My family had to make the difficult decision to put our beloved elderly cat down. The doctor and the staff were so supportive and kind. It truly made this very emotional and heartbreaking event a little more comforting

VCA animal hospital was wonderful the first time I went. The second time I attempted to go they cancelled my appointment without my knowledge or consent. Now I have to scramble to get time off to have my cat looked at and I am disappointed, to say the least.

I’m new to town and this is the closest clinic to me. However, their rude, petty and inconsiderate behavior towards my wife and I, drove us to a vet clinic across town. One thing that would help them grow their business and retain customers is to be kind towards strangers, or new customers.

Wonderful as always! This clinic always takes such good care or our fur babies!

I really love everyone here (even though our favorite vet is gone) so I don’t want to leave a super low review. I have to say the vca care club is a total ripoff and I do not recommend doing this membership. I am moving away and in order to cancel the membership I had to pay for the services I used this year. So I would have to keep paying for the membership even though I am moving to avoid that fee. How does that make sense? Make sure you fully understand the terms if you think this membership is worth it because it ends up being a big waste of money. Again, everyone who works at this particular office has always been kind and I appreciate them working to get me in on short notice but the overarching vca brand has greatly disappointed me and I will not go to another one when I move.

I’m hesitant to write a review because we all know animals die. I think I just expected a higher level of care and concern than what was provided. I’ve taken my cat here for several years now. He began showing symptoms and being sick, so I scheduled a sick pet visit. He was seen, prescribed medication, and given back. No testing was done, just an assumption of the problem. He was not allowing me to administer the meds, so a few days later I took him in so they could do an injection. Again, I expressed my concerns of his symptoms and that he wasn’t acting right. I was told this is normal. His symptoms kept getting worse but since we were “waiting for the meds to kick in” and “this is normal” I waited on taking him to the emergency vet. Another day later and I came home to him not moving, clearly had been sick multiple times, not eating/drinking. I called them and asked what I should do and since I had a visit scheduled for a few days later, they said just wait until then or call another hospital. He kept getting worse so that night I took him to the emergency vet where ultimately (after testing and X-rays were done) I had to make the decision to put him down. I guess I expected that they would run tests or do X-rays- some kind of diagnostics. Especially after three times of expressing his symptoms, scheduling a sick pet visit, etc. At least I could’ve prepared myself that my previously healthy, happy 9 y/o cat was about to die. The staff is kind here. Just be aware of the level of care you can receive versus what you may be expecting.

I admittedly posted a very critical one-star review a few weeks ago. I wanted to edit my review because the response I received 1st from corporate and then from the manager Elizabeth was extraordinary. They were professional, incredibly attentive to my concerns and were very proactive in making sure everything was resolved. I am very excited that everything was cleared up and now my 3 dogs can continue to get their care here with the incredible technicians and doctors that they have on staff...

I cannot say enough great things about this veterinary office. Every veterinarian in this office cared for 2 of my cats for the past few years and I have been nothing short of impressed. The care and concern for each pet is made obvious by every staff member. The veterinarians are kind, considerate and loving. They were kind enough to correspond through text messages after hours. They all cried with us when we lost the cats just 4 months apart. This office treated us like family and I appreciate the excellent care that my cats received.

Dr Ginger Kelly, and Elizabeth took care of my baby. After a rough experience earlier in the day with a different vet I was not the most pleasant person to deal with at first. I appreciate Elizabeth's professionalism, understanding and care. Dr. Kelly was knowledgeable and answered all questions thoroughly. I cannot say enough about how great my experience at this vet was. Fully recommend.

Dr. Plateman is great! I started bringing my ferrets here after my last vet retired and the office no longer saw ferrets. Every time we have visited the staff has been polite and professional. When I got married earlier this year I boarded my ferrets here for about 5 days, I was nervous at first because I only ever had family take care of them. They sent me pictures and updates of my little guys which allowed me to enjoy my time away from them without worrying. The prices are reasonable and the care is exceptional.

I've been using this vet for years now and have generally been pleased with their services, we had even paid for their 'Care Club' for a few years. Apparently their is no sense of dual loyalty. Today my senior dog began having blood in his stool last night and they said the earliest they could see him was 14 days out, how is that helpful at all? No Walk Ins for Emergencies?! This office is seemingly very willing to take your money when convenient to them. They said to bring to the animal hospital, which we did last night but had to leave after over four hours of waiting and no service. Very very disappointed.

We had a lovely first time experience here. The office is so clean and the staff is very welcoming. Dr. Brown was absolutely amazing and made not only us but our puppy feel so comfortable. We loved our visit and we will definitely be back.

Buddy saw Dr. Brown today. We were very impressed with Dr. Brown wanting to get to the bottom of Buddy's skin problems. Everyone was very nice and knowledgeable.

I called the vet right when they opened on Saturday and the woman on the phone was very polite and lovely and was able to get me in that same morning. The vet and tech were both very helpful in describing what they were doing to my dog as well as how I could care for her in the future. I live pretty far from this place but I will continue to come back for the great service.

Everyone at this office went out of their way to be nice to us after we had just had a terrible experience with a different vet office. They answered every one of our questions regardless of if it even made sense. Highly, highly, highly recommend bringing your pet to here.

A wonderful experience from the time we entered the door to the end of our furry baby's visit. The nurse and doctor were very knowledgeable and kind. Clean and welcoming environment, I loved that in the exam room on a petite dry-erase board was written "welcome Berkeley" The biggest suprise was the medium size doggy tote loaded with free animal info, two in one doggy flashlight and waste bags dispenser and a 2 pounder dry Hills food that was given free as a new client! Couldn't be happier! We scheduled a check-up in two weeks at the doctors suggestion and will continue to trust VCA Lakeside Animal Hospital to be our go-to Vet!

I brought my dog here to be checked for UTI. My regular vet was out of town. They found she had bladder stones along with the UTI. I was told she needed surgery right away (starting at over $2000) No other alternative to surgery was ever mentioned. I then took her to my regular vet who put her on RX dog food to clear the stones. It took @4 months but she is completely stone free with no surgery. It cost @$300 instead of $2000+ I will say that the staff and facility were very nice.
