Watch out for them they put stuff on your account without you being there or signing a contract. My daughter took her dog in and they added to my account that was completely paid off even though I told them not to it was separate account. Now calling me every time I turn around saying I’m past due. Now turned me over to collecti. Very unprofessional. I asked for copy of contract I signed for Lucy and they can’t provide. I wouldn’t go here. Be charged for things that you not responsible for.

My last review was less favorable so I'm rewriting. Previous rating: 4 stars. I changed it to 5 becase though they have made mistakes, everyone doe, especially a pet clinic as busy as Banfield. This vet in Poway is filled with people who care about your animals. They're awesome and always looking out for you. The membership or pet plans help a lot as well. Keep your babies up to date!

I have to travel across the country for work... today my vet called me saying he would not be able to perform a health certificate for my dog.. poway banfield was my lifesaver as they were the ONLY ones with availability to take my boy in! I can not express how grateful I am for their professionalism and reliability to get the job done! Thank you to all the staff and especially macie for scheduling me on such short notice!!! I really appreciate you all!!!

If I could give them - starts I would. We called all over the county to get our cat in who has a broken tail. They were the only ones available and we would be coming from El Cajon. The appt time was at 630 pm. We left our house and called to let them know we would be late but hit traffic and are trying to get there. The receptionist said okay then proceeded to call us back and say the doctor leaves at 7 he will not wait past 5 minutes past the appointment. I replied with not even a couple minutes and she said no. For being a vet you would thing they would have compassion and understand when we were driving from El Cajon. Dr Scott is not a person I will ever trust with my animals because if he truly cared he would not have done what he did. This place is awful and now I warn you to not trust them at all.

Expensive, poor communication, and they make you answer the same questions you already provide over the phone. Wouldn't recommend. Go somewhere smaller.

My family and I have been loyal clients at Banfield for the past 17 years. I recently switched to the poway office when I welcomed a new puppy, because staffing issues at our former office thanks to COVID. I continued coming because the vets are wonderful and knowledgeable. Today a member of the office staff was so incredibly rude and condescending, I’m uncertain that I will ever feel comfortable not only taking my pet to Banfield but recommending your company to every pet owner I meet (as I’ve done). About a week and a half ago I was called and advised to bring my puppy in to be weighed and pick up his monthly flea medicine. I went in last Sunday, to discover the office is now closed on Sunday (not a big deal). Today, I walked into an empty office (mask on and not a customer even in the parking lot), I was immediately shewed out. When the staff member came out, I was asked if I could read because I walked into the empty office after being told by the office staff on the phone that WE COULD WALK IN ANYTIME. She told me appointments are required and when I suggested that the office staff let us know an appointment is required and to also advise that there hours had changed, she told me I could look online for the hours (which is what I did in the first place and were incorrect). She was dismissive and rude and unwilling to listen, cutting me off the entire time I spoke; even walking inside mid conversation. Being asked if you can read is not only incredibly unprofessional and rude but unacceptable. I can say with certainty if I spoke to one of my patients or their family members in such a manner, I would lose my job.

Just a rip off to be 100% honest. I would not recommend this vet to anyone anywhere since they are all over the USA. It’s like paying for a subscription that you don’t use. The only thing you get out of the wellness plan is free vet visits but every time you go they will try to charge you for something else. I personally got the wellness plan and still had to test my puppy for parvo and other possible illnesses that could be fatal to dog. The wellness plan didn’t cover any of this only the normal vaccines that dogs should get. My dog also got bite by a snake and the wellness plan cover nothing at all. I instead had to take my dog to an emergency clinic. So I will say it again this vet is just a ripoff and I would not use them for any service.

They have great Vets and everyone that works there is very nice. You can tell they love animals. I would recommend bringing your pets to them for any health needs.

The worsless doctors I've ever seen. Don't know what they are doing. Knowing that my dog will need ultrasound, they don't have that, but after taking my dog, an examined him, they told me , ultrasound needs to be done.... Carged me $180, they told me i have to take my dog to emergency hospital ...

Great place to take your pets. They got my dog in right away when she was sick and found out what was wrong quickly. I appreciate the care they gave mh dog. The prices are reasonable also.

Do not reccomend! I recently relocated to this area and switched Banfield accounts. I have a dog that suffers chronic bronchitis every 6-8 months from allergens requiring steroids. When trying to renew this prescription without xrays I was told I was wrong and needed to spend the additional hundreds of dollars for them. I have already had xrays for this reason and my dog was last seen June 30,2020 for her bronchitis with a prescription given. I have taken both my huskies to Banfield for years but this location would prefer my money over helping my pet. Will be seeking different petcare after 4 years on this plan, truly is sad. As a dog mom I'm so frustrated that my dog now has to endure this cough until I can fly back to Boise, ID to get her steroid or find a new veteranian. Well done Banfield????

Love the vet and the staff. Macy at the front desk goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. The vet explained everything to me and let me know about their healthy pet program. I took advantage of that plan immediately. My dog was very calm and comfortable there as well.

I've been going to the Banfield Hospital in Poway, California for the last couple of months with my Booboo. They are a great veterinary hospital with absolutely fantastic doctors and they've never refused any service, whether emergency or not. I love this location I love this Hospital for my pets.

We recently brought our dog in for a dental cleaning and received WONDERFUL service from the front desk, tech, and veterinarian. I was a little apprehensive about the visit. Everyone was attentive, soothed my concerns, and took time to make us feel comfortable about the process. They did a great job of communicating throughout the entire thing and explained everything well. I would highly recommend this location. My dog went through the entire experience without a hitch, and I was left feeling very happy with the entire experience. Thank you!

They are THE best. I would trust all of the vets there with any of my pets. I have a cat and 3 dogs, and have seen every vet in the office on some occasion or another. Every Vet has treated us with care and compassion, and the Vet Techs are phenomenal. Even though some are allergic to cats, they still hold and care for my cat like it was their cat, and its very comforting to know that. My animals actually enjoy vet visits, which they never did before Banfield.

Cancelled my optimum wellness plan the same month a comprehensive check up was scheduled (after a year of payments which included 2 comprehensive checkups) and they refused to do the check up and said I would have to pay. I was assured there was no way it could happen and corporate couldn't be called.Do yourself a favor and just buy actual pet insurance.

Amazing staff! Took great care of my dog Kingsley after he was attacked by a coyote. They are kind, gentle & compassionate and it’s obvious they care about the animals.
