Dr. Elson was literally an answer to prayer. When it was time to say goodbye to our dog, Chloe, we prayed we would find the right vet to help us through the process. We looked at several options and read many reviews and selected Dr. Elson. She was kind, caring, and compassionate both with our dog and with us. She explained the process thoroughly so there were no surprises and was very gentle. Our Chloe departed very peacefully. We were also very impressed with the aftercare; Dr. Elson treated her body very gently and with great respect and care. We can’t imagine that anyone could have helped us through that unfortunate time better. We pray that God Blesses her as she helps other families say goodbye to their furry loved ones.

Dr. Elson was incredible from the start. When we called to make our appointment due to our elderly cat’s quality of life suffering from stage 4 kidney failure, she was so kind and ensured that we were informed of the entire process and what options for after the procedure we could choose from. The day of, she arrived and made sure our Jack was comfortable and that we were aware of the process and all of the stages that were about to take place. We were able to give him love and lots of pets and kisses and be there by his side in the comfort of our own home. I could not have asked for a better experience during such a difficult time in our lives. The care and compassion that she has is just so outstanding and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to do at-home euthanasia.

Dr. Elaine is top of the line and couldn’t be any better. She is very nice, professional and competent to go with her heart of gold. I can’t even imagine a better doctor to go through such a painful feeling process as putting down a greatly loved animal companion with. Her prices are very reasonable to boot.

Dr. Elson made an awful day be not so awful. She was incredibly professional and kind. She rearranged her schedule to make herself available. I would highly recommend her if you are faced with this decision for your pet. It removed so much of the stress not having to take our dog in to the vet.

Sondra was amazing. She was able to come to our home with only a days notice. We live in the back country so we were grateful that she was willing to travel so far. She explained everything that was going to happen so we would be prepared. She was tender with our dog and made his passing peaceful and calm. We were lucky to have her help with such a difficult situation. Thank you Sondra for bringing peace to our Scooter.

She was very compassionate and kind. Came to home, explained everything that she was doing and exactly what was going happen. She made a very hard thing more bearable. Even helped us search for a favorite toy because for some reason it was very important to me to have it close before it all happened.

Truly compassionate staff and services. Grateful for their caring assistance in saying goodbye to two of our dogs. Zoe over a year ago, and more recently Leelu. Peaceful transitions at home for both of our girls.

Losing your pet is an awful day. Dr. Elson was gentle, serene and comforting and helped ease our pain. I hope you never need their services, but know that they are there for you when you do.

Compassionate hearts where are wonderful. Especially during the most difficult time of letting go of your loved furry baby. They were kind caring helpful and worked within your parameters of having to let your furry baby go. I would certainly use this place again, hopefully not soon tho. Thank you compassionate heart for all your help. Rest in peace Peanut n Jelle~

Dr. Elson was amazing, very calm and professional and so caring. She came to our home and made us and our Tucker feel comfortable while she explained each step of the process and what to expect. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful way to say goodbye to our precious family member. I highly recommend Dr. Elson.

Dr. Elson was so kind and gentle. She explained the process thoroughly and made sure that my boy's transition out of this life was painless and peaceful. It was such a gift to be able to do this at home where he was surrounded by the love of his family.

Dr. Sondra Elson was wonderful. She helped us with our 15-year old cat, Karismo. We gathered the family for the euthanasia at our home. Karismo was a cool cat, known by everyone in the neighborhood who would stop and greet him. Sondra was so caring, explaining everything as we proceeded. It was important for all of us to be there at the home Karismo knew rather than take him somewhere else.

We can't thank Dr. Elson and Compassionate Heart enough. The thoughtfulness, the care and kindness that was provided in our last moments with our best friend Tangerine was so meaningful. The sympathy card that followed was so personal as well. We can't recommend them enough when you have to make this hard decision. Thank you again Dr. Elson ????????????

Dr. Sondra Elson has helped us twice now bring peace to our fur babies. Once a couple of years ago with our 16 year old retriever Scooter and now recently with our 16 year old kitty Chelsea. She has such a God given gift to help us humans bring compassion and peace to our sick, failing or old age fur babies. We are blessed to have her. She made very difficult situations much easier to handle with love and peace and inclusiveness of the entire family and our wishes. xoxoxox

It's taken me a while to write this because no one wants to talk about saying goodbye to your baby. I was alone my husband is in the Navy when I found out I had to say goodbye to my 2.5 year old boy. It was very unexpected but Sondra helped me through. She explained the entire process and made a very difficult and devastating experience much more tolerable. Not only was she there for me in the moment but about 2 weeks later she called to check on me and we had a sad but good half hour conversation. Unfortunately when the time comes for my other baby I will be using her again. Thank you Sondra!!

