My dog Spot likes to “eat“ raccoons. He is a very outdoorsy cattle dog. They like to mix it up. Gets his eyes scratched and usually an infection from corneal abrasions. Vision Care for Animals is a godsend. A different Vet wanted to permanently sew the eye closed. Vision care saved his eye with expert treatment. Spot is a happy two eyed dog. Dr McCallum is fantastic. Can’t say enough good things. The BEST EYE VETERINARIAN!

Always a quick experience when visiting this clinic. Dr. Patrick is quick to the point and has done phenomenal job when it comes to taking care of our Shiba Inu, Kenzo. His receptionist are also amazing and are the first people you'll come in contact with. They are very warm and patient.

Depressing looking and over priced. $250 just for them to give me eye drops. The only saving grace is the sweet young woman working at the front.

There are only 3 animal Eye Specialists in the Bay Area, Palo Alto, San Jose & Fremont. I was able to get an appointment much quicker & for a more afordable price at Vision Care for Animals in Palo Alto. When my dog was suffering from an ulcer on his eye I wanted him seen as quickly as possible. At the other two Eye Care places I would have had to wait up to 3 weeks. I found Vision Care for Animals to be very professional, thorough on their examinations and explanation of the medical treatment needed. Their follow-up was very important to me and my dog. Only after trying to cure his condition uninvasively, he required surgery. I had the itemized billing reviewed by my sister who is a Veterinarian and who performs surgeries, to determine if the costs were reasonable. She said most definitely the prices were appropriate. It was well worth driving a longer distance (San Jose) to have my dog seen quickly by this group of professionals.

I brought my Yorkshire Terrier who is 9.5 years old here for an examination after consulting with VetOnDemand on my phone due to notice of cloudy appearance on Mocha's pupils. From booking an appointment to the medical services provided to my Mocha, Vision Care for Animals exceeded all my expectations. The receptionist is very cordial and informative. The office is clean and open, giving customers a tranquil sense of peace when the reasons for the visit might generally worry the pet parent. Dr. Patrick McCallum communicates his findings clearly and succinctly and recommends only the necessary procedures to provide an accurate patient diagnosis His fees are reasonable and the results of the diagnosis are provided via electronic mail. I will bring my Mocha back for future evaluations and highly recommend this facility and Dr. McCallum.
