I took my Labrador puppy there today. I’ve been in the animal industry for almost 20 years and this place checked every box. They were so compassionate and accommodated my overbearing dog mom needs. A HUGE relief to be able trust someone with my little DAVE. Thank you to Dr. Bone and staff for making us feel comfortable and providing the perfect combo of good vibes and high caliber veterinary care. So relieved that his surgery is over and we could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you!!!

Helped my pup out on short notice and I can't be happier

I found Del Norte Animal Hospital when we moved to San Diego and so far everything has gone very well with our two spaniels, Ella and Thor. Staff members are super friendly and the doctors spend a good deal of time with you and your pet. Thank you for giving our fur babies the best care!

They are currently under construction to expand the facility, so we have not been inside. However, the staff and the doctor are very friendly and would take the time to communicate the details.

This is my first time ever leaving a review of a business. I cannot say enough good things about this place - I have a very unpredictable schedule and each time I need to reschedule/call to make an appointment, the receptionists are SO helpful, kind and understanding. I was having a difficult morning before a specific visit (on the verge of tears), and the tech I dropped off my dog off to immediately consoled me and really took the time to connect with me on a personal level. I wish I remembered her name! Staff is always so kind, helpful, and very informative as it is so clear they have your pet's health as their top priority. Thank you so much!

I love this new vet - Dr. Bone is terrific - she really cares, spends a lot of time with us and acts as though as dog were hers. I would highly recommend.

Del Norte Animal Hospital has been the best vet we've been to. They honestly haven't missed a beat when it comes to the care and treatment of our dog and even us as the owners. I've never had a dog get excited about going to the vet before. Every single staff member that we have dealt with has been exceptional. They are personable and they absolutely love our dog. They treat him like part of the family and it's really nice to see such love and compassion. We bought the puppy package through them and it was such a great deal and set up for what puppies need in the first months of their lives. Beyond that, we've had a few additional health scares because our little one likes to get into mischief. They responded well to emergencies and got him in immediately and went above and beyond to make sure nothing was missed. After they have evaluated your animal, the doctor will personally call you and advise on their findings and possible treatment options. They even send you home with documentation from the appointment and an email document as well. Many times the doctor or staff will call and follow up a day or two after your appointment just to make sure your little one has either tolerated the vaccination just fine or how they were doing after specific treatment. Honestly, they really don't allow anything to fall through the cracks there. We don't have a single negative thing to say about Del Norte Animal Hospital and their staff - only positives! We highly recommend them!

Great team who really cares for your pets. My puppy was experiencing vomiting for a month until seen by Dr. Bone and her team. Now, my puppy has not had any vomiting spells and will continue all his care with Del Norte Animal Hospital.

Dr. Gillmeister and the team really came through with treating my dog the day before leaving on vacation for a week. Not only did they notify me of a cancellation for an earlier appointment but they also showed extreme care for my fur baby! I HIGHLY recommend this clinic for anyone in the area, especially residents living in the 4s Ranch apartments. Thank you again!

I'm a very paranoid dog mom of a golden retriever. A friend recommended Del Norte and I will never go anywhere else! Their staff is extremely responsive and they gave me a wide range of options (at different price points). Even during COVID, they offered drinks while you wait outside. Dr. Lidja is clearly very smart and professional, but her "bedside" manner is outstanding. I know my furbaby is in excellent hands at Del Norte!

Have been taking my GSD there since they opened. Absolutely adore everyone on staff. They are friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable. In a short time, we felt like part of the family.

I had a very emotional experience today with my my dying Cat Woody. I needed assistance with putting him to sleep because he was very ill. I called my Vet- Rancho Mesa Animal Hospital and they, like so many vets are not allowing pet owners into the clinic. So I was told to bring Woody there and drop him off and they would take care of him. i wanted to be with Woody when he passed. He was my fur baby. But I could not find a place to assist me. But my friend Breanne Varner recommended Del Norte Clinic because she had an email that they were doing in car euthanasia. I asked my vet if they would do that and I was told - the vets won’t go out to the car. So I called Del Norte and they were so nice. The offered to take us in 30 minutes. The staff was great and caring. Dr. Bone listened to me and then took Woody in for an IV. Then brought him back into my lap - and pushed the meds there where Woody was calm in my lap. He crossed over and was at peace. But so was I. I may have to change my vet to you Dr. Bone. Thank you, Janise, & Jun Zapanta and “Woody” RIP.

Our previous Vet just retired and we'd been seeing her since 2003. When our 8 month old puppy wouldn't stop throwing up after taking oral antibiotics prescribed by our previous Vet's new owners. DNAH offered an injectable solution for her delicate tummy; that was the ticket! So pleased with the doctors kindness and professionalism we are now switching to DNAH. What a sense of relief to have found a Vet so similar to our retired Vet.

I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re in an emergency situation.

This is by far the best vet clinic I have ever been to. Unfortunately, I had to put my baby down of 18 years and even during the covid crisis they were more than compassionate and accommodating. I also take my other two babies here and I can tell the vets here actually care. They take the time to answer all of your questions thoroughly, and even call themselves days after procedures to check up on your pet. I cannot thank them enough for taking such good care of my babies.

We've had our dog, Charlie, fifteen years and lived in five different states and Del Norte Animal Hospital and its doctors are the best we've ever had!

We have met with both Dr. Bone and Dr. Gillmeister, and they are both the most fantastic Veterinarians our dog has ever seen. Our dog Camilla, had a blood panel and her liver enzymes were elevated. Dr. Gillmeister recommended an ultrasound which found a liver tumor the size of a grapefruit. Without Dr. Gillmeisters suggestion, we would have never know. Since our dog showed no symptoms. Dr. Gillmeister referred us to a specialty hospital and the tumor was successfully removed. My wife and I feel Dr. Gillmeister and Del Norte Animal Hospital saved our dogs life. Thank you. Can't recommend this animal hospital enough! We had a small scare with our puppy Sasha over the weekend. Dr. Carrie Bone and her wonderful staff were able to see her the same day we called, on a Sunday no less! They addressed all of our concerns, built a comprehensive care plan, and also called the next day to see how our sweet girl was doing. Thank you again, Del Norte Animal Hospital!

Loved my first visit with Dr. Gillmeister! She was kind and attentive and listened to my concerns about my dog. She was very thorough and formulated an excellent treatment plan. The staff was courteous and friendly as well! Definitely coming back!!!

We unfortunately came to Del Norte Animal Hospital when our cat was very ill. He ended up needing to be put down. Dr Bone's care and compassion were outstanding. The whole staff was professional, kind, caring and supportive. They also sent a condolence card. When we are ready for our next pet, we will definitely be back.

The best vet! Carrie and her team are exceptional. I love out of the area but travel in due to the level of care. I am 100% confident when my pet is under their care.
