Great service, friendly staff. Due to Covid-19, we all had to wait in our cars and the technician checked me in by phone. She came out to get my dog when they were ready to work with her.

I established my dog in this office 2 years ago. In the past year it has become very chaotic to say the least. I am sympathetic to ever evolving protocol due to Covid- that is our reality. However the confusion and miscommunication, on top of very poor attitudes and responses have ended my relationship with this office. I had a week long email argument to obtain a receipt and updated records that resulted in the doctor eventually having to reach out- it was all deeply unnecessary. Now I am getting calls about a "past due bill" although payment has always been due at time of service and collected (I will not even get into the ongoing upcharges here- my dog is worth whatever price to me). If a front office is that chaotic and RUDE, I do not trust my animal care in that environment. Period.

The care, compassion, concern, and kindness that we receive here, EVERY TIME, is the reason we love East Sac Vet!! Thank you Dr. Collins for all you and your staff do for our family!

I was very impressed with this office!! The Vet even came out to talk about our dog. They called the next day to follow up on him to make sure he didn’t have any reaction to vaccines. So glad we were referred to them!! ????????????

Extremely disappointed in our visit and correspondence with this veterinary Center - please read if you're considering switching vets. The following occurred in March of 2021. First, they told my husband that our three cats would only take 30 minutes and to wait in the parking lot. He was there for a total of 3.5 hours, and not one person came out to let him know why he was waiting so long. Annoying, ok, but still unnecessary. They could have easily let him know not to wait and he wouldn't have had to call out of work for the remainder of the day. Second, they sent us home with someone else's pet without realizing it. (Seriously). Due to covid and the new "hands-free" drop off and pick up at veterinarian clinics, they put our cat, (or so we thought) in the back seat behind my husband. It was a similar crate, and our two other cats had made it safely in the back, so he didn't think to double-check that it was the correct animal. Truly - this should have NEVER happened. My husband dealt with the drop-off/pick-up, so when he came home and said, "the cats were oddly quiet on the ride home", I knew something was up. Sure enough, I opened the cages and none of our cats budged. Two of our cats were in one larger cage, backed up against the back of the carrier, wide-eyed, panting, and covered in pee. I looked in the other cage where my third cat was supposed to be; I saw someone else's poor baby huddled in the back like, "Where's my mom, and who the hell are you?" We immediately called the Vet Center and they had no clue they had given us the wrong animal. My baby could've easily gone to someone else! Third, they administered ear meds for one of our cats, and then mixed up our animals and had to re-visit notes (twice) with which cat and which ear had the infection. It took them 2 phone calls and two emails to give us the correct information. Even the doctor was confused about which cat he was referring to and had to put me on hold multiple times. No two people had the same information about any (3) of our cats. Fourth, (this is the big one - if it could get any worse) They did not disclose certain side effects of the medication they prescribed to our cat. Our little guy's ears have lost muscle and now droop at the tips. Our animal will most likely end up with deformity for life since it has been here for upwards of a month now. We called to speak about why this could be happening to our cat; Their staff reply: "Well that side effect doesn't happen very often which is why we didn't mention it." If we had known, we would've visited other avenues. Follow the law: Informed consent also applies to animals. We are their advocates! If you're looking for a good veterinarian, I would highly suggest going elsewhere. I have never experienced so much strife with an animal care facility.

All of the reviews reflect exactly the experience at East Sac Vet Center — they are exceptional at every stage of the way from the initial call down to how they love and care for your pup all the way through the end. I'm so grateful to the staff taking in my little puppy Tuxedo on short notice and helping the little guy bounce back to his monster-levels of energy ????! If you're new to pet ownership in specific, and looking for a life-long veterinary clinic, it won't take more than one visit to be convinced.

Very accommodating. Covid has kept us from meeting all the staff, but all I've spoken with have been wonderful. My cat is nicer to them than he is to me.

Dr Collins & Dr Rosen are very animal friendly. When cost is a consideration, they are understanding and help you get the most out of what you can afford. They are willing to talk to you over the phone about what’s going on and give suggestions, if you’rea client, without making you come in, every time. Staff is friendly and professional. I recommend their practice all the time.

