Went in today with my friend's pet who desperately needed pyometra spay surgery. For those who aren't aware, pyometra is an emergency and can be fatal. We waited for nearly an hour before being told they would not accept our care card, after nearly tripling the cost (admittedly, we were not aware pyometra would add cost and care, our mistake), and when the manager came out, she was incredibly rude, saying (paraphrase) "if your friend (a vet who owned the care card) can't be here to pay, can't she do the surgery?" This friend was working, at her clinic, in Truckee. Who says something like that? She also very obviously was treating us based on how we looked. My friend and I are young. My friend's dog needed EMERGENCY SURGERY and she was treating us like trash. I had been going there my whole life with my pets, as had my parents, but no longer. Never again. Absolutely ridiculous. They also haven't listened every time I called to tell them my dog has passed away, and they keep sending me emails as a reminder to get her vaccinations updated. The rest of the staff are wonderful. My father and I had never had a bad appointment before this, but this time? How dare you, manager. You should not be one.

If you value your time go somewhere else. I started using them 1.5 years ago and have always had to wait at least 15 - 45 minutes before they get around to helping me, regardless if I'm 15 minutes earlier or on time. Today they decided to make me wait 20 mins before they called me and told me they didn't have enough people to handle me even though I had to make the appointment 6 weeks ago. Prime example of absolutely terrible customer service.

After a treacherous experience with domante ranch pinion got our puppy taken care of with great customer service experience and provided excellent professionalism. Not only does domante ranch gouge you with prices pinion got us taken care of for a fraction of the price and way better service. I highly recommend pinion because they worked in an appointment into their busy schedule and really bent over backwards to help us. Definitely choose this clinic they will treat your animal and the owners with the highest regard!

They and other veterinarians are the reason why I will not adopt another pet again. They had me spending money on unnecessary procedures and not addressing the problem with testing that my cat needed. As a result she died. I do not recommend this hospital for your pet, hated I brought my beloved cat here.

We had an appointment at one thirty, called ahead because we were running 5 minutes late and the receptionist has the nerve to say “5 minutes is 5 minutes we have to cancel”. We had to stop and pick up our pet because we took an early day to go to this appointment and the fact that they don’t even consider traffic, or stopping to pick up the pet is ridiculous. Replace the receptionist if you guys actually want business.

Brought my rabbit in due to a baby in a pouch outside of the body. I asked for a removal of the baby because the rabbit can not get around to eat and drink. They came out to my car and told me it was a "tumor" that didn't need removed and they couldn't give me an appointment for removal. The brought out paperwork for costs that had nothing to do with the "tumor." The costs were over 900 dollars for things I didn't even bring my rabbit in for. I was involved in the massive fire and had to move my rabbits in a quick matter which caused minor sores on the feet. Because the rabbit had sores on the feet this vet called animal control on me. They showed up to my house this morning and took pictures of my rabbitry. Again I received no treatment for my rabbit and paid out a lot of money. Sat in my car for 3 hours, was not allowed to leave to use the restroom or they were going to charge me "another visit" amount. I understand covid and that we can't use their facilities but not allowing us to leave to use the restroom at the gas station without being charged a secondary fee is inexcusable. I would not recommend this place to bring your fur babies to. They treat both the owners and pets with disrespect. UPDATE: The medication that was given by this provider burned my rabbits feet and caused bleeding. Instead of coming out to the car or calling my phone and asking questions about the situation about the feet of my rabbit they took it upon themselves to call animal control on my farm. Animal control cleared my farm saying it is in great condition. The rabbit is going in for emergency surgery tomorrow as it is hindering his health.

I took my precious Lucy for allergies. They prescribed medication for her. I gave her one dose and two days later she died. I do not recommend at all.

Dishonest! Overcharged me for service than claimed that I gave them a verbal OK for the additional charges! All they did was call me to ask if it was ok to pick up my dog at 530 instead of 430! They did not mention that they were charging me an additional $500 for extra surgery time!!! The extra charges was because the D . took longer to extract one tooth than the original surgery estimate they provided where they were extracting 3 teeth! So only one tooth instead of three and it took longer so cost an ADDITIONAL $500. The manager thinks it's fair because it didn't exceed the high end of their original estimate...which was based on Extracting three teeth "Karen" $1200 for ONE tooth extraction. That was what you quoted me when you thought you were pulling out 3! Maybe you ran out of time and will just charge me another $1200 to pull the other one next year??? What a scam!!!

This place is a giant joke. I made an apt for 4:30 pm when i showed up the receptionist said they had no appointment for me but could get me in with a pretty bitter attitude behind the statement. I waited in my car for 50 minutes to have a little messenger boy come tell me they are not able to see my animal. The receptionist couldn't even tell me herself cause she knew she screwed up. Do yourself a favor and avoid this group of clowns. Seems to me the old timer vet at this place has lost all motivation to run a successful business. The whole staff here isn't worth a damn.

