Not only did this clinic, almost kill my dachshund who was dropped off for a Tooth extraction. They would not tell me what was going on when I called ready to pick her up 5 hours after surgery. And turns out they had her heat pad because she almost died.

Would never recommend this place or take another animal. They sold out to VCA...and it shows. Refused a number of times to get us in for urgent case, takes weeks, no urgent scheduling. Then, we got our dog in for a severe infection in her mouth...they refused to look closely or do dental inspection without her having a repeat echo (she had just had one 6 mths earlier and was FINE). So they booked her 3 months later. In those three months it turns out she had cancer, the infection smell became intolerable with her bleeding everywhere all the time from her mouth, and by the time she was finally seen again she had 2 weeks to live and couldn't eat or drink by herself. Complete negligence on Dr. Imig's part. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Not only did they miss oral melanoma, she didn't treat the intense infection and unbearable bad breath making it near impossible to enjoy those few months we could have had.

I have an old dog. She has little to no medical history. I can't get ahold of it for logistical reasons and kind of had her placed in my hands. She hates traveling and didn't enjoy the vet. That's ok though, it's expected for animals to not like the vet. The doctor was busy, so a tech assisted us when we came in. Sign in was quick for my first visit. They understood my concerns and started off with a basic medicine for her. She didn't seem to notice the shot. Already, she's got some energy back. She wasn't lethargic, but wasn't 100% either. They practice good judgment here. The lobby looks like someone's house. Less hospital, more comfy. They have an exotic vet that comes in. Be sure to schedule an appointment for that. Sadly, I didn't do that and lost a pet snake. I see it as no fault of their own. It gets expensive and hard (especially in 2021) to have certain people on 24/7. It's an easy to miss parking lot, but it is worth the visit. I'd say Ashley would rate this place 5/5 tail wags if she knew what was going on. They worked with my budget and we didn't go over by much.

I took my little dog Peanut to Country Oaks on Friday for the first time. Peanut does not normally like strangers and sometimes will nip them. I was going to muzzle him for the Vet Techs safety but she didn’t want me to because of the heat. I handed him to her and he was fine with her and with the others in the clinic. To me this says a lot about how caring they are for their patients, that he would feel that comfortable with them. Additionally they were relatively inexpensive. Because Peanuts visit was not for just a checkup I expected my bill to be higher than what it was. I will definitely recommend Country Oaks to others. ****UPDATE**** Since I posted my review I have learned that this is now a VCA Hospital and the reviews that I have been reading are not good. The customer service is just not the same, as usually happens when a corporation takes over a small business. I will not be taking my animals back to this facility.

I was referred by my son. I came the first time with my elderly cat. Unfortunately they found she had cancer. I had to bring her back very soon to have her euthanized. The experience was so peaceful and they made the whole process very comfortable for my sweet kitty. I had to euthanize my other elderly cat two weeks prior at another hospital and it was horrific. I’ve since acquired 2 kittens and brought them in. Again the techs and vet were so gentle with them and the whole visit was a ???? positive experience. This is my new vet without a doubt????

When I took my dog in for an annual exam, the vet said he looked fine. Then I asked to look in his ears and sure enough he had a yeast infection. I had even told the receptionist that was why I was taking him for his annual exam! I'll continue to refill my Rx that I have already been seen for, but will need to find a new vet soon. I wonder what happened to this place they no longer can provide the care I used to receive a few years ago, of course blaming COVID for poor customer service.

Wonderful experience. A vet who immediately gave us possible diagnosis of Cushing. Had been taking Finn to VCA with no resolution or even possible diagnosis. Even though his symptoms all point to Cushing. Thank you!

I had lots of questions about a very fearful small dog. The staff was very kind and helpful. More importantly, everyone worked to keep my dog calm. She made it through a whole check-up without any fear-aggression, which had been a struggle at our last vet.

First of all, so thankful they take hamsters because it’s been difficult to find a vet that will see hamsters. appreciated how kind and friendly every person i spoke to was and i also appreciated how the vet was very transparent with me not only about the risks involved but also the cost and didn’t pressure me one way or the other. Also they texted me pictures of s’mores after and told me she was sweet and honestly it made my entire day. Great service and they saved my baby.

The staff at COPH are truly wonderful. The focus is on a fear-free experience for my dog, who has some anxiety and fear issues (he had a rough start in life). They are so gentle and kind at Country Oaks, and Dr. Chu is compassionate and communicates very clearly. My dog is happy and relaxed after his appointment there. All vets should operate like COPH! I recommend them whole-heartedly.

We are so happy with the improvement in our ancient cat, Emily, after her first visit where she returned to us in a calmer state than we she went in! She returned the following day for her “spa” visit to remove awful matted hair that needed to be professionally removed but had not been done during worst of COVID. She looks like an adorable mini lion or a Star Wars troop mover but we think she’s perfect. After a few days on thyroid meds she is already eating a more normal amount of food . She is like a cat that is 10 years younger. Before she went into see Dr Irene she sleep most of the day. Now she is prancing around the fenced safe backyard!

All of the staff at Country Oaks are genuine, caring people. Dr. Johnson has such great instincts as a veterinarian and my pets always receive the best of care. What impresses me most is how responsive they have been during the pandemic and the quick adjustments they have made to ensure patient, client, and staff safety. LOVE this place!

My boyfriend brought our cat to this pet hospital due our cat peeing outside of the litter box and dilated pupils. He informed the vet that she did not react to the laser pointer and that it appeared her vision was compromised. She was also suddenly aggressive to our other cats. They took bloodwork for a possible UTI and gave her pain medication. Discharge paperwork reported her vision as "normal" and vet determined that she likely got into a fight with one of our other cats. Two days later, we brought her to UCD hospital and it was found out that she is completely blind due to an infection behind her eyes. The vet obviously did not even check out her eyesight. We have attempted to contact them twice afterwards and they told us that they will have a manager call us back, not returned call. Do not come here. Poor care.

Our puppy was sick with parvo and several intestinal parasites and hospitalized for 5 days with another clinic. A couple days after she was home she was still not eating and drinking on her own and had a cough/sneeze. I had called the other vet to express my concerns and they ordered fluids for me to pick up which I just couldn't wrap my head around because I was worried about the possibility of a respiratory infection secondary to everything else since she was only 2.5lbs and so at risk from having parvo virus still. This vet office got her in, listened to all of my concerns and when Dr. Johnson called after her exam he expressed everything I was worried about as a reason to give her extra nutritional support, antibiotics to prevent a pneumonia infection and explained that she may be down another week or so because she has to recover still. The worry that we've spent on this puppy was greatly eased by the time and compassion he showed us in answering our questions and addressing all of our concerns. It's only been a couple days but she is doing great and even becoming rambunctious like a normal puppy. We are so glad we found this clinic and so thankful for the attention they gave our girl!
