My dog was there for the board and train and was only there for 5 days before I was told to go pick him up. They told me he was aggressive but never was aggressive towards anyone before. Never did an evaluation just dropped him off . Took days to get a reply back and the owner in charge of my dog never replied to my messages. Then got there and asked questions on what happened. They said the owner in charge is moving away and doesn’t have time to train. So my real question is why say yes I on something you can’t do. Overall horrible experience thought they would be good because of the reputation and the audience they have but was completely wrong

Won't call back or respond in any way! Disturbing experiences reported by clients in reviews here and Yelp. I Won't be taking my dog there.

Been Trying to get of hold of some one for over a week and no luck. Even did what's on voice mail to send an email and still no response. I will be looking for a different training facility for my dog. They were highly recommended to me.

Effective training for Rattlesnake avoidance! We also did private obedience lessons with Rodney. I have trained with various trainers around the country with my former working shepherds but find TMWD truly tailors the training for you and your dog. Rodney was able to troubleshoot our current issues and also be proactive to future issues which may arise with added distractions. I have always found obedience to be very tedious but Rodney's enthusiasm made it really fun for both myself and my dog. I found the price very reasonable for the results and the information which we received. It was a great learning experience and we look forward to joining the group training class.

just good luck

This is the place to be if you want to train your dog or puppy. When I say train I mean for literally EVERYTHING under the sun. They are pretty amazing people. I took my puppy Zova in for a consultation with Rodney this afternoon and immediatly fell in love, he had so many helpful tips and didnt pressure me what so ever to buy anything. You could tell he loves what he does and loves dog which for obvious reasons is so important. Later that day we went back to have our first class with David who is also a puppy whisperer, and really made the class fun for her and I. He was literally able to taylor the entire class to everyones needs in an hour which was extreamly impressive considering all the dogs were at different levels in their traning. David and Rodney were so extreamly helpful and patient with both Zova and myself. I found out I need some traning as well. I called so many places and either the prices were through the roof or the customer service was non existent. They made me feel comfortable in knowing with a little bit of help my puppy will be an amazing dog one day!

Great people. They had our Beagle mix puppy there for a week for training. We are happy with what she learned there and it made out future training at home so much better. She is now over a year old and she is such a great dog.

Be forewarned. The following is a description of our experience with Taylor Made Working dogs. Individual experiences may vary, but this was ours. Please use this information to make your own decision on whether to engage in business with them. We initially reached out to Taylor Made to inquire about a female puppy. We asked a lot of questions about their dogs and their breeding/weening/socialization procedures. They asked no questions of us to verify that we were a good home for one of their dogs. They described their policy as: “We start by putting you on a waitlist for your litter of choice with updates along the way, when puppies are born and on the ground at 2 weeks of age we go down the waitlist and allow the people on the list 24 hours to place a $500 deposit to continue holding their puppy/spot. If they fail to do so we go to the next person on the list.” We were delighted to be told that we were being placed on the waitlist and that we were number one on the list for a female from their EE litter and would have the first pick of any females. We marked the calendar for the likely birthdate and anxiously awaited their birth. On April 5th the litter of 8 puppies was born. We were so excited and immediately marked our calendar for the 2 week deposit date. We followed and liked every picture that they posted on social media and commented when we felt it was appropriate. At 6 days of age Liz even texted us a few pictures of one of the females. We were EXCITED! However, we were confused as to why 3 of the puppies were no longer being mentioned (one female), we assumed the worst and did not want to question Liz as this might have been a sore subject. On April 19th, (the 2 week point) we sent an email asking if they were ready for our deposit. They finally responded on the 20th and accepted our deposit. We thought at this point, there would be some discussion about which of the 2 remaining girls we would like to select, knowing full well that temperament testing would occur at 6 weeks and that this particular puppy might not be a match to our home. Instead, we were given pictures of the smallest puppy in the litter. When we asked about the other female that was clearly thriving, we were told that someone else had already reserved her. We were very confused by this. Weren’t we first on the list? Didn’t we reach out to them to make the deposit? When we asked for clarification, we were informed that the pictures that she sent at 6 days old, was our opportunity to pick out a puppy and that they didn’t think we were interested. Please keep in mind that only pictures were sent, nothing in writing about, this being a solicitation to confirm interest in a puppy. Our response to such text (which was sent immediately) was simply “I LOVE THEM!!” and “Thanks for sharing, Liz!” and no further texts were received from Taylor Made asking us to confirm that we were still interested in a puppy or wanted to pick one. Why would we think that we needed to do more, when their policy said this occurs at 2 weeks? We were very upset, but tried to rally and rebuild the lost trust by asking Liz about the health and current development of the remaining female. Unfortunately, the response we received had nothing to do with the health of the puppy that we were being offered, but was more of a complaint that if we had to ask these questions, then we would never be happy with the pup. Now, let me once again clarify that we were never asked about our home or the life that we would provide for the puppy. And now, suddenly, we were being accused of being an unfit home for this puppy because of Taylor Made’s inability to abide by their own policy (or even acknowledge their error) and our desire to simply know the state of its health. To their credit, they did refund our deposit. This is clearly not a business that we want to work with. Again, this is just one person’s experience. Please exercise caution.