This group of winners is awesome. Our great dane Priscilla had epilepsy and dr Jackson did everything she could to keep her a healthy as possible. All the way up to end of life care. Dr Davenport took care of my Tori kitty when she declined rapidly in health. A tear in his eye when he inserted the needle and made her a healthy kitten again. Dr Tiffany seen Priscilla when dr j wasn't available to discuss quality of life and a medication to help with her anxiety. Dr J was instrumental when it came to saving Marvin's foot. He lived to be 19 yrs of age. He died in my arms at home back in April. The staff is incredibly trained, funny, sympathetic, and very welcoming. Mariah, Sharon, and everyone are treasures to have met and have work on all my fur babies. Thank you EVERYONE Denise, Sean Liscom

These folks have been taking care of our fur kids for as long as I can remember! From Priscilla the great dane with epilepsy to Marvin the cat who nearly lost a foot to someone's snare trap. They have taken care of all our other animals too! Their care and compassion is unmatched and I'll never go anywhere else unless it's an emergency and they aren't open. Great people. Great staff. During  Zoey's recent major surgery we knew the cost upfront, and it was not a problem because we planned for it. Then I received one of the most reprehensible calls I have ever heard. Not only did this person "laugh" at me when I questioned the additional $1,500 dollars that was to be charged for another of Zoeys tooth extractions,  she couldnt explain why the cost was so high, she quoted $1800 to $2100. The unprofessionalism that was portrayed during the conversation was inexcusable. We have been coming to Pinion for over twenty-one years, and we have never experienced such disrespect and disregard for expense and our animals. The malice unjust towards us and Zoey is despicable. So, for your " polite, effective, comfortable, and open avenue of communication" ideal, it needs to be brought back to Pinion before you cast the first stone. Dr. Davenport had cared for all of our animals and showed nothing less than love and compassion. He knelt on the floor with us as we put down 3 dogs, talking us through very hard times. He is what and why we stayed at Pinion. What you have now, is not what we knew 20 years ago...so shame on you! Why don't you ask what the conversation was first.

I can't say enough good things about Pinion. From the first phone call to them walking me out the door. We had to put our fancy rat Woodchip to sleep due to a tumor. They showed so much support & care. We even got a sympathy card. This was my first time at a Vet hospital & first time putting a pet to sleep. Thank you all .

Very pleased with the quality of service and the price. The staff at Pinon took great care of my cat during his neuter and my bill reflected the quote I was given. One of the best vets in the Reno area, I'm looking forward to being a more established patient here!

I would like to start by saying thank you to everyone there. My puppy had parvo and unfortunately didn't make it through no fault of theirs. They did everything they could with my budget. I would highly recommend them to everyone with a pet. They have an extremely knowledgeable staff who listens .

I don’t know why they don’t have five stars, this place is awesome. The vet actually take the time ask questions and listen. The staff is wonderful. They are always able to get me in and we schedule me with my crazy schedule. I highly recommend them and my dog is my favorite thing in the whole entire world. Potato loves these guys too. Who can say they have a dog that gets excited to go to the vet? I rest my case

We take our 13 year old cat to Pinion and he has been seen by Dr. Tiffany Thomas his last few visits. She is caring, calm and spends time answering our questions. We are very happy that we found this clinic.

The place is clean and friendly. Good for general things, for healthy dog or simple emergencies, but for diagnosis don't waste time and money here (after $700 of tests no treatment). Any test requires an external consultation. Ended up going to SPECIALIST.

Extremely disappointed. Made appt. saying specifically 'to get Remadyol' for my dog. Repeated this info to reception on arrival, and assistant, again to the vet. On checkout, handed me some other brand, caulky white.. Hide in peanut butter. No Thank You. Left empty handed with useless paper for prescription only fillable at Costco. Never been. Chances of going anytime in near future, slim to none. The vet does not work with online pharmacy. Hundred dollars later, Complete waste. Empty handed. My poor dog just needs his pain chewy.

Unfortunately we no longer use Pinion because we moved to Texas, but the time we were in Reno and used them they were amazing. Such an amazing staff, I wish we could have taken them with us. Thank you for everything!

Really love the staff at Pinion. The whole staff has been very thoughtful and respectful during a hard visit I had with my dog. It was my first time there and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for going above and beyond for my pet.

The staff are a bunch of inexperienced kids. This is the only vet in town that won’t fax your priscription to an outside pharmacy. They try to make it hard for you if you don’t buy your meds from them. Will not be coming back to this place even thou I live a quarter mile down road from them, if that tells you anything. Will definitely steer friends and families away from this place.

New receptionist is very rude every time we call for an appointment. I have even tried scheduling online to avoid calling, but have had no success. Taking our pets elsewhere, which is unfortunate because we really enjoyed the care provided here.

We took our bearded dragon in because he had swollen arms. Dr. Jackson was kind, communicated in a straightforward manner and gave us good advice. The office staff is professional and friendly and the facility is very clean. I highly recommend this vet, especially for reptile needs.
