My mare, that I owned since she was an embryo, died at 33 years. This animal was my best friend. Two years on and I'm still tearing up. They took excellent care including picking up her body. They returned her and also gave me a plate with her hoof print and her tail interwoven with colorful ribbons. They were really kind. Andrea

We had to say goodbye to our kitty, Jones, recently. We decided to bring him to Regency for his after-life care, and it was an amazing experience. We have had pets all of our lives so have also worked with several after-life care companies over the years. The care we received from Kelly, Angelina, and the other folks at Regency was exceptional, and far superior to the other places we have worked with. Angelina made us feel right at home, was very sympathetic to us in our time of need, and lovingly treated our kitty like he was her own. We were able to sit with Jones in a very nice family room and say our last goodbyes. We were never rushed or made to feel like we needed to hurry up. The ashes and memorial items came back to us within two weeks, and we smile every time we see Jones's paw prints in the stepping stone. It is very obvious that everyone at Regency genuinely cares about their clients. We appreciate everything they did to help Jones and us. We are forever grateful to the professional, loving care we received here.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place, I dealt with Malania, I was in a really sad place when my dog died, knowing that I was going to have him home permanently made me feel so much better, I was worried about the process and the length of time until he was back home with us, Malania said two weeks! It was exactly that! Of course we would like our babies back with us sooner, however there’s thousands of pets out there and we have to just wait our turn when businesses like this are needed. Patients is a virtue and when people are running a business as long as they keep their word and even if they don’t constant communication is all that’s needed. Hopefully I won’t need to use them any time soon, however I will be recommending them to anyone that’s in need. ????

Our dog Tony got sick suddenly with no previous signs of illness. We had to euthanize him at Vista Veterinary. He died on a Friday night. I was told that Regency did pick ups twice a week and that they will give me a call in about two days. I got a call that Monday that he had already been picked up. I chose the services I wanted and I was told that he would be ready for pick up in two weeks. He was actually ready in less. I believe 8 days. I picked him up and everything was just as requested. I was scared that they may misplace him or have me wait due to the other reviews, but my experience was very pleasant.

Our baby girl died 7/3/21, Vista Veterinary Hospital said that Regency Sacramento would be taking her to be cremated. I called a week later, as they hadn't called to give us our options yet, had to leave a message after many unanswered rings. Called back 2 & 3 weeks after no answer. Someone finally called back and said she would be ready in 10 days. Called back after 10 days, now they are saying she will be ready in a other week. We are still mourning, and I feel that we can't even have any closure bc she's still out there, God knows where?! I completely understand the high volume issue, I completely understand the staff shortage issue, but why is it impossible to tell the owners/pet parents what is happening/going on instead of keeping us completely in the dark. *update* I felt the need to change this review, they reached out and made a effort to make things right. I really appreciate the fact that they did so. From 1⭐ to 2.5⭐ If you are reading this, I'm so sorry for your loss. This is a huge aftershock from the pandemic, and not the business' fault entirely, they will have to, like other businesses, have to focus on hiring and retaining employees, especially those that take time to train for all their job duties.

10/10 would recommend. Having to make the phone call for this type of service is so hard but from the beginning to the end I felt that my dog and I were in great hands. Dave and mary were extremely gentle, kind, and respectful. The box, paw and nose prints I received were very high quality. Excellent company with excellent customer service.

