Very arrogant. Charge way too much. Their diagnosis was not truthful. All they could think about was my dog was not spayed yet. They told me things that were not true! I raise dogs for 35 years license and registered breeder with an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Doing my dogs dental work is very important to me. It’s very important that my dogs health is maintained, so I do all the dental work for my dogs every year at an extreme high cost to me. I will not be using this vet office, they gave me lots of dirty looks and demanded that they were right even though they didn’t know what the F they were talking about. I hate it when vets try to push their thoughts on you their desires on you. They are here to work for us they need to be truthful and honest at what they’re saying. I will not believe a word they say ever again. I will not be going to the clinic!! beware! beware! beware there’s spaying dogs, telling people their dog is going to die if they don’t have it spayed. I find them to be unscrupulous. Beware beware beware!!!

Brought our baby goat in and they were amazing with him. Very nice staff. Price was very reasonable. Definitely be bringing our other animals here in the future.

Dr. Betsy Grey has been taking care of my 2 dogs for 3 years. She has a plethora of knowledge, and referrals if she doesn't perform a service your pet needs. She is kind and caring, and I would highly recommend her if you're looking for a new vet.

This place has always taken great care of our animals- dogs, cats, and horses. Vets are expensive across the board...and you get what you pay for. Slate Creek is professional and taken great care of our animals healthy and sick for more than a decade.

Dr Grey sent my dog to Dertermatoligst on 1st visit. Diagnosis was Cancer. I paid over $1000 to previous vet that said skin infection & pigment changes on her nose were "freckles".

My dog Smokey bear became really sick wouldn’t eat for days and then stopped drinking took him to a vet in el dorado hills they misdiagnosed him and over the week he started getting worse. Called vet and they told me to just keep an eye on him. I called Slate Creek for a second opinion. I was told by several others they were good. I standby that they were excellent went above and beyond to make sure my pup both felt comfortable and was extremely thorough in their exam. Slate creek found a different diagnosis and within a day Smokey was eating and drinking again, being playful, and no longer looked like he was in pain. The vet techs were all very friendly and welcoming despite all that’s going on with the pandemic. Thank you all for taking care of my buddy and making him better y’all rock!

Odd. Our Retriever was a rescue and we continued her care with Slate. Sweet kind vet the first time. Tough, brusque vet the second time. As I was waiting for my pets results. A room to my left was used ton neuter a cat. It screamed in high pitched agony for ten minutes...then they chuckled and continued to say he was calm now. I asked about the use of anestetic ...was ignored.

I initially liked this place and was glad I chose it for my new puppies. I loved the people I dealt with. Well my recent trip determined that I will no longer be going back. I brought in my other older dog for a dry heaving issue. Well I got him in to be examined and all was well then I just asked about a lump he had, well they felt it and said it just felt like a fatty tumor, ok that's what I thought. But then the vet (different than my first visit) said shes gonna just stick a needle in and pull cells to make sure... so she stuck this tiny syringe in and didnt get anything out and just expunged it on a examining slab (for the life of me cant think of the name) and said it was just a fatty tumor. All well and good... got the bill... the little poke cost over 50 dollars.... not only was I not informed that the little poke that didnt do anything or insert anything was gonna cost anything let alone over 50 dollars... I am not ok with not being informed of how much something will be or if it is going to cost me when you make it seem like it wont. That's to me pretty crooked... they were slightly better about it last time I was in but still dont tell you how much something will be first and that was definitely not ok with me. Even though my first visit wasnt that bad and I liked the people that time, this second visit really made me loose respect for them and I wont be returning. I cant trust them to tell me about something costing something before having it done, I cant trust the life of my puppies with them.

What can I say about Dr Gray? I've never met a more gentle, caring, compassionate vet. I had to take my 5 pound chihuahua there on Tuesday Nov 12 after she was hit by a car. Dr Gray was amazing, and her staff was fantastic. They were so gentle with Laney when we arrived and even had a little fuzzy bed and blanket for her to lie on. This did not go unnoticed. So accommodating and understanding of our tough time. Not to mention the ONLY VET AVAILABLE between 11:30 and 2pm that day in a 20 mile radius. Fast x ray revealed the devastating reality. She explained our likely options and we had to make the hardest choice a pet owner will ever have to make. Dr Gray gave us all the time we needed to stay with our Laney bug. Never once did I feel pressured or rushed. I loved the country feel and the squeaky floor and the personal attention she gave us. Through our tears she let us exit the side door. I know these were the worst of circumstances under which to meet, but I'm so glad we did. I will make her our vet from now on.

I went to Slate Creek because of a good review from someone I knew. But like others have experienced... I too was extremely mislead when it came to a quoted total cost of a procedure. Mine was from a doctor that works there part-time. When you financially take advantage of people like that it can bring financial stress as well as negative energy to the people, which in turn, affects the animals. Veterinary doctors have to make a living but not like that.

Dr. Ladner is the newest member of the family at the vet office for large animal. She is the most caring woman i've ever had the pleasure to be around. Very professional staff throughout the entire vet.
