Pure Grooming Poway, California

This was out second visit for a full grooming, first being a couple of years ago. The owner had his notes and even pictures from the first visit. Our girl was back to her perfect self after the treatment. Needless to say, I've been grooming our dog myself all year long since Covid. So this was great, nothing beats professional grooming.

Mike has been grooming our dog for the last couple of years. He loves the animals. He is careful and respectful with your pet. Our little guy loves to go see Mike.

Awesome, organic, clean, great prices

I have used their self wash and claw trimming services for about 2.5 years, great price on Wednesdays and Rainy days! The soap they provide smells great, everything you need to bathe your pup is there! NO ONE WOULD TRIM CHARLIE’S CLAWS! Petco/pet smart wouldn’t even try. He hates it and is vocal the entire time, but Mike (owner and main groomer) always takes such great care of him! Thanks Mike and pure grooming staff!!

Every time I take my dog to get groomed he always comes out looking like a new puppy. The staff always goes above and beyond with their services and always accommodate as best they can. Mike and the staff are great at what they do. I can't trust anybody else with my dog now.

If you're like me, you are obsessed with your dog. My guy's hair grows fast. He's still a puppy so he's growing out his dark puppy fur and bringing in a nice light coat. Mike help explain that when we got him and what to expect with his fur! It's great because he's been doing trims with Bellamy's cute features in mind. Leaving the ear tips and his long eye lashes. He shapes his tail really well too. He helped give tips about how to get Bellamy used to brushing and other grooming. When you have a Shih Tzu + Maltese + Poodle mix, you have to do maintenance between grooming visits. Cleaning their eyes, ears, etc. Mike knew a lot about this and really helped me train Bellamy for it with just a few simple tips. Mike will do face trims, paw trim/shaping, pluck ears, nail grinding, and the other in between major haircut maintenance. I've trained Bellamy and myself to do some of this stuff but I usually prefer just bringing him in. This location also has self wash with lots of options on scents and shampoos. They have products available like brushes, leashes, toys, and fun stickers and stuff for people. I like the employees I've seen and interacted with. I think there's another groomer as well, but I haven't met him or her. Overall everyone seems to love and care about dogs and their owners. Great place to go.

I wouldn't say they are the worst groomer but as far as quality for cat grooming it falls far below expectations. Lack of paying attention to details and professionalism is what made me write this review. The cut was uneven and even in a few spots looked as if the groomer just did not care enough to finish the job. I had to spot trim when the cats got home to get a more even look. Needless to say at the cost I paid for the cats to be groomed it was far too expensive for the low quality work. I also haven't mentioned that upon checking out they basically demand a tip which is completely unprofessional.

We use Pure Grooming to get our cats nails trimmed. We are in and out in no more than 5 minutes. Fast friendly service every time

Mike and his staff always take amazing care of my goldendoodle! Ginger loves the staff and she always leaves looking perfect and ready to show her new hairstyle off! It is very important for me to have excellent results while keeping my dog going somewhere where she feels safe and comfortable. Thank you Mike and staff on behalf of Roxanna and Ginger! Sadly I did not have the quality of service I have come to expect from this company. Every other time I have taken my dogs here there were 2 men working who were knowledgeable, professional and friendly towards my dogs and the service was incredible. Today, however, I received sub par service. The 2 people working were people I hadn't seen before. My dogs were really hesitant to go back and when they were picked up I could hear 1 of them howling from the back which has never happened before. My husband had to help hold them for their nail trimming. I had asked for deshedding for my husky and he returned to us just as hairy as before. My pit had loose hair all over his body. This was very disappointing as I said before I have always had great service here. If you brings your animals here I would check who was working before booking because the Friday folks were not great.

I was beyond delighted to stop in at Pure Grooming to find my all-time favorite groomer there. He’s not only a groomer, he’s the owner! I can feel safe that I am leaving my sweet dogs in good hands. Mike was always my choice, but he moved away for a while. I highly recommend Mike and his business. The best ever!

Mike is the owner and he goes above and beyond to make sure your pet is in the best hands! The dogs are comfortable with him and the other groomers. Their customer service is amazing and affordable for what you are paying for. I highly recommend checking them out for any grooming needs!

They did a fantastic job. My pup doesnt like baths and she was happy as can be there. She looks and smells fantastic. Great customer service and fair pricing. We will be back!

Excellent grooming care for our Cocker Spaniel.

I took my dog here a few months ago and she has been absolutely terrified to do anything or go anywhere since then. The other dog that I took with her was visibly upset when they were picked up as well. I don't know what they did to my dog, but I would urge anyone to not go here. I'm still working on getting her to go outside after this, she's completely afraid to do anything at all. I hope it doesn't happen to any other dogs.

Mike was my dogs groomer before he opened Pure Grooming. Mike is an awesome groomer. He's very good with difficult dogs as one of mine was a bit difficult. Prices are reasonable and in line with others and Petco.

Called this place on a Saturday late morning to see if I could get my dog in for some pampering only to be answered by a girl in an unprofessional way and when asked if they have any openings she answered in a really rude and snotty tone (I had her on speaker and even my hubby said she was rude) "Ummm not today! So I said thanks and hung up. I thought OK I'll give this place one more shot so I called the following Tuesday only to get an answering machine asking to leave my name, dogs name, phone number and nature of the call, so I did.......NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM. Great way to not get business and I won't ever bring my baby there and give my money to people that are unprofessional and unresponsive! Much rather and was happy to give our money to Dapper Doggery...loved their services and honesty about what not to waste our money on where our dog is concerned.

We have bichons who are VERY high maintenance when it comes to grooming. This place has never let us down! They go above and beyond to make sure the dogs are as happy and relaxed as can be, while making them look fantastic. One of my dogs had a seizure when we were checking him in. The lead groomer came out and held the pupper super tight until it passed, and calmed him down after, all while talking us through what was happening. He then suggested rescheduling for the super early morning slot so pupper wouldn't have to deal with the stress of being around other dogs. 10/10 service and care!

Wonderful. I go to pure grooming to get my Vizsla's long nails trimmed and they always do a great job. Such a pet friendly environment. The owner and staff are always friendly and happy to see my Max.

First time I tried this place. Nice because it’s low stress for my sweet old dog. We bathed her there (no mess at home). After that they trimmed her nails. I had already cleaned mats off her. All I need for her and much less expensive than full grooming. Will continue to use this place!

Mike is a wonderful groomer. He does my two schnauzers and they are always beatiful, happy, clean and smelling good when he is done. He is fast and my girls don't have to stay away from home all day. I would recommend this shop to anyone.