Poor communication and record keeping. My baby died on July 5th and I was told to expect a call within a few days. It was over a week before they called. They went over my options, and I opted for a pawprint stone with custom engraving (my cat's name and birth/death year), fur cutting, and a group cremation. I didn't want the ashes back. They read all these details back to me to confirm, then took my credit card info and said they had a high volume and it may be a few weeks, but they would call me back. Five more weeks passed and I still hadn't heard back, so I called them. They told me they'd "check in the back" and call me by the end of the day. They did not call. The next day (yesterday) I called back and they said my cat was ready for pickup and I could come today. When I went, I was given a box of ashes, no pawprint stone, no fur cutting (basically, the opposite of what I asked for). They then asked for my credit card info, because they weren't sure whether they had charged me. I went through my credit card transactions and they hadn't charged me, but I said I had given them my card info and they said okay they'll check for that and call me if they need to charge me. When I discovered I had been given ashes and no stone, I went back to see if there had been a mixup, but they claimed to have no record of my request for a pawprint stone and said something vague about the "old admin system" to dismiss the credit card confusion. As another reviewer said, I can understand being understaffed and a stressful job. But just communicate updates as often as possible, and don't leave people in the dark. I don't mind a delay if you say so! And keep basic records like credit card info and owner's requests. I'm honestly not sure the ashes I was given even belong to my cat, and feel like there was just a massive mixup and they just gave me some ashes just to give me something. This has made the mourning process longer and more confusing and stressful. Now I have to decide what to do with these ashes and whether or not I want a stone that has no pawprint. The staff were empathetic and calm but seem very disorganized and misinformed.

**WARNING! AVOID!*** Also avoid Vista Veterinary Specialists and any vet that uses this service! We dropped off our 11 yr old black lab Jameson at Vista Veterinary Specialists on Greenback Ln, Sacramento, CA. They are the emergency vet for after hours from our usual family vet. Jameson had passed away at home and we called Vista. We were told to bring him in to drop off for cremation. When we dropped him off and paid Vista for the cremation services we were adamant about asking about the paw print. They told us Regency handles the cremation and would call us about getting the paw print. Regency called us two weeks later to give us our options and we paid over the phone. We just now learned they cremated Jameson before they got the paw print!!! I lost my first dog I had for 11yrs! I paid Vista $140 to cremate to Jameson to find out I have nothing to remember him. It is bad enough I lost my dog but to not have anything to show for it I am mortified!!! Someone will answer for this!

I am absolutely distraught and traumatized after my family’s experience with this company. Our beloved dog passed away on 7/8/21, and our vet notified us that they are contracted with Regency and will be handling the cremation process. We did not think that we would need to worry, as we had just overcome the hardest part of losing our dog. Unfortunately, it went completely down hill from there. After a month and a half of waiting, my mother finally got the call that we could pick up our baby’s ashes, however, we were also notified that they were unable to get his paw print and that they just cremated him… I AM SORRY, WHAT!? They explained that “due to the heat wave, they couldn’t get it”. I am not sure exactly what the heat wave has to do with anything or how they were unprepared for the Sacramento heat, considering ever summer is hot here. We tried to get a better understanding of the situation but was only provided with the heat wave interfered with getting it. Even if the material wouldn’t take, I would have at least preferred that someone called to give us options (ink print would have been just fine). But no instead they cremated our baby and then called to say that they would offer a pendent instead. Completely distraught and left with no other option, we accepted it. On Monday 8/30, we were told that Ozzy would be dropped off at the Vet the next day 8/31. So my stepdad went on 8/31, only for the Vet to say that he wasn’t there and that he would be delivered tomorrow. Already irritated with Regency, he called to see why there was a delay.. They then told him that Ozzy would not be available to pick until Thursday, despite saying on Monday that he would be ready for pick up on Tuesday 8/31. This was the final straw, the inconsistency and lack of empathy from this so called business has made the grieving process even more traumatic. After explaining how unacceptable their actions have been, the person said that she would make a “special delivery” on Wednesday to make up for the confusion. Their business is completely unprofessional and I highly recommend that you do not allow your vet to partner with this crematorium after your pet’s passing.

Thank you Regency for taking such good care of my beloved dog, Oliver. Mimi you are a jewel! I appreciate all you did. We received Olivers cremains within a week, and the box and pawprint were beautiful.. Thank you so much for everything during such an emotional time.

Our fur baby passed last night and we called around for a place to cremate her and found Regency - treasured pets they are the nicest people and very helpful in making all arrangements for our Fiona. I hope nobody has to use their service but if your in the Sacramento area there maybe other Treasured pets around but in Sacramento this is a great place I recommend them 100%

It took almost 2 months to get our baby boy back. To make matters worse they forgot to get 2 ink paw prints of our Koa which we paid for.. How can ANYONE not want a paw print of their beloved animal, they obviously didn’t bother taking a look at the invoice to see what we paid for. When we went to get him, they couldn’t even find his remains for 30 minutes. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE for cremation. We only had him transferred there as our dog passed at Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center in Rancho Cordova and that was the dog crematory they used. Devastating lesson learned. Do not use them!

