I've been taking my animals (cats and dog) to Rancho Mesa Animal Hospital for about 15 years now, they have great caring staff. Veterinarians care for the wellbeing of the pets and don't over-prescribe the drugs, and never over advise on various procedures, I never feel pressured, which is great, and is one of the main reasons why I go there, I know they are not in it to make extra money (I've dealt with some pet clinics in the past, who were prescribing more treatments to get more money from pet owners) Their hours of operation are great, 6 days a week, except Sunday. One challenge I have, is they are so busy that sometimes it is hard to reach them, but they do call back pretty quickly if you leave them a message. I'm always able to get quick appointments for urgent matters. Also, they call few days after the appointment to check up on my cat, if she was prescribed a drug. I recommend everyone to come to this hospital. Great caring staff! ????

The office staff have gone out of their way to help me refill my dog's medication when I called last minute. I appreciate their concern for my pup. Thank you for being so understanding!

This is the only place I will take my animals the staff is awesome they all are very loving and caring with all are fur family.

I've been taking my dogs here for years and my business uses them when our clients dogs need their services. Rancho has always done right by us. They never seem to over-treat or over-charge and are sincere in the care they provide. It's worth mentioning that Veterinarians have a difficult job right now, especially with the country adding a considerable number of pets these past 2 years. They deserve your patience and appreciation.

My chihuahua is 15 years old and I’ve been going here when he was only 8 weeks old. We were referred from my college ex roommate who had a beagle for 8 years at that time. It was close to where we lived and inexpensive. Fast forward 15 years later, they are still the best. Their prices are competitive but their service has been the same, if not, better. The parking lot is tiny with about 10 spots and it’s really tight. Best to reverse in. Due to COVID, there’s a sign that asks you to text a number with your pet’s name, reason for the visit, your name and what color and make of your car. I got an immediate text reply that someone will be right out. The nurse came out and took my dog. I had prepared a written note with all my concerns that I had for my dog’s annual visit and gave it to the nurse. I waited patiently and got a call about 30 minutes later from Dr. Cooper. She went over my list of concerns and made sure all my questions were answered and was satisfied. Shortly after, I got a call from the front desk to retrieve electronic payment and then my dog was brought out. Overall, exceptional service from beginning to end. I highly recommend them and make sure you write down all your concerns since us “parents” aren’t allowed inside due to COVID.

And their prices for necessary treatments are very reasonable. The clinic is always clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We've taken our pets, both cats and dogs, to Rancho Mesa Animal Hospital for more than 3 decades. After we moved out of the neighborhood, we tried several other vets, but found it was worth the extra drive for the better care. They are attentive to both the animal's stress and the humans. When my puppy was too strong and stubborn for me to get eyedrops in each morning, they let me bring him in at no cost every day for a week.

My dog is pretty rough and hurts herself a lot. She really does well with the staff.

Update: I have an apmt now & spoke w/Angela who is...amazing. So glad I connected with her. She's very pleasant, attentive, understanding & helpful. I moved up to 4 stars. Hopefully all will go great w/the apmt as well. (Keeping the faith...) Let me say upfront I have yet to visit this vet. I'm a volunteer foster with a local organization who insists I bring my foster dog to one of their approved vets on their list (even though I did initially & they misdiagnosed my foster dog so therefore even prescribed her the wrong meds). When I've tried calling this office a couple of months back when I 1st took on my foster girl, it was frustrating as they don't answer their phone (as others have mentioned). I also was informed they don't have email access which honestly in this day & age I have never heard of such a thing @ a medical office...or any office for that matter. So far, I'm unimpressed...& also concerned if/when there is an emergency, will I be able to reach someone in a timely fashion. I'm hoping this will change if I ever make it in. Fingers crossed...
