My dog was run over last Friday late in the afternoon. We are established as patients there now for about 10 years. They've trated 6 of my pets before. They wouldn't see my dog because my bank was closed and I couldn't get the money until Monday. I am disgusted and looking for a new vet

The wait for this clinic is out of control, even for an emergency clinic. We were there for 5 hours. Once we finally got to the Dr, they asked us to leave our pet and wait for a phone call. Are you kidding me? Never have I ever not been present during the examination! Two hours later. The consultation was over the phone, impersonal, and he completely misquoted me in his report. Which leads me to believe he misunderstood me as well. The Dr didn't look for the cause of the problem and only treated the symptoms. That is not proper procedure. I felt like they just wanted to get me out of there. When I returned for my pet, they made me pay online and did not give me any paperwork about the exam or an invoice. I was very disappointed. I would not recommend VCA Asher Veterinary Clinic. UPDATE: I took my pet to his primary Veterinarian for a follow-up and the VCA Veterinarian's lack of knowledge and ability to diagnose the problem resulted in the loss of my pet's toe!!!! ???????? Yes, that's right, if VCA had done their job it would have been a small scar between his toes. But instead VCA's misdiagnosis caused my pet the amputation of his entire toe. Had I listened to the VCA Veterinarian's advice and not taken him to his primary vet ASAP, it might have been his leg. Do not bring your loved ones to VCA Asher!

RUDE customer service. Did not care about pets who were in critical condition coming in. The lady at the front desk extremely unprofessional and talks to customers with disrespect. The “system” they have is terrible.

I hate the fact you can have a 4 hr wait in your car just to drop off your pet. Mine was 2 hrs this last time. Everytime you call, it's at least 30 minutes before they pick up. Lady on the phone said she needed my son's permission to bring his dog in for her ear infection. Something about a privacy policy. But they had no problem letting me pay for it. I will not go back to that Vet unless it's for the emergency after hrs. ????

I was told my Pug Sophie had a slipped disk and her rear leg mobility would end with her being a paraplegic, which it did. I Added vitamin D, fish oil, glucosamine and chondroitin to her food daily for the past 9 weeks. After almost 2 years of dragging herself around with her front legs, she is now walking on ALL 4 legs and doing great. Bad diagnosis…

I got updates via texts. Surprised about that! They needed to keep us isolated due to possibly spreading the virus. We chose hospitalization because she is such a small breed and fairly young. We simply couldn't loose our daughters puppy we did all that was suggested by the nurse and doctors. On the mend and vaccinated she is home.

They will rob you if you give them a chance charge my daughter $2400 to save her dog they gave her hope that she would survive. They wouldn’t touch her until they received payment. 10 minutes after she paid they told her that her dog died. And then requested a fee to have her returned to her. Horrible place

I have used Asher for a few of my pet emergencies now. The staff is caring and Dr Caraway is awesome, even when delivering difficult news. Pet emergencies can be costly, but it is reassuring to know there is 24hr care available, even on holidays and weekends.

With covid restrictions you check in then wait in your car for them to call you to come in to be seen. They were fantastic and caring.

The staff was really nice and seemed to care about my dog. My dog is an older girl and her nail ripped off and kept bleeding. I took her in, they took good care of her. The only thing I didn't like was I didn't get to meet the doctor and had to leave her there. They are following strict covid guidelines. However my girl got taken care of and was happy when I picked her up.

This place is in my opinion the best vet in northern California. I recently had to go in with my service animal and was treated with respect. He had to undergo lifesaving surgery. His recovery has been smooth and quick. Thank you VCA asher animal hospital for saving the life of my service animal

So amazing. Took my cat in to get neutered and it was very inexpensive (even with pain meds) and they also gave me a discount. Staff was very nice and they took very good care of my cat.

It was not the best. I was worried about my freshly spayed puppy and kitten. No one called to tell me they were ok and the next day was a crazy wait in the parking lot with a lot of other upset people. My dog was in terrible pain the whole way home . It was over an hour home. She peed all over with a very full bladder at the vets office and was not taken out to go potty. Her bladder was very full. I gave her pain meds when I got her home. In an hour she started to feel better. My husband and I know she had none that morning. So sad. I felt like just a number. No one ever called the house to check on them over the week at all. So cold and Un caring!!!!

You guys charge an arm and a leg for poor service what happened to the good veterinarians and staff? Very sad to see how far this place has gone for the worst.

My cat had an emergency and none of our local vets could take him. We live an hour north of Redding. They suggested VCA Asher or an emergency hospital in Central Point, OR. We called VCA Asher and were told we could bring the cat down but that the wait times would be long. The wait times were indeed long, but we understood because the clinic is short staffed. Those employees that continue to work are under a lot of pressure. We dropped our cat off and were called about 2 hours later (as we had been warned for the call back time). Luckily, the vet was able to resolve our cat's emergency. She was very professional and friendly as was the veterinary tech who checked us in. Although this is my only experience with this clinic, I found it very professional, and the charges were reasonable. I hope future customers/patients will recognize the pressure these professionals are under. Accept that the wait times will be long - know that before you go. There is nothing anyone can do about that until the covid/economic situation improves.

During the wildfire evacuation in Weaverville, I took my mom my boyfriend and my animals down to redding The dogs did fine at the motel that we stayed in.. but my cat's on the other hand well they didn't do so well. So I took them to Asher animal hospital to be taking care of until the evacuation was over. To my surprise they wanted no money no food just a phone number to get a hold of me in case of an emergency. With all of the problems and the stress that was upon us that August, this was a very kind and comforting thing knowing that my animals we're taking care of and I didn't have to worry about them. And because of that when it came time to have my two male spayed Asher animal clinic was the place to take them. And in the future that's what I will take my animals. Thanks guys you don't even know how much stress that you folks save me. Thank you again!

They were very kind to take in a cat that was a patient of theirs after she had a second stroke. It was right when they were closing. They allowed the 82 year old lady that owned the cat and her daughter to take their time while they put the cat to sleep. And they had cremation services available also. They understood the animal was in too much pain to continue on and wait another day to be seen at the vet later.

My dog's ear and surrounding area swelled up to the size of a baseball and I rushed her in to their hospital at 7:45am. Their diagnosis was that it was cancer with a really bad infection and that they couldn't poke it to see if it would drain because it was "angry" and that might irritate it. So my dog suffered all week from the pain and I cried and cried because they said she would probably have to be euthanized. My family and friends said their good byes over the weekend and I took her in to her vet at Dana Park to be put to sleep the following Monday. Turns out it was a spider bite. Had they drained it the week before, we would have realized that and saved my dog from a week of pain and me from a week of crying. I'm just glad I had Dana Park to return to.

Affordable, sweet & kind was my experience her. I can feel that they care here, rather than get them in and out like a jiffy lube. Thank you again

I would give them zero stars if there wasxan option. I paid for blood work with a 24 hour return. They called me 6 days later after I had blown up their phone. Cat died of a potentially treatable problem due to their negligence.
