Mount Rose Animal Hospital Reno, California

I bought a new puppy and had to get him to a vet within three days to activate his 1 year health warranty. For those booking vet appointments right now, you would know it's pretty difficult to find a place that can get you in that fast. Mt Rose got us in in a jiffy! Their front desk lady was lovely, the vet assistance was helpful, and our doctor was knowledgeable. We also take our ferrets here to get check ups when they need it, and have had nothing but positive experiences. They are reasonably priced, and they won't charge you for anything you don't need. They have not only the animals best interest at heart, but the animals owners. Thanks for taking care of our pets Mt. Rose!

My dog was sick and we didn’t know why. All we got from this place was a bunch of medication she didn’t need. We took her somewhere else it turns out she had cancer, she’s no longer with us anymore ???? Mt rose had no idea what was wrong with her even tho we took her a couple times a month and the other animal hospital said all her symptoms were all OBVIOUS signs of cancer

Dr Alex Veach is the absolute best. I recommend her for all your vet needs. She’s wonderful with small breeds and large breeds. I’ve been following her for the last 6 years. I won’t see anyone else.

I have three awesome ferrets that are my babies, and they have always been kind and gentle and you can tell when someone actually cares and isn't just going through the motions of a day to day job. That's really nice.

Nothing but good things to say! The staff has always been super helpful and patient with both of our dogs! They’ve made it easy to get us in for appointments, and I LOVE the fact that the vet comes out to talk to me about any updates/concerns they have and their recommendations. They definitely spend the time with you and answer all your questions. Aside from prices being higher than our vets in old towns we’ve it’s worth the money as the quality of care is 110%!

We brought a set of 4 newborn Yorkie into the office as soon as we found problems. Mom was septic all good. 1730$ later she was saved. So far. The puppies 4 total were also with her. They were supposed to be fed and taken care of. The biggest and only girl was 106 grams before admitted the same day we got her back was only 67 grams. We lost 1 of the twins thats same day and the big girl the next day. We brought our puppies back for intensive care for the day. Cist 400$ more and we paid both the bills . Then she passed and now we are at home taking care of the last 2 from the litter with tears. Both of the remaining puppies are going to die soon. We have done everything we can but I believe the vet did next to nothing to be sure they have a chance. We weighed them twice a day to be sure of proper growth. And after they came home from the vet clinic they were worse off than when they went in. I used to adore and live this very for small animal help. Now I'm 2100$ in debt and have NO animals left because of them. I only wanted a straight up answer for what was happening. Not a run around Stealing my money. My pets lives are worth more than anything. The hurt they have caused my family far outweighs what i have spent. We have cried several nights as we have lost one after another. Our runt is going to heaven tonight and the last one isn't far behind. I haven't cries so much in forever. Possibly with a different vet clinic this may have been better but we will never know now.

I called this office to schedule to put our family animal down after 16 great years. The lady laugh at me because I ask for appointment on Saturday. She laugh at me because I forgot they were closed for the 4th of July. Sorry rude lady, the 4th of July was the last thing I was worried about. I would never use this vet ever again.

I have been very pleased! Dr. Weldon and Dr. Carroll have both taken care of my Black Lab. When my dog developed Cushing's disease, Dr. Carroll took the time to thoroughly explain the course of treatment. My dog is doing awesome! Also, the staff is very friendly and caring. If you live in the Reno area, I highly recommend bringing your pets here!

I have been taking my puppy abd kitty babies to Mount Rose for many years! The staff is caring and wonderful! I can't imagine taking my babies anywhere else!

Dr. Burnham is wonderful, caring and simply amazing. We had to let go of a 20 year old member of the family and they were amazing at comforting both the dog and us. At difficult and good times they are there for us and can be there for you. We trust them. This is the bottom line. Trust is everything and Dr. Burnham delivers.

We switched to Mt Rose Animal Hospital after deciding to leave an animal hospital that had lost its way (we were there for many years). We are so pleased with the care, competency, compassion and service from staff and doctors - it is exceptional. This past week Murphy, while jousting for a ball with Willie, got a gash on his upper jowl. We called Mt Rose to see if he needed stitches. The receptionist was immediately positive and helpful (instead of coming up with ten reasons why we could not be helped over the phone). Dr. Leautier, in the middle of a busy surgery schedule, got on the phone and patiently helped us assess Murphy's wound and choose a course of action. We avoided stitches and settled on a round of antibiotics. In similar situations over the years we would have been rebuffed by our vet's staff and simply told to go to the emergency vet - and get out the credit card for a large bill. We feel appreciated and respected at Mt Rose, and our pets get top level care.