Thank you, Sondra for helping us though this tough time. We had to make the tough decision to put our sweet dog, Scooby down after 12 great years within. Sondra showed up to our house with a very calm, compassionate heart. She explained the entire process and what to except which was very helpful. The transition was very peaceful and afterwards she gave us extra time to say our final goodbyes. At no time did we feel rushed through the process. She gave Scooby and us the level of comfort we were needing❤️

Our beloved kitty had accumulated too many illnesses, and her quality of life had degraded too far. And she hated going to the vet. So we asked Dr. Elson to come to our home, to make her end in a familiar setting. Dr. Elson explained how it would work so that our cat could pass while still sitting in my lap, as she was used to doing. As hard as it was to say goodbye, Dr. Elson made our kitty's end very calm and peaceful. I really appreciate her service, professionalism, and demeanor.

Our poor cat's kidney disease flared up and he was not doing well. Over a week, he stopped eating and lost his sight. He was in a lot of pain. We are grateful to have found Compassionate Heart. The vet who came to our house explained the process beforehand so that it was clear to us. The procedure was pain-free for Snowflake. The whole process, as heart-wrenching as it was, went smoothly. Compassionate Heart runs a great business and truly cares about helping your pet to leave this world pain-free and comfortable. The cremated remains are kept in a beautiful wooden box that they supplied, and they even made us a clay print from one of his little paws. I highly recommend this business.

I'm so fortunate to have chosen in-home euthanasia for my beloved dog of 16 years. I can't begin to express how thankful I am for Dr. Sondra Elson. She was so sweet to our dog and made this hard process as stress-free as possible. Thank you for the love and care you provide. We appreciate you.

We have used the kind, experienced services of Dr. Elson twice to release our beloved pets from the pain of terminal illness. We had her come in 2014 and now in 2021. She is, as the business name states, compassionate to the extreme. She knows that choosing to put a cherished pet to sleep is an agonizing decision, and her gentle approach to both ailing pet and clients is amazing. Again, we were so impressed with her services that we called her back when it was time to let another pet go to the Rainbow Bridge. We do not hesitate to praise her professionalism, respectfulness and gentleness.

Dr. Sondra Elson came to my home bringing compassion, professional demeanor, and exceptional skill. She was able to help us all transition as we said goodbye to our beloved Labrador. Her experience was evident as she was able to explain and consider our emotional space. Eternally thankful.

I woke up today feeling so glad we chose Compassionate Heart help us with our 14 year old German Shepherd. As I look back on yesterday, as painful as it was, there was also a feeling like we gave Roxy the best experience we could. Roxy was never stressed throughout the entire process. Choosing the right time to help her cross over the rainbow bridge was so difficult. But when it was really clear that Roxy was ready, we reached out to Compassionate Heart. And I am so happy we did. I knew I wanted someone to come to our home since Roxy was a big girl and it would have been so stressful for her to be taken into a vet's office. So, I searched online and found Dr. Sondra. She made the entire experience perfect. She was so tender and kind with us (as many have said) but it meant so much at the time. She was so gentle with Roxy as well. I could go on forever and really can't say enough about how great Dr. Sondra is. I gave Dr. Sondra 5 stars on every front because she got back to us right away (which another company we called did not ever call us back,) her price was in the range that we had read about and could afford which helped a lot, and was on time which meant a lot too. I know it was time for Roxy and I have such a sense of peace today looking back on the experience that she was truly cared for in the best way possible. We will miss her so much but know that her life was perfect from beginning to end. I will always be grateful for Dr. Sondra and so glad she is able to help many others through the process too.

When it was time to make that final decision for my best buddy of nearly 18 years, I knew taking him to the Vet would be stressful. So, I called the vet and asked for a recommendation and Sondra with Compassionate Heart was their first choice. Sondra was very professional and very understanding of we were going through. Our dog, didn’t get nervous (not even a little bit). It is susceptible a hard decision to make. When you come to the conclusion that it is time, the easiest decision to make is to call Sondra Elton with Compassionate Heart San Diego!

Dr. Elson was very kind and detailed when discussing my dog's health and quality of life. I felt very reassured after my phone consultation that my dog would be in good hands when the time came. Two months later, my partner and I knew it was time to say goodbye. We called Dr. Elson and she was available next day at the time we requested. She arrived and explained the process slowly and calmly, while loving on our dog. She went step by step and made it the most peaceful experience possible. Thank you, Dr. Elson! <3
