I have been taking my dog to Governor Animal Clinic for years. The vets and staff are caring and professional. They do not pressure you or shame you if you question a test or procedure. Recently I had a wonderful experience that promoted me to write this review. My 10 year-old dog was not eating or drinking. I brought him in and the doctor could not find anything wrong. Instead of recommending expensive X-rays and blood tests right away (he just had blood work/fecal done a few months ago at his annual exam), the doctor suggested fluids and an anti-nausea shot and to bring him back for tests if he didn't improve. He came home and started eating and drinking and is now back to his old self. I drive from Carmel Valley to visit this clinic because I've tried several others and did not get this level of care and consideration and lack of up-selling!

Governor Animal Clinic is conveniently located at the University City Marketplace. The office is clean and tidy. The folks working there are all friendly and professional. Prices are fairly reasonable for the area.

I have 3 dogs and they are always getting into things. I call these guys they have an advisor that helps you through any situation. I really trust them and so do the dogs!!! I am just scheduling to update on shots I highly recommend them.

Amazing job taking care of animals while social distancing! They have a great system down to keep everyone safe and still provide amazing care to our pets!

Be very wary of this place. Unnecessary testing (titer test for dogs that never had the parvo/distemper vaccine), over priced, and unethical procedures (declawing and oversized neuticals for fun). Can't make this stuff up. However, if you have an ego, they will placate to it.

This is hands down the best clinic I have been able to take my puppies (and dogs) to. They are so kind and passionate about the work they do

Love! Love! Love!! From the staff to who I consider the best vet in the entire world — Dr. Kirk Feinberg — Governors has taken amazing care of my Oso every time. You don’t ever want to be in a position where you “need” a vet but it’s great to know I have a phenomenal one when I do!

Governor Animal Clinic took great care of my dog Ginger for over 8 years and they were amazingly gentle and thoughtful when we had to euthanize her several weeks ago.

We had our dogs’ teeth cleaned and had a great experience. The vet and Sue were excellent. They kept us informed and eased our fears. Highly recommend

I absolutely love this place. I have gone to plenty of vets, most were just a business. This place is much more. You could tell they loved what they were doing. I was very relieved by their actions and care, to both my cat and to me. This is my new vet.

I brought my cat in here for an emergency and they were so helpful and efficient. They explained the full extent of the injury and what the options were to treat it and gave me a cost for each part of the procedures. All the ladies were very sweet and I would highly recommend this place.

This is the best vet clinic in San Diego. Dr. Sorensen, Dr. Feinberg, and all the vets and staff are not only experts at what they do, but they love animals. I've been taking dogs and cats here for decades. When I moved farther downtown, I tried taking my animals somewhere closer, but they didn't have near the expertise, so now I take the extra time to drive my fur kids farther up the coast to Governor. Can't say enough good things about them.

I haven't found a vet I've liked this much in years. After taking my 19 year old cat to a vet in Mira Mesa and feeling unsatisfied with the visit, my friend highly recommend this place. And I do too! Every staff member was very personable, friendly and so helpful. Some vets just want your $, other vets are there for the right reasons. They are. We found out after bloodwork that my girl has kidney failure and cancer. The bill was a lot, but it made me feel better when they were willing to explain the details in depth and let us know what my cat truly needs and what she doesn't. I could go on for days with many more positive things about my visit! Thankful for honest vets like Dr. Marco!

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!! All of our dogs are seen at Governor. We have been using Governor for years and we have always had exceptional service!! Leanne (front desk employee) always comes out and gives our boys pets. Funny because she had the day off on our last visit and one of our dogs was looking for her. I told him Leanne had the day off and as soon as he heard her name he perked up and got all excited. :) He didn't get pets while waiting in the lobby but he sure did get lots of love when he saw the vet! Happy Dog, Happy Dog Mom!! Thank You Dr. Feinberg and staff!! We love you guys!!

I have gone to Governor Animal Clinic for years for my cats' and my dogs' care. The clinic staff are always professional (on phone and in person), kind and helpful. I have most experience with Dr. Kirkk Feinberg. He, in my opinion, is one of the best vets in SD. He is objective, practical (doesn't charge for unnecessary treatment), ethical and very professional. I would by all means recommend this clinic and the vets I have experience with.

I need to bring my pets to another country, which involves a lot of process. I asked more than five hospitals around La Jolla. This one is the most afforadble. Everything is going well. Our cat is a crazy one, but they seem to have a way to handle her. Our technician Tracy is awesome!

I just had the best experience imaginable at Governor Animal Clinic! My beloved 13-year-old Golden Retriever needed a tooth extracted but, based on past experiences, I was nervous about putting an older dog under general anesthesia. I also had concerns about the wisdom of giving certain vaccines to an elderly dog (another vet had insisted they be given to her prior to surgery). And, finally, I had some real financial limitations. The clinic I had frequented for years did not take Care Credit so I shopped around a bit, but could not find a veterinarian who really understood and sympathized with my fears and needs. On the very strong recommendation of a friend, I called Governor. From the first phone call to our first meeting, the staff were extraordinarily kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and understanding. I needed quite a bit of hand-holding, and got it in spades. It turned out my dog also had a benign growth in her mouth, and also needed a dental; but the staff took extra time and care to explain things to me, and did their best to make the procedure affordable. There was absolutely no shaming about my lack of financial resources; it felt like we were a team who put my dog's need first and foremost. I would like to give special kudos to Sara, Samar, Dr. Benitez, and Sue Stutz! You can tell these folks love what they do, and that they care about pets AND their owners. By the way, my Golden was jumping around and begging to be walked the very next day...

price: higher than average but with it location: convenient and never any parking issues (just off the 5/52) staff: all friendly and try genuinely to make things easier and friendlier doctors: all great, something for everyone so if you're not sure about your vet the first visit maybe try a different one next time. they are ALL wonderful and i have met with every one of them on different occasions with my multiple pets. they are all concerned with the welfare of your pets.