DO NOT USE, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED! Asked for paw print stone and got paw print on paper. Should have read the reviews. This was my loving boy of 16 years. Wanted his stone back and they took it away from me. What's worse, they don't care.

Regency Sacramento Treasured Pets is great! They make sure the ashes you receive are those of your pet. A special thanks to Kelly Sadur who saw to it we received a box with inscription on it even though the vet hospital where our beloved dog died only arranged for plain boxes. Kelly fed-exed the box right to us and was very kind and understanding. I really appreciated this.

Please do not do business with this company, you will be heart broken. After a month, we were told our dog's remains were shipped and lost. A day later they magically found the remains. Upon retrieving the remains, we found that the paw prints we ordered were not included, likely because they did not do them. At this point we are sure they did not complete our order as requested and likely have a box filled with random animal remains.

WARNING!! Please do not do business with this company! My dog of 12 years "Chase" passed on June 22, 2021 and we handed him over to Beacon Veterinary Specialists in Fremont for cremation. It has been almost 2 months and my dog's ashes has not been returned to me still. The vet used the cremation company SACRAMENTO REGENCY aka TREASURED PETS. They don't know when my dog will be returned to me and keep on giving a run around and false date information. Our pets are family and deserve dignity in their lives as well as their death. Unfortunately places like these are no more than a money making endeavor. I don't know if I will ever get my dog's ashes back but this was a bad decision I will forever regret. It breaks my heart and I am hoping my review will save other people the heart ache and frustration I have gone through. Fraud and abuse of Trust! Shame!

I will never recommend Treasured Pets/Regency to anyone. They never answer their phones and returning phone calls is a challenge for them also. My Rocky was put down on May 29th and I was advised it would take 10 days for the cremation to be completed. After numerous messages/phone calls I was finally promised by Will that it would be completed by today. It was so hard losing our beloved Rocky and to go through this made it worse. Vista Vet contracts with this company and I would recommend that no veterinary hospital contract with them as it is a reflection in them also. So today, I was supposed to have my Rockys ashes and again I am let down to go another day without closure. I just don't understand how this company stays in business. How do I get help in resolving this and how do I trust that I am really goinf to get my pets ashes when all faith I have in them is gone.

I had to make that very hard decision. I was helped by Chrissy Randall from Regency. She was very caring and thoughtful she helped me get through the process of having my little Sammy cremated. I am very impressed the customer service I received at my time of need. I just want to say thank you Chrissy for all you have done. You are truly a blessing.

The staff at Regency was very accommodating, respectful and kind while completing our sweet dogs cremation arrangements. They went over and above to meet our schedule. The staff provided their personal touch to the process of picking up my dogs remains. Mahalo for your kindness. I would highly recommend Regency !

A loss of a beloved pet is unbearable! And to be separated is traumatic. I can’t express how Chrissy, was comforting and assuring he was well kept with his last days on earth. Regency went beyond their call of duty by delivery him without cost to my front door. I live 2.5 hours from their office. Yes! 2.5 hours! Will(driver) presented my beloved dog so beautifully. He arrived in a beautiful wooden orange urn with a footprint stone, his clipped fur and footprint cards. As I clung onto my dog sobbing, I saw the Rainbow Bridge post card which was included and knowing my 21-year-old Cocker Spaniel is no longer suffering. Run Free Chauncey. Mom loves you with all her heart.