The staff and doctors at East Sacramento Veterinary Center are the most responsive I have ever met in my lifetime of having pets, and even more important, they are the most caring. I am so fortunate that I found them, and I will never take a pet anywhere else. This is a fabulous clinic!

Fabulous staff and the doc... well he is compassionate and will go that extra mile to solve your pets issues. I LOVE the fact he takes samples and will look at them under a microscope! No guessing here.

I'm revising my initial review as I had to go back for an exam (I also had her tri yearly shots done that were due in September) in order to fill the prescription for one of my dogs heartworm medication. They were very expedient on this visit and they comped her exam fee, which they weren't obligated to do. I appreciate when a business acknowledges when their service, along with the client, might need some TLC. As a long time business owner and Manager I understand that there will always be challenges. I'll be moving forward with them and see how things go. For the most part I've liked this Vet. Since the Covid virus, I've had to wait in my car in the 100+ heat for over an hour for two heartworm tests that were pre-scheduled. This was their annual test so I had no problem with the test. When I initially called I asked if the exam was mandatory and they said no. Two and a half weeks later after I ordered the heartworm for 1 year (trying to get the most affordable price), I'm called back to say they cannot fill one of the two orders as one dog needs an exam. If they had told me that two and a half weeks ago when I inquired, I would have had the exam! If the staff, who do most, if not all of the clinical duties, are not trained to give out consistent and accurate information, this indicates other issues exist as well. Not feeling great about the competency of this practice.

Nice staff, efficient. I like that Dr. Collins uses a "least medication necessary " model. Parking is awful.

I'm so glad to have found this place. They provide quality care at an affordable price point and are super helpful. I couldn't imagine taking my furbabies anywhere else.

Doc and staff communicated well, which is hard in 2020. Surgery went smoothly and discharge instructions are clear and easy to understand. Feel like they took great care of our pup and sorted out the issue. Hopefully never need to go back, but would if something came up.

Dr. Collins is the best Vet I've ever had-- and I've had many. He's resolved some complicated issues our dog has had. His staff is also top- notch. They're all incredibly efficient, friendly and clearly care about animals.. and people!

I have never loved a place so much in my life. Dr. Collins has saved my babies life. I have a French Bulldog who is my entire world. She has suffered from skin infections her whole life and I have spent hundreds of dollars trying to get to the bottom of what’s caused it. I even went monthly, to the top animal dermatologist in Northern California, and still wasn’t getting the help or answers I needed for Blu. Upon meeting Dr. Collins and his friendly staff, I finally felt like I was in an environment that truly cared about the wellbeing of the animals, more than just how much money they’re collecting at the end of the visit. I was shocked after my first visit, when the following Saturday, I received a call and sure enough it was Dr. Collins ON HIS DAY OFF, just checking in to see how Blu was feeling. For the first time in almost 5 years, there was light at the end of the tunnel for my sweet Blu. It’s the first time my little girl has ever been excited and actually willingly jumps in the car each month when I say, “Do you want to go see your doctor?!?!” He has relieved so much heartache from me and so much physical pain from my little girl. I will never take my animals anywhere else....and you shouldn’t either. Thank you again Dr. Collins and everyone who works there. You all are angels sent from above ❤️

It's a hole in the wall place but very clean and the Vet was very attentive to our Persian. Gave great advice and prescribed the best meds for Big Fella's upper respiratory condition. He's our go to guy from now on.

Dr. Cameron Collins of East Sacramento Veterinary Center is the best vet in the Sacramento region! He’s UC Davis-trained, knows the latest in veterinary medicine and specialty, and the best part - he does house calls on Saturdays! He also offers in-home end of life services during those more difficult times in a pet’s life. Since moving to Sacramento, I struggled finding a vet like I had in the Bay Area who was organized, available, open to conversation, and not above answering emails. Dr. Collins is the only vet I've experienced in the Sacramento region to-date that checks all of these boxes. He is thoughtful, and his standard 40-minute appointments speak to the time he takes to understand each individual dog as well as its owners concerns. I am so grateful to have found him, and I look forward to working with him to keep my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels healthy. Thank you, Dr. Collins - we appreciate you!
