Great vet, my cat loves them and they are very helpful!

I have taken my dogs to Dr. Gil for many years. I recently took my dog in to be seen by the veterinarian covering for Dr. Gil. He was very thoughtful and thorough, just like Dr. Gil. I feel our dogs have always gotten good care there.

The only Vet to go to in Mira Mesa ! Dr. Gill and his staff are compassionate and dedicated to the well being of all your pets. We have been taking our animals to American Animal hospital for what seems like a lifetime. We have always received the utmost respect and care for our animals. From Angel's very first shots , several mishaps with her best buddy Nikki to the moment she took her last breath ,everyone at American animal hospital became family to me. All I can do is thank them, and let them know how much they are appreciated.

Dr. Dave has been fantastic with our two new bull dogs. They came up from Mazatlan with some illness's. He has been so caring and professional with both of them. We could not of asked for more.

The staff is so on point, efficient, organized and informed. Although I have not met Dr. Gill due to the procedures of the pandemic, he is so thorough and calls me everytime my lil girl is being seen, discusses all the treatments and their costs before doing anything, I really appreciate that. He has been very accurate with his diagnosis and hasnt ordered a bunch of tests to drive up a hugh bill as some vets I ve seen in the past, ugh. So, I have been very happy with this Vet, I recommend him highly!!

I takes all my fur babies there. Staff are professional and friendly. Dr Gill are good with his work.

The crew at AAH are so friendly and helpful! I have been in more times than I would like, lately and they have been very accommodating with our emergencies. They are very reasonably priced, too. Since Covid started and the owners cannot go in, the vets actually call and explain in great detail what is happening, which is great!

I love everything about this vet clinic! First of all, they know you, second of all, they are super friendly. Also, their emergency system is very good and affordable! They have flexible openings and less hassle compared to Thrive since they are always booked out for couple weeks.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Save yourself time and money and take your beloved pets to a vet that actually knows how to properly diagnose the issue and has enough compassion to do their best to resolve it. This place is a complete JOKE

The staff were really nice and helpful. They were really helpful on the documents to take my pet overseas.

Great vet. Gets costumer service. My husky was sick and his usual vet didn't have any appointments for 2 weeks. AAH had n appointment available next day first thing in the morning and within 12 hours my dog was feeling much better with the combination of medication and food the gave him. Price-wise it is comparable to the vet I used to take him to (Thrive in Petco). Would recommend to anyone. Will be coming back.

Absolutely top notch. Staff and vets are caring and knows the latest in care for my 2 dogs. I would never go anywhere else. Family business with vets that feels like their my family. They take their time and answer all your questions and concerns completely.

When I call for an appointment, I can usually get same day service for routine exams, shots or minor procedures from a professional, caring staff.

I needed to get my daughters German Shepard Luca into see a specialist for a skin problem. The place I had been taking him couldn’t see him for almost 3 weeks. Animal Hospital was great, they would of taken him the same day I called but it was late afternoon so I got him in first thing next morning. All the staff was very pleasant with good humor to keep ya smiling. They treated him and now Luca is much more comfortable and at peace with himself which makes me very happy. If you love your pet, you will love them.

I am so picky when it comes to who takes care of my fur baby, Diesel, and this place deserves ALL the stars!! They are all so kind, knowledgeable, and thorough! Dawn has our heart- so professional and sweet. I always feel peace leaving Diesel with her, because he gets so excited!!

I took my little 13 year old dog, Lily, with a skin infection here for treatment. Received prompt and thorough care. Very reasonably priced too. Kind vet and assistants! AND! They didn't try to guilt sell me into a bunch of extra stuff. I will definitely be using their services again when needed!

Great Animal Hospital! It's very easy to make an appointment, either on the phone or through their website. They respond quickly and call you with a reminder a day or two prior to your appointment. The staff at American Animal Hospital are friendly and welcoming. I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes after arriving for my appointment. Dr. Gill is not only a skilled veterinarian but he is very patient as he listens to your concerns about your pet. You may feel that you are asking a stupid question, but you'll never feel that Dr. Gill is judging you at all. I trust Dr. Gill's expertise wholeheartedly. Taking our pets to the vet is emotional for both us and our pets, so working with an empathetic staff is very comforting. Another factor is the cost of pet healthcare. Veterinarian medicine has become very expensive over the years, but the prices at American Animal Hospital are very reasonable. I highly recommend AAH for anyone looking for a wonderful veterinarian.

It was difficult decision to take my 16 yr old cat to a new Vet especially since I wouldn't be allowed in with her to meet them due to the Pandemic. They were referred to me by my son, so I went for it. I was able to get her in right away and they were great over the phone listening to my concerns. They were able to do all the necessary testing and the Dr called me with the results and his recommendations as to medications and diet changes, he spent quite of bit time on the phone with me each time. They are a very caring Vet office and I couldn't be happier. My old girl is feeling much better.

I drive 30 minutes to get to father and son Drs. Gil. They are truly superior in the care they provide. I am always able to get an appointment in a timely manner with the front desk who are all helpful and kind. I also appreciate that I am able to call with basic questions without booking an exam and they are a one stop shop with every vaccine my dog needs and the ability to perform surgery. Their plans of care are reasonable and thorough but not excessive. I always leave feeling well taken care of! Highly recommend.

Smitty has gotten great care from Dr. Gill for 14 years, from kitten to senior. We recommend American Animal Hospital to all creatures great and small ;-)
