This hospital saved my Papillon Chihuahua from certain death after she was preyed on by a large owl. I was terrified of losing my baby and the amazing staff at Baseline Animal Hospital did everything they could to keep her alive. Three years later my little Daisy is happy, healthy, and cute as ever! We also visit every month to maintain a treatment plan for chronic allergy and skin issues. I spent years trying to find a vet who could effectively treat her and I will never go anywhere else because of the success we’ve had with this team. The staff genuinely cares about you and your pet and I trust that they handle my little one with love and care. We love Baseline Animal Hospital and are so grateful to have found them.

We have been going to this Vet for 30 years and today could not get our Shepard in for emergency care. Was told no openings at all, can’t take her literally begged please get her in... still said NO ! They finally called us and said we can get her in tomorrow at 4 pm, 24 hrs later she would have passed by then.. not a happy camper !! I was truly shocked. Got into another vet and come to find out she definitely needed emergency services and if not treated she would have passed away. Needless to say I’ll be looking for a new Vet !! I guess 30 years means absolutely NOTHING!! Debbie Bristol Bela Bristol Well here’s an update :::: Our precious Bela was just covered in Cancer our hearts were torn out on Saturday at 4:45 as we had to put our Fur Baby to sleep, hardest part of being a animal parent. Although I would rather have had our own (not anymore) Vet take care of this as we’ve been with them forever, they had no time for us !!!!! I’m still so very upset with this Animal Hospital Crazy thing is she had work done 2-4 months ago and not 1 word of Cancer !! PLEASE CHOOSE YOUR VET WISLEY !!!! My dogs will NEVER SEE THIS VET AGAIN !!!!!! I Hate You !! Debbie Bristol RIP Bela

Edited Post...... I GIVE THIS PLACE A NEGATIVE ZERO TO THE BILLIONITH POWER!! IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS RUN I EMPHIZE RUN FROM THIS PLACE!! EVERYBODY I MEAN EVERYBODY EMPLOYED HERE DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHATS GOING ON. IN MY EARLIER POST I SAID THEY CARED FOR MY DISABLED DOG UNTIL HER ULTIMATE DEATH AND AT THAT TIME THE STAFF AND DOCTORS WERE KIND, CURTIOUS, AND ABOVE ALL PROFESSIONAL. WELL, HELLO UPDATE!!!!! I KNOW OF ONE BELOVED EMPLOYEE WHO RETIRED AND OBVIOUSLY I MEAN OBVIOUSLY SHE WAS THE GLUE THAT HELD THIS PLACE TOGETHER!!! SO SORRY TO SEE HER GO BUT SHE DESERVED HER WELL EARNED RETIREMENT. NO ONE I EMPHIZE NO ONE INCLUDING THE OFFICE MANAGER HAS A CLUE TO WHATS GOING ON. EMPLOYEES ARE RUDE AND OBVIOUSLY THERE FOR AN EASY PAYCHECK WITH NO CONCIOUS ABOUT THE CARE THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE GIVING OUR BELOVED "PET" FAMILY MEMBERS. LASTLY...... SHAME SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!! My Service Dog was injured accidently at the Groomers. After the groomer and myself calling 30 different places each BASELINE was able to take him the next day. If he didn't need stitches I WOULD HAVE GONE ELSE WHERE!! They said the charges would be around $1400.00 and we elected to have a few other necessary concerns addressed as well as he was already going to be under anesthesia. Well, when asked to pay the deposit ( I paid CASH) THEY COULDNT GIVE ME A RECIEPT FOR THE CASH I GAVE THEM!! I figured I would address it when I picked up my dog. BOY WAS I WRONG!! NO ONE WOULD WRITE ME A RECIEPT FOR THE CASH DEPOSIT!! THEY DIDNT KNOW HOW!! I Explained that I needed TWO SEPERATE INVOICES, ONE TO PROVIDE TO THE GROOMER, AND ONE FOR THE OTHER SERVICES I REQUESTED. I TOLD THEM (THE STAFF) AND THE DOCTOR WHEN I MET WITH HIM AND HE SAID IT WOULDNT BE A PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD I NEVER REQUESTED THE TWO SEPERATE INVOICES!! BACIILLY I LIED!! THE DOCTOR WAS INVOLVED IN THIS MESS AND HE DIDNT KNOW HOW TO PROVIDE A RECIEPT FOR A CASH DEPOSIT OR TWO SEPERATE INVOICES FOR SERVICES INCURRED. (GROOMER WAS GOING TO RE-IMBURST ME FOR THE INJURY) THE Doctor said he had NEVER had an insurance company require a reciept. That the Invoice should be fine. WELL, THE GROOMERS INSURANCE COMPANY REQUIRES RECIEPTS FOR MONEY EXCHANGED. I PUT THE MONEY UP FRONT AND AM TRYING TO BE RE-IMBURST. AS STATED IN THE ABOVE REVIEW NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEIR DOING!! NO HELP, NO UNDERSTANDING WHAT A STRESSFUL TIME THIS WAS.... I HOPE I FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GO TO HAVE THE STITCHES REMOVED!! DONT GO HERE IF YOU EXPECT TO BE TREATED LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING!! RUN!! RUN!! RUN!!

