The veterinarian and staff are amazing! Two years ago they treated our beloved dog, Libbey. When we lost her to cancer they were extremely compassionate. Now they take care of our boy Baxter. The staff get down on the floor with him, talk to him, play with him, and he is so responsive to them. The office is clean and professional. We would recommend River Oak Veterinary Hospital to anyone who loves their fir-baby.

We like going to see Dr. Hellman much more than Bear does! He takes good care of our little guy. He is friendly and open, like a friend and friend to our dog.

We took our 13 year old cat here for the first time and the staff was wonderful! The appointment times were only 1 week out, instead of 3 everywhere else. Dr. Mike Hellman is so kind. He treated Pixar and us like we were the only patients there, giving us full attention. He has such a calming and profession manner even when we were worried. Love this Veterinarian!

Took my Labrador to a Pleasanton Vet because she was throwing up and they told me I need to spend $8000 on surgery. I went to River oak and the doctor was amazing he did an Emana and in 4 hours I picked her up my dog and she's 100% back to normal. We found ourselves a new veterinarian and it's worth an hour and 15 minute drive.10 stars!!!

I have been coming to this vet office for many years. They take great care of all my pets and they treat everyone like family. I always recommend them to anyone needing a great Vet office.

my vet for 20 years this month. don't know what i would do without any of them - from the techs to the front office staff to Dr. Hellman- absolutely FANTASTIC in every way possible. they are like family and all our animals over the years have receive nothing but the BEST for everybody.

Dr. Shaner takes excellent care of our dog's and his services are reasonably priced.

My husband and I were very cautious when it came to selecting someone to entrust with our fur babies. Dr. John Shaner and Dr. Mike Hellman are both equally wonderful, can't go wrong with either. They are very knowledgeable and trustworthy, and always willing to explain things so everyone can understand. You can honestly tell they care deeply about your pets, which gives you great comfort. Believe me, I'm very picky when it comes to my dogs and puppies. I also want to mention that the office staff are amazing and caring people. I highly recommend River Oak Veterinary Hospital they are an A+ in my book. Everything has always gone over and above anything I could have wanted. Thanks for everything you do!

The staff is great I have been going here since the 90's. The Doctors are amazing ????. I taken pets elsewhere and brought them back because other places didn't correct the issue. I had a abscess on my dog poor thing had to go through 2 surgical treatments cause the othe spot sucked. River Oak Vet is top notch. Now you stay in your car and they call you and let you know what the next steps will be.

There probably isn't enough space given for me to list all the wonderful attributes of River Oak Veterinarian Hospital! I've been entrusting the care of several pets, all who mean/meant the world to me and my husband, for about 28 years now ~ if you are the type of person who loves their pet "beyond measure", then I feel certain you'll be happy visiting 'River Oak Veterinarian'. Dr. Mike Hellman is the ONLY vet I want to have take care of my animals because he's built such a history not only with the pet, but, with me as well! Any of the others on Staff are perfectly great, too, I just prefer Dr. Hellman! Just recently, during an emotional period I was having, I told told him that he'd better not retire, half jokingly, because I couldn't bear it if he did! Assured me that he wasn't planning on it ~ whew???? ????????????

The staff here have saved 2 of my dogs lives, and gave THE BEST care to my babies. Professional, efficient and sooo beyond caring. Every person in this office loves animals and has been so helpful to my babies! I've been to 3 other vets in the 209 and River Oak is the only place I return to. Love this place!!

I know both Ruby and Tiger ALWAYS get the very best care no matter how big or small the attention they need at the time from both Drs. All of the rest of the staff always know both me and who my pets are whenever I call in and care for me in a very professional and courteous manner. I have nothing but praise for everyone there.

Dr. Hellman is so kind and compassionate. He is wonderful with your fur babies. He saved several of my animals with his ability to get a correct diagnosis. The staff are also excellent, Marina, Cherokee, Karen and all of the vet techs. I am so happy I found River Oak over 20 year ago.

You are always kind, courteous, helpful. My dogs love coming to see you. Always very accommodating. I honestly also can’t wait to see all of you, so welcoming. Even in the current time with things so busy, you are always doing your best to make sure that my dogs get the best care possible.

We love River-Oak Vet!! We won't go anywhere else! We moved to Dublin and STILL drive all the way out because we wouldn't trust our Buddy to anyone else. The staff is fabulous, Dr. Shaner and Dr. Hellman are amazing and the prices are very reasonable.

We have 7 animals...5 dogs and 2 cats between us. All have been cared for by River Oak. We have always been completely satisfied!
