We adopted our 4 month old little boy from this shelter. He’s such a sweetheart and fits into our family perfectly. He loves to cuddle and play. The staff at this shelter were very professional and were very grateful for finding our pup.

Covid cases are so low now and people are getting on with life. Yet, Redlands Animal Shelter is still using Covid excuses to make adoption of their animals way too difficult. Their animals are outside in cages and you used to be able to walk around from cage to cage and see if you liked an animal. But now you have to go online and choose ONE animal to view only and make an appointment to see the one. What if I don't like that one after all, then what? I've been there many times over the past 35 years to adopt dogs and I've never had to beat off crowds of people viewing their animals. Come on guys, enough already, open your site so more animals can find a forever home.

Just got off the phone with a very rude lady, answered with a unprofessional ugly attitude and hung up in the middle of me talking. . Thanks for the help.

Super friendly staff. Very mindful of Covid precautions. They require you bring your dog to meet prospective adoptions. That is nice. We had a dog we wanted to adopt but she wanted nothing to do with our current pet. That would have been a mistake. Our second choice is getting along well with our current doggie. Dogs are outside, no air-conditioning but there are misters to cut the heat.

The staff who works here are really awesome and helpful. I adopted my sweet girl Lady here and my family loves her so much! I would highly recommend adopting a pet from Redlands animal shelter. They are the best!

I have visited twice while there have been restrictions which made the adoption process a little more difficult than the times when you could just show up and see all of the animals (but these are crazy times). There isn't much information that they have regarding the animals (socialization, training, etc.), but the staff seem to really care about the animals. The site they use to showcase the animals has limited and even inaccurate information. However, I am happy to report that our family has adopted our newest edition to the family thanks to Redlands animal shelter.

I was looking for a large breed dog under 3, To be a playmate and best friend for our current Rottweiler. I typically would not adopt a rescue Rottweiler, Pitbull, Cane Corso or other without extensive history, be cause you never know what the animal has been through. Well Redlands had a Rottweiler under 3 that was skinny and very skiddish. On bringing our dog down with my son we spent time with this dog. He was a stray, that looked like he had been on his own for awhile, so really hard to get any read on him, he did not engage us, but did open up with our dog and played. I was very much on the fence, and the girl at shelter probably sensed it as well. I need to see or feel connection with a dog to take a risk of bringing a large animal into a home. The AOC's name is Lissette, she showed genuine concern for the dog to make sure we were the right fit for him, and he to us. She engaged the dog and I saw that he was connected to her, she brought out his goofy side and showed us that he could be vulnerable, if not for her spending time with him while he was there, this dog would have ended up in a junk yard or worse. We have had him home for 4 days and he is an amazing dog, full of love and very playful. I have adopted a few dogs over the years, but this is by far the best experience to date. I would highly recommend this shelter over many I had visited, because the staff cares and invest time in the animals and the people.

I learned first hand this past Wednesday that, in addition to an appointment, they require you to complete an adoption application BEFORE you even meet the animal you're interested in. I have NEVER been asked to do that before meeting the dog or cat and have adopted numerous animals from local shelters & rescues over the years. I was not willing to complete the application before even meeting the dog and was REFUSED access for my scheduled appointment. I spoke with severl levels and management, up to the Deputy Chief of Police Reiss, and they dug their heels in stating, "That's our policy." It may seem like an insignificant issue, but this adds to a long list of problems with Redlands Animal Shelter over the last two years. I am in touch with the Mayor to see what can be done to improve things.

Sylvia and her girl are amazing! We found TWO rattle snakes at back yard and they came immediately after call. It's hard to catch one of them because it hid under the AC compressor but Sylvia made it. It's not my first time ask Redlands Animal Shelter for help and every time was a good experience. Thumb up!

Took a dog there that was hit by a car and severely emaciated. They waited over a week to take him to the vet (assuming he actually went because see on another follow up call the employee didn't know if he had and said he had no way to find out) , even though the vet care was going to be paid for by an advocacy group. When I called to check on him they were very rude and said "he seems fine" when I asked why he hadn't been to the vet yet.

Super unprofessional. I had found a cat and asked for it to be picked up. My sister called and the dude who answered was sleazy and kept hitting on her. Gross. Then when they came to get the animal they were very rude and made snappy comments. Would not recommended.

Last year we adopted "Mia" (now Jetta), a 10 month old blue nose pit bull who had been surrendered by her owners after producing her first litter of puppies. Redlands Animal Shelter staff are some of the kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They genuinely care about the health and future of their animals. I'm happy to report that Jetta has settled into a lush suburban life with kids and other dogs to play with. I'd like to thank Redlands Animal Shelter for their hard work and dedication to their animals. ❤️

We were going to get a bulldog and then my dad mentioned having another dog. The lady said bring him here and of course we did. My dog was excited and she thought he was going to attack. So she wouldn’t allow us to adopt. But I’ve adopted animals from that shelter and I’ve never had bad experiences since that time

About two years ago I was looking for a cat. I saw one that ended up being here. I didn't want a kitten because I work during the day. The cat I chose was called Grumpy Cat. He turned out to be anything but. He's my cuddle bug now, but it's taken this long.

I went to the door to pick up a dog for a friend whom was possibly exposed to Covid 19. A sign was posted to call due to Covid 19. I waited 10 min before she cracked the door open. While I waited more people gathered. I spoke with Karissa Pena. Not a nice ???? ???? person. Was rude to myself and others at the door. She indicated to the customers that we don't read. A man asked if he could adopt a dog she said NO!!. She said to read the sign. As I express myself. She continued to talk over me. I asked to speak and she said NO. I told her that she was rude and disrespectful and asked to speak to a superior. She rolled her eyes and chuckled. She won't be in toll Tuesday. I hope with the greatest intent that Karissa is reprimanded. She had no care to let me talk .I just hope the dogs are treated differently. My heart ❤ goes out to these animals. People should treated with human dignity and always with ❤.

I adopted a sweet black kitten from Redlands Animal Shelter in 2018. They were kind and informative. They gave me a discount due to my age, but I gifted that discount back to them. My girl is beautiful and full grown now. She loves to be petted and crazy at play. She doesn't talk at all, though. I don't know if this is her preference or if she might be a mute. I will see if her vet has a way to tell at her next checkup. I'm so glad that I adopted her.

My kids and I didn’t have a bad experience. We called to ask what time they close before driving out. We arrived an 1:45 minutes before closing, my kids wanted to adopt a kitten. After spending an hour looking for the perfect kitten to take home, we where giving the kitten information to check out. Once checking into the office we were told they were not doing anymore paperwork and that we had to comeback the next day, it was only 4:20 and they closed at 5. My kids were hurt and sad because they got to pick and bond with a kitten they didn’t get to take home that day. The staff was very rude and had attitudes. Will never go back, thought working at a shelter means finding a good home for them so they have to be put down or live in cages. I guess that’s not the case at this location. Heartbreaking