Reviews tell all! This place was recommended (on the list) from the Rancho Cucamonga Shelter. I took my Milo (my maltipoo) there today, because he started to throwing up last night. He's been throwing up since last night. Once I brought him in, the initial quote was 660.00 and Dr Jim Guirges hadn't even done anything. Usually when you get something looked at by a Dr, they will start and progress on what levels of treatment. E.g. give fluids (shot), then blood, then X-rays and if those don’t diagnose the problem…maybe over night stay. This doctor gave me the whole thing, telling me that he has to stay over night...or he might die. This doctor wanted to me to pay the 660.00 off the bat. I asked the Dr. Jim Guirges to give him fluids first to see what that would do and he refused to, unless I signed the paper work to start the 660.00 processes. Basically the treatment started at 660.00 and could go as high as 2,200.00. The final straw was when he told me, "don’t let your dog die". WOW.... A business should not strive on using peoples emotions to get the customer to fork out hundreds of dollars. This place is HORRIBLE! If I'm going to spend this kind of money, it’s NOT going to go to a Vet who tells you "don't let your dog die". This Vet will use your emotional attachment to your pets to dig DEEP into your pockets. I do realize that prices are high for Vet services and that not my issue, my issue is that this "Dr." will play your emotional string to get you to pay as much as possible. -THAT"S NOT ETHICAL. The tech/front people were great, just Dr Jim Guirges seemed a bit off. After leaving Baseline Animal Hospital I took Milo to Banfields in Fontana, this place compared to Baseline Animal Hospital is like night and day! They started with FLUIDS, then took blood and found out he has gastro something (tummy ache). Total treatment cost including meds was 225.00. He’s nice and healthy again thanks to Banfields! Update 5/10/11 Baseline Animal Hospital called The Humane Society and told them I was mistreating my dog and that I would not give him the proper treatment. WOW… They came and saw Milo and said he’s very healthy and good. I gave all the documentation of his treatment at Banfields and the guy went along his way. It’s not that I wouldn’t let my Milo get treatment, I just wouldn’t let him get treatment from Baseline Animal Hospital. Not only is Dr Jim Guirges a horrible Vet, but he will call the Humane Society and TRY to get your animal taken away out of revenge of posting a Yelp review. If this Vet was really worried about how I treated my dog he would have called the Humane Society right away and not 3 weeks later when he saw my Yelp review (has been removed due to him posting my feedback to him).

Excellent service! My cat needed to be seen for an upper respiratory infection and they worked with me to have him seen that same day. They followed up the next day to ask how he was doing which is not something vets often do so that was very much appreciated.

I have brought my Boston Terriers here almost their whole life. Dr Guirges has always been very clear with me, and I felt the response to what they needed was appropriate. And when I didn’t have the money or wasn’t sure which treatment I could do, he never pressured me. He gave me different options and let me choose. I would highly recommend them, they're very kind and never overwhelming. < 3

We took our little old man (cat) to Dr. Guirges when he was in need of real professional help. He was old and starting to have his health issues really effect him. Dr. Guirges and the staff at Baseline Animal Hospital were so caring, loving, and showed indescribable compassion to help our cat. It felt that we were actually being taken care of in good hands. Unfortunately for the long month that our kitty fought to keep going, it was very sad that it was his time. We are so grateful of the opportunity that had to spend with our cat for one last month before he went to kitty heaven. Thank you again, Dr. Guirges and to the staff at Baseline Animal Hospital.

Always have done a good job with our pets. The problem is the price is out of proportion with the services they offer. It seems they are currently overcharging which is just unfortunate as I enjoy the level of service/quality of care and location. The staff is good at what they do. Just can’t justify continuing treatment at this location when there are other reputable vets in the area who do not nickel and dime you as much. They seemed to tack on services that weren't actually required just so they could get a bit extra $$ from me. Was skeptical of this place before and this sealed it. Will seek treatment for my pets elsewhere going forward.

I made an appointment weeks ago for my dog's vaccinations and mentioned to the receptionist if he can be seen for anti-anxiety medicine in anticipation for the 4th of July. They said sure, just mention it to the doctor at the time of your appointment. When I get there, it's a different story. After his vaccinations, I bring up the medication and they say let me see if he you can speak to the doctor. The doctor comes out and then begins to speaks to me condescendingly that he would have to examine him & how can he give him thyroid medication without examining him first. I explained that I asked about the medication when I originally made the appointment and he counters with, they would have had to pull your file & schedule my examination... who did you speak with? NO ACCOUNTABILITY WHATSOEVER . Instead of saying, "maybe there was a misunderstanding, or we only had him down for his vaccinations" he basically tells me how it was somehow my fault that my dog wasn't scheduled correctly when I called for my appointment. Staff was friendly but I will not be returning.
