If you like being up sold and talked down to, you’ve come to the right place! My fiancé brought our dog for an issue that I have dealt with in previous dogs. I was unable to be at the full visit but at the end I asked to speak to the vet to try and understand her thoughts and explain her treatment plan which was different than what I have previously experienced. She proceeded to talk in circles about their protocol and I wasn’t able to follow. When I said I wasn’t quite sure I understand her position she said, and I quote, “I can see why it wouldn’t make sense it layman’s terms but I went to school for this.” And then proceeded to give me the same run around answer and tell me why we needed to pay for all of these other tests and more visits. I guess vet school doesn’t teach you how to treat people with respect. For the record, you can take a different approach to the treatment options but you don’t have to be condensing when explaining it.

Everyone is always extremely friendly to both my dog and I. They also do a great job of explaining everything and answering all of my questions. I’ve never had a dog that got excited going to the vet, but sure enough mine does any time we arrive at their office.

Gotta love getting a card in the mail with a bunch of the employees telling us they are sorry for our loss that our dog died. Our dog is alive and well. We don't come there anymore because we felt like they were always trying to prescribe a medication or play a guessing game with our dogs health. Our dog isn't even 2 years old yet. Terrible.

I called, asked for fees, I was given the fees as I requested and was notified immediately after, that a Dr visit without be required with an additional fee. No BS. Direct answer, with the relevant additional info right after. So fast, I had time to write a review. I got the run around at another clinic I called in PB. I like direct.

Great service and super friendly and helpful staff. We have taken the dogos to other vets, but this is the best and will be our first choice.

My 3 lb, 141/2 year old papillon was a regular patient at PBVet and today was hit by my neighbor’s car in our driveway. I rushed to the vet, 1mile away and they refused to see her. I begged and pleaded but they said I needed to take her to an ER. I asked if they could just evaluate her since she was a patient and the girl said the vet was at lunch. I said can’t you call her since you know her and she said no. I will never bring a dog to them again and highly discourage anyone from using them ever again.

I do not trust any vet with my pet birds , however Dr Keiss not only knows how to treat birds ,she understands them .

If you care about your pet, please do not take them here. Our puppy is now experiencing major complications because of the care it received at this clinic. Pumping antibiotics, not listening and horrible service.

We woke up with a dog who's light switch turned off all of a sudden on 6/18/2020. We were so desperate to get a vet visit to avoid thousands of dollars at the ER, and our normal one was booked until July. After calling 18 other vets who were booked 1 week to 4 weeks out, I just happened to call Pacific Beach Veterinary Clinic after finding them online, and they said they had an 8:00 a.m. appointment. HALLELUJAH! Not only that, the staff who answered were some of the kindest people ever. Our boy made it through the night and we headed over. We were sweetly greeted by the receptionist to complete paperwork, and from the get go everything was explained to us. Then Sergio came out to take our reports and take our pup in for observation. THE ENTIRE DURATION the staff were in contact with us to let us know what was happening, and even go over pricing prior to tests. We got the hardest call that we had to make a decision to put him down, and headed back. The sweet receptionist came outside to show us options for cremation. Then Sergio came out to show us to a private room where we were able to say goodbye for as long as needed. There was a sweet woman already snuggling with our boy, and we had our time. We let them know we were ready and Sergio and Elizabeth came in the room. The amount of compassion and explanation of what was about to happen was overwhelming. The tears shed not only by us but their staff was heartwarming. We are so thankful for the service and heartfelt actions during this tough process. I cannot express enough how I would highly recommend them.

It is hard to find a vet that doesn't screw you over! I love PB Vet and I highly recommend. Always friendly and my cat doesn't even hate the vet :)

Very pleased how my 13 month old was taken care of after tearing his dew claw. I will continue to use PB vet. This was the first issue for my little guy.

COVID MITIGATION REVIEW PB Vet has been my veterinary clinic for 4 years now and they are so friendly and helpful. They treat your animals like an extension of their own family and its clear how passionate they are for their work. I only give 4 stars because of how absolutely long it takes for them to see your pet. As with many vets, they have started coming outside to retrieve your pet from you. I have waited outside with my dogs for upwards of 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment, and that's on average. From my car I could see several other people pacing in place, waiting for someone to come out and take their dogs in. Hopefully they get comfortable with this new system soon enough.

It's COVID times. My dog was experiencing some serious post grooming trauma (2 days of shaking). I was desperate to find a vet in the San Diego area (normally we live in DC). After calling at least 10 other vets, this clinic squeezed him - a new patient - in the same day (a Friday!). From the front office staff to the vet tech to the vet herself, everyone was great. That was 2 weeks ago. My pup is now OK. Hopefully we won't need vet services in the near term, but glad to know where to take him if we do! Thanks PB Vet Clinic.

I have gone there for many years. My experience four years ago was with my dog Oso who had advanced cancer. They were very good with empathy and gave me a good referral for his condition with specialists. I’ve started again with them with my new adoption of Osito.

I cant brag enough about this office. They were part of the process that helped save our dog when he was a puppy from parvo. They genuinely care about every pet that goes there. They have also listened to me rant and helped me tremendously with an overseas quartine to Japan. The overseas process is not easy and each time iv bugged them about needing paperwork sent or needing it signed a certain way they've done it asap. If we ever return to San Diego this will be our clinic again for sure.

Dr. Keiss to the rescue again for my dog. My dog had a unknown reaction to something, that left her extremely lethargic and unstable. Dr. Keiss figured it out, and worked us into her schedule in short notice. Thanks. Tom.

We were camping and needed a vet for our dog. They immediately took her. Dr. Braunstein attended to her and also spoke with our Vet back home. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!

Flea / tick and heartworm medication is a lot more expensive than other vets but their service is great. Also, they are very generous with refunding the deductable for claims with your pet insurance provider.

????Overpriced Veterinarian! I do not recommend Pacific Beach Vet. There’s other Veterinarian offices priced more reasonably.
