Dr Hoffman just personally gave me the BEST Christmas present I have received in my 43 years of life: my young pup now has vision on both eyes! I'm so grateful and she and her entire retinal team are such blessings. Long story short. Our young pup suddenly turned blind. My vet originally referred me to Dr Hoffman, but I made the mistake of reviewing Yelp review on Eye Care for Animals prior to coming. So I went with other eye clinic instead. That other clinic determines that she can have surgery but only on one eye because the other eye has retinal detachment. Upon inquiry, I was told that only Eye Care for Animals Pasadena can do retinal surgery but my original eye doctor wouldn't recommend it due to low success rate. I'm glad I didn't listen. Turns out, Dr Hoffman also uses the laser procedure/therapy to prevent future retinal detachment. I learned that this laser therapy is something that other eye clinics typically do not have when they perform eye surgery. (I'm grateful that my other eye doctor was candidate about it when I asked). Then, Dr Hoffman's team fit us in on short notice. My 4 year old pup now has vision on both eyes. Words can not describe how grateful I feel. I wish I had listened to my regular vet and took her here at first instead of trying another eye clinic (that would have saved us a couple thousands + the heartache of waiting). But I'm grateful it worked out in the end and that everything happens for a reason. Dr Hoffman, if you are reading this I want you to know (again) you are absolutely a blessing in this world. May you always have health and happiness! Thank you for giving my pup the chance to see the sun and my kids' smiling faces again!

I was told I could not go in to met the Doctor, I agreed for the initial consultation and exam for the staff to pick up my pet from the car, they do come back and tell you about the procedure. My pet must get further intensive procedures, but If I have not met the doctor not even once, not been inside their facility not even once, they should not expect a patient to come back and hand them thousands of dollars without being able to go in. This is a huge issue for me specially being the fist time there, if they already examed my pet, they know the next step is a huge risky surgery and very expensive why can't the pet parent go in? Met the doctor? Or even see what this clinic looks like inside? I understand what they mean by "for the safety of all, no one can come in" but not even when they tell you that your pet will stay in a dark room for hours before the procedure? Why not? If no one else will be there other than you pet? But I have to trust them with my pet plus over $8k and not even go in to see what they have or not have inside or met the doctor? They might be an excellent clinic, but just like I trust them with my pet who is my life, then they should also try to accommodate for me to go in and met the doctor or see their clinic. This place is not cheap, I only expect to treat me like a paying patient but who know what happens inside, if you can't go in? The staff is friendly the nurse was knowledgeable. But before I hand them $8k and my pet I must met their doctor and see what their operating room looks like.

We live over 2 hours away our family dog has been to multiple vets to save her eyes and she's now blind so they need to be removed per the other vets. A vet is a service and I understand that prices can vary but ball park or ranging quotes or to speak with someone other than the receptionist. They will not email you they will not text I barely am able to make phone calls from our area because service is next to none so a call back isn't a good option. They said no options for me to get any information unless we shell out another $280 to be seen which we can't even figure out if we can afford their clinic for surgery... please get more options to get ahold of someone with more information about your services..

Superior ophthalmology care for our little chihuahua. Dr. Hoffman, and the staff at Eye Care for Animals, are truly experts in their specialty and take extraordinary care of their patients. Our little one has had two separate corneal issues over the years. Each time she has had the highest quality care at Eye Care for Animals and has retained her eyesight and healed well after receiving treatment.

Dr. Hoffman is terrific. I drove 60 miles to get to Pasadena and it was well worth it and the high fees to get an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan after seeing 3 local vets in the preceding 6 weeks. My 5 pound Chihuahua suffered for 6 weeks with pain in one eye and medicines that made the pain worse. Until I saw her today I was afraid he would loose his sight. We are both greatly relieved!

Dr. Hoffman and Staff were very caring and sympathetic when discussing my dog Honey's catract situation. I had taken my dog to Mexico for cataract surgery after reading reviews and having personal refrences. Unfortunately the cataract surgery was unsuccessful and both retina's detached. I needed to have Honey checked out ASAP due to the importance of having retina attachement done timely after detachment. Dr. Hoffman and staff were very accommodating and took me in the following day. I drove up from San Diego and they promptly met with me and took Honey to see if she was a good candidate for retina detachement surgery and if she was they had booked Honey for surgery that day!. Unfortuantely Dr. Hoffman said Honey was not a candidate for surgery because the way the retinas were detached and some other issues (adlibing... her diagnosis was much more clear). She took so much time discussing and was so sympathetic. I really appreciated that she was direct and did not sugar coat the situation just to perform the surgery. Not all Vetinarians are like that! I think it was Marissa ( I hope, sorry if not) who brought Honey to me and saw my pain and said very sweet things to make me feel better, which at that time I really needed. All the other staff I had interaction via phone were also very helpful, knowledgable and caring. Though I was not able to have Honey's sight restored, I was glad to have such a nice experience with this business during a difficult time. Almost two weeks have gone by and Honey is adjusting to her new sight situation and is still chasing a ball (not as far) and is settling in her new routine. Thank you Eye Care for such a wonderful experience with your staff. Jeff Girolami.

They did an amazing job on our sweet girl, Sally. She had multiple corneal ulcers when we adopted her, and they were able to improve her sight and quality of living significantly through surgery. Check out the before/after of her left eye.

Very nice staff that really cares for the animals. The doctor gave a detailed diagnosis and a plan for care. They take Scratchpay or CareCredit if you need help paying for procedures. If I could afford it, I would not hesitate taking my dog back for cataract surgery. They are an incredible group.

I feel so fortunate to live in Pasadena with all these remarkable animal specialists. With Covid restrictions in place I've spent quite a lot of time in parking lots with other crying animal lovers. In this one, people were from Santa Clarita, Bakersfield...a over! I'm so grateful, my 13yr old pup is recovering from his eye removal & still wants to play ball!

Very attentive, professional, and caring. They worked hard to find a remedy that didn't require surgery, and most importantly, made our dogs life better.

Thank you to ALL the staff at this great facility. They were extremely understanding and accommodating during this very sensitive time. The staff went out of their way to get my baby's eye drops in a timely manner, considering I did not call ahead of time per their protocol. Thanks guys, Joy really appreciated having her eye drops!

Very friendly very nice service the facility is clean and my dog was taken care of very nicely, however HEED MY WARNING MORTALS, IF YOU DON'T WATCH YOUR DUE BILL IN DETAIL THEY WILL BASICALLY SNEAK THINGS IN IT ASSUMING YOU'RE JUST GOING TO PAY IT AND FORGET. THEY WANTED ME TO PAY $70 FOR EYE DROPS THAT YOU CAN ASK FOR A PRESCRIPTION OF AND BUY AT YOUR LOCAL PHARMACY FOR $20-$30. YIKES...

Seven years ago, I had been here. Her skills were poor, I was talking about the condition after a dog's eye surgery. She just got out of the room, angry with no answers. And never came back. She ignored me. Rather, the nurse comforted me. It is still very unpleasant.

Very caring, my dog had cataract surgery and Dr. Konrad spoke to me 4 times during the day about various issues. Follow up visits are automatic and staff take care of everything. I highly recommend this eye clinic.

I was referred to Eye care for animals from my Veterinarian. I have been here twice and each time was such an amazing experience. All the staff are extremely nice and attentive. Dr.Konrade is super awesome! She always takes the time to explain everything and is knowledgeable. I love that the call time wait is not hours long. They also come out to pick up your pet in a timely manner. I now go back for re-checks and I trust Eye care for animals because they know what they are doing and the staff is honestly the nicest people I have encounter in the pet health world.