Our little rescue dog Rosey meant the world to us, she was our child! She was picked up from the vet on 1/20. Around that time I was contacted by Destiny (if I am remembering her name correctly) from the front desk. She was kind and helped set up the arrangements for a private cremation. I asked that I be contacted prior to when they would preform her cremation for peace of mind. While they normally offer witnessed cremations, they were unable to due to COVID-19. The person in the office said it was not something they normally do but that they would put a note in the file and try to be accommodating. I would check in periodically to see how things were progressing and nothing had changed. Then on 2/1 I called and they informed me that she was in the "packaging process". When I asked what this meant the receptionist told me that "she was settling into her urn". I inquired as to why I was not informed before they cremated her and she said that because she was done on the prior Saturday no one could have called me because the office was closed and the crematory technicians where the only ones working on that day. She also had the audacity to say that they "had never promised anything" like what I was asking was a major inconvenience ☹. A simple fix to this solution would have been doing her cremation the day before on that Friday or some other weekday during the 2 WEEKS that she sat in their facility. Not only was I heartbroken, the fact that no one could take one minute of their time to call me, as was noted in her file for OVER 2 weeks, was unbelievable. Additionally, the thought of my baby sitting in a freezer for 2 weeks before they took the time to get to her weighed heavily on my family and is simply UNEXCEPTABLE.???? I understand that they are busy (at one point the lady at the front desk told me they do 400-500 pets per week, which was unsettling enough) but I as I expressed to the employee on the phone, working in this business requires compassion and the ability to empathize with others. At one point they assured me that they are all pet parents there so they treat each pet as if they were their own. I acknowledge that I was requesting something they don't normally do, however, I was not asking a lot. If they truly did care about their clients, they would have taken the time to make one simple phone call. Anyone that works there, whether they are office staff or a technician, should have the ability to pick up the phone. It was the last thing I asked for and after paying hundreds of dollars for their services, I am so utterly disheartened with the blatant lack of compassion I was shown during such a difficult time for me and my family. We went with this company because the vet hospital was contracted with them but we will not be doing that again. The man who helped us when we picked up her remains was very kind, I just wish my final wishes for my pet were respected and honored!

It took almost a month for us to get out pets remains back from Treasured Pets. We were told in the beginning it would take 7 - 10 days; we prepared ourselves mentally for this timeframe. 10 days went by without any communication. I called and had to leave a message (they never pick up their phone). When I received a call back, they said it would take another 7 - 10 days. 10 days passed without any communication. I called again and left a message. When they called back, they said our Pets remains should be shipped out by the end of the week from the Bay Area (We live in Sacramento - 90 miles away - not sure how our pet got from Sacramento to the Bay Area). Treasured Pets prolonged our emotional pain and the start of our healing process. I would never use them again. Please pick up your phone when grieving customers call - we are emotionally prepared to talk at that time we call - not when you decide to call back! I do give them credit for the nice box she was returned to us in and for having the forethought of requiring a signature when delivered instead of just being left on the doorstep for porch pirates to take.

My boy Yogi had to be put down because of cancer and the VCA offered Treasured Pets as the cremation option. Once Yogi was at peace it took about 2 weeks for my boy to come home to me and the urn they put him in was very nice. I didnt have any complaints.

One month ago, my beloved pearl pet Mr Fluffy passed on. ???? T/P services were very good , showed sincerity and were prompt and professional. I felt the warm welcoming when I entered the premises with my beloved pet, I've had since he was 3 months old. My family are animal lovers and I would definitely recommend Treasured Pets. Thank-u!

Treasured Pets cremated three of my family pets. First two times were awesome experiences! Third time, however, the person that helped my dad didn't explain that there were different "options" to purchase for our beloved doggie. So when Dad came home without the paw print for my dog, we were all disappointed. Currently, this is the fourth pet we are commemorating. So far, we left two voice-mails AND continued to call on the apparent "immediate need" line. The only reason we were able to get in touch with anybody was because we continuously called until somebody picked up, and this was YESTERDAY. Today, my deceased beloved doggie HAS STILL NOT BEEN PICKED UP and has been in my vet's freezer for 3 days. Right now, at the time of this posting, I still have not been able to get in touch with a representative from Treasured Pets, aside from yesterday... I am sorely disappointed. I know that businesses aren't perfect, people aren't perfect, but this has gone far enough for me to decide to post about it. I am not sure if my parents will continue to reach out for TP services. I certainly won't. Overall Grade: F