I bought a GSD puppy from a pet store rather than a legit breeder and had numerous problems with dominance, obedience, mannerisms and overly just how to tame my beast of a puppy. I always seen dog training but for thousands of dollars, and I dont have that kind of money to just throw out to strangers who may not take care of my baby Creed. I found Kris on Google after hours of looking, and I saw his videos on YouTube and I was impressed. Never have I seen such a passionate team of individual care so much about a living creature more than the money. Kris and his team's main priority is the Dog, and it was never focused around the money. That is why I trust them. Liz is amazing, she is better than the vets. She has cured infections that the doctors said weren't present. She loves Creed and has this beautiful ray of passion for all dogs and their owners. This team of people are so good to you, it's ridiculous they dont care about the money, they care about your dog. I Highly recommend them. They ensure the dog is having a good time while they are training, and the results are amazing. I highly recommend them. Kris, Liz, Stetson, Gabe no complaints and they remember you and your dog even after you leave, it is such a personalized training facility that it's hard to believe it's California, they have their own land and house that they do the training and they literally live with your dog. -Shalena

My Husband and I recently moved here from Texas. We have two Working line GSD's, we Love the sport of Schutzhund. I myself desperately needed help with my dog and am so incredibly lucky to have found Kris at Taylor Made Working Dogs. Kris is so knowledgeable he can spot any issues you and your dog might have, find a resolution that fits not only the dog but you as a handler. Kris finds a way to explain things in a way you understand. He is patient and truly cares about his clients and their success in reaching the goals they have set for themselves and there dogs. Taylor made facility is set in a country atmosphere that suits all types of dogs. Both He and Liz are excellent roll models for any dog handler in any venue. Check them out you WON'T be disappointed!

I was gifted with a beautiful German Shepherd who barked at everything, the wind, a leaf moving..you name it :he barked. Kris and Liz worked with Mojo for two months as they were trainig him for my specific needs. What an awesome turn around--thanks to them both. They cleared up his infection, tried all types of food to isolate what he was allergic to (he is now on a raw diet and I purchase the food from Kris) and gave me back a totally different partner. Whenever, I have any questions or concerns, they get back with me and advise me of how to correct the action. This is the place to take your furry baby. TAYLOR MADE WORKING DOGS is perfectly named as they TAYLOR your beast into a well manered partner

I have a 3 year old female GSD who needed a lot of careful training due to previous poor attempts by other trainers in northern SD county. Kris has a valid framework which takes time and practice for the owner to learn, but it is highly effective and uses canine instincts with marking good behavior and rewards. During our introductory lessons I learned more in the first hour than I had learned in months of reading, watching training videos and spending money on trainers who didn't deliver. He breaks down training concepts into small chunks that can be repeatable during the week until your canine responds to your commands (he uses leashes, verbal and physical cues). We graduated into intermediate training and my female shows more confidence and is more willing to follow my lead. These group lessons are also very affordable. Highly recommended to take the personal lessons if you want to address specific issues.

Kris Taylor of Taylor Made Working Dogs is one of the most gifted trainers I have ever had the pleasure to work with! I have been in the sport of IPO for a few years now, and have never worked with any one as talented before. He produces amazing puppies, true to breed standard and can handle any obedience problem you throw at him!! If you're in the Southern California area, this is your go to for the best training for sure!
