I don't think this place is in business. I have left messages on the nasty sounding answering machine, but no one calls. I drove buy and it's locked up. There was a homeless guy getting ready to bed down, at 1:15 p.m..

Dr. Frank has always done right by me and my animal companions. Although a lack of staff does sometimes cause a delay in service, he is very thorough and caring. Prices are fair. If speed is not your top priority, I highly recommend trying to get an appointment.

Dr. Frank comes from a long line of vets. His father, also a highly educated, trained, competent vet, was my neighbor. Grandfather also was a veterinarian. Dr. Frank does try to keep costs to a minimum. Some people may not like the office hours/days, or lack of staff, but, they sure do like the cost to treat their pet, and the competence of Dr. Frank! So, in order to give clients a more than fair price to have their pet treated, Dr. Frank decides on what hours he can (he’s human, you know?) work, and what hours to “employ” his super efficient, professional, knowledgeable assistant/receptionist/office manager, Vanessa. Others may think a “one doctor office” with a “one staff“ assistant, receptionist, scheduler, biller, accounts receivable, autoclaver (sterilizing instruments), etc...etc...etc...can not possibly be efficient? I am telling you it is possible (I did the same for a general practitioner and surgeon for 5 years), and it is how this office is run! My M.D./general surgery employer/physician was semi retired and worked 4 hours each day, 4 days a week. Wednesdays were my day to perform EKGs, sterilize instruments, order supplies, schedule pharmaceutical representatives (for free medication samples to “gift” to patients), schedule “outside treatment” specialist appointments for patients, schedule surgeries, and, catch up on any billing leftover from the week. My boss might use this day to come in, at his leisure, and catch up on work I would place on his desk (for review, signature, follow up). I scheduled 30 patients (not including walk-ins) Monday and Tuesday mornings, and Thursday and Friday afternoons. This ran like clockwork. He saw 120++ patients each week. He (and I, as his Medical Assistant), would often times perform simple surgical procedures such as removing cysts, polyps, benign masses, suturing, splinting, “freezing”, “burning” skin growths, tags..assist with ob/gyn Pap smears (send slides to lab after appropriately preserving sample, and so much h more. I learned a tremendous and invaluable amount watching, and assisting. What I’m saying is a “one man show”, or a “one woman show” can and, does, work!! Quite efficiently, and, professionally, in fact! With my background in medicine, I feel competent in writing my review of this veterinarian and office/staff. Dr. Frank will give your pet AMPLE attention, and, explain everything to you thoroughly. Does this take time? Yes. He is not focused on a “assembly line” of clients. He is focused on providing the best care for your pet, and for you. You, in order for you to help your pet, and to be able to follow up with your pet’s treatment plan. To me, this is invaluable. He can help your pet, but, he knows (in order for your pet to be healthy) you, the owner, should/may require consistent dietary/lifestyle changes, schedules. This is why he is thorough in explaining to you what is going on, and what is best plan for future to care properly for your pet and what is best for your pet’s overall health. God bless this man for NOT prioritizing money first, before treating your pet, as other vets, and even your own personal physicians/surgeons do! For 90%, if all populations, professions, it’s ALL ABOUT MONEY. I see this in EVERY occupation, from Veterinarians, Dog Groomers, medical field practitioners, dentists, sales representatives, handymen, carpenters, contractors, etc etc etc...and, even homeopathic healers (acupuncturists, acupressures, massage therapists) and the list goes on, and on...So, when you find someone like Dr. Frank, and, Vanessa, you’d better hold on tight, because he is a rare gem AND easy in your budget. I love animals. I’ve written a novel here. It took a great deal of my time. I’d also do the same when providing a negative review...because some I’m very passionate about! I feel I should share with others when I’ve discovered “a gem”, and share when I’ve discovered “a rotten tomato”. Dr. Frank is, simply put, the BEST. You’re welcome!

This is a very personable vet clinic in which the veterinarian really cares about pets. It's also the most affordable clinic I've come across.

You wont get better care, for your pet, than Northgate pet hospital. Dr. Frank is the best! And very reasonable in price. To get our dog neutered at U.C.Veteneray school of medicine, they want $1,500.00. Dr. Frank, at Northgate, about$150.00.

Very rude, unprofessional, always wanting to upsale on shots and meds that aren't needed. They gave my dog 6 parvo shots.. totally unnecessary. The vet is very unprofessional saying bad words and saying he's going to fire her as*(talking about his secretary) An appointment for two shot took 3 hours because the veterinarian wouldn't shut up. I don't know what his deal is. They don't give a tag for rabies only a certificate. I went to them under the idea they are cheaper, but they really aren't. My current vet gives shots in less than 10 minutes. Please look elsewhere.

If I can I will give them a -5 star came in today 12/2/2019 for a emergency, 2 day old pup got bite by his mother. He is cry, whining and screaming from the injury and pain and the doctor can cleary hear him becuz we are less than about 8 feet from one another. He say he cant take wall in and only appointment. Not only that but there is only on doctor in. No other staffs. If they are going to run a pet hospital at least hair more people.

I’m completely satisfied with the Veterinarian, Francis, he completely went out of his way to help my dog. His secretary even spoke to him and managed to fit us in last minute due to my dog’s critical condition. He truly is knowledgeable, helpful, authentic, kind and compassionate about the animals and towards his clients. He also explained everything well and also made our visit affordable. I truly recommend him and I wish there was more honest and compassionate veterinarians as him.

I want to start by saying that Dr. Frank saved my cats life. We initially came here because he was the cheapest in the area for putting your animal down... we walked in and we're helped almost immediately by Vanessa, who was courteous to our needs and emotional state. Dr. Frank conducted a final check up for our cat, and was able to diagnose a problem that 3 other vets before him had not even bothered to try without expensive chemical testing. He took the time to accurately diagnose our cat, provide VERY AFFORDABLE care/surgery, and even kept the option open to put our cat down if he was wrong. The man knows what he is doing. You rarely find someone with the knowledge and skill that he has. Don't be turned away by the area/look of the building, this is one of the best vets in the Sacramento area
