later the most beautiful condolences card came in the mail with all the workers writing a little something to our family. We were so touched. Thank you again for your human kindness.

Dr. Halsey took great care of my sick pup. She was thorough, considerate, and answered all of my (many) questions. Tell Tail will be my go-to urgent care vet as long as I'm in San Diego. Thank you, Dr. Halsey.

Excellent urgent care for Barkley when our regular vet couldn't see him. Great customer service, and did a great job explaining after care!

*** Wrote this review as I sat waiting. Was seen a couple weeks back. First, I made an appointment on their website. I got here for my appointment, just to be told they don't actually accept appointments, they're a "walk in" clinic. Websites shouldn't offer appointments if you're not taking appointments. I was told there was about an hour wait, fine. I'll deal. Second, I've been here for over 2 hours now. Hadn't seen anyone in an hour and my pet was doing a pee dance. She's here for urinary issues so I had to find someone to ask I'd they wanted a sample as I needed to take her out. They ended up taking her out and getting a sample. They also said she was next... it has been 30 minutes. The wait times are just insane. Thankfully I work from home and was able to sit here all day. They're not fast. They don't update you, no sorry we're behind, nothing. Pretty disappointing. We shall see how long I'm actually here. I might have to walk out. This is just too much. Only reason I gave 2 stars is everyone I did encounter was very friendly. The front desk manager was super sweet & so helpful. 2 hours 10 minutes, just took her back to see the vet. 2.5 hours came in with the estimate. 3 hours of being here. I told them I couldn't wait any longer & to please call me either blood results.

I am Sooo impressed with Tell Tail. My regular vet wasn’t able to see my pet for nearly 10 days but it became obvious we couldn’t wait. I called a few emergency/urgent vet care facilities & VCA (who I’ve used before) wasn’t able to see us …

My husky had some post neuter infection that was done at a different clinic. We took her to Tell Tail Vet and they took care of her right away. They cleaned her infected wound and sent us home with antibiotics. They also checked her ears and told us she had a ear infection that we weren’t aware of and they did a complimentary ear cleaning. They were the only clinic in the area that took us in right away and I couldn't be more grateful. Overall a little pricey but the quality of the service makes it worth every penny. I definitely recommend this location!!

Tess was wonderful as a front desk vet tech from phone call to finale she made sure banjo received the urgent and important care he needed. The new recent veterinarian did amazing job at calming us during this difficult time and did a double consult with the senior doctor to ensure he was going to be okay. This was the best experience we have had since his adoption.

This vet gave me the wrong medication for my dog and then made me pay for the new one. Annoying!
