Two weeks ago on a Saturday I called the office since our dog was critical ill and near death. The man that answered told me sorry there are no vets here and the one that was had just left. I asked where I was to take our poor baby and his answer was you need to hang up and just drive around and look for a vets office. There are a lot in these towns. It was Saturday and any that were open, were closed or no vets available. By the time we did get him to a vets office he past due to a bleeding tumor, that came on so quickly. I will not be taking anything to this office especially if it is an emergency. Rude, Rude and more Rude!

Used to be a great vet clinic but not anymore. I called today to get my dog routine blood work for his heart worm medication and was told they were scheduling late January due to their vet quitting and they only have a part time one now. “Corporate has posted the job and they are waiting for an applicant”. They were perfectly fine with my dog missing two months of meds instead of authorizing an Rx until I could get him in.

Happy to take your money but doesn't follow up. Sadly a once great practice that was privately owned has deteriorated under corporate ownership. Most recent experience: My small older dog had 14 teeth extracted on August 11. The practice was happy to accept $2,000 for the surgery. But has failed to adhere to standards of care in follow up after surgery. No calls. Despite my message that my dog was not drinking water and had developed a lump on her back. While the vet Dr Heinen may do good work the practice did not follow up the day following the surgery and even the second day. I called twice and was put off by the receptionist who said he put my message in front of "John."Not until I insisted on speaking with a person who was not a receptionist did someone get on the line. All I got was from John was "I understand." No real understanding that failure to follow up to see how the patient dog is doing is below the standard of care . Next I was able to talk to the vet. He asked me to bring my dog in. When the dr came into the exam room I wanted to explain that failure to follow up after surgery is below the standard of care and can expose the practice to a malpractice claim which I know because I have been a malpractice defense attorney. Instead of listening Dr Henein claimed I was threatening him and walked out without doing any exam. Walked out mid treatment is astonishing. Another failure is no time limit was put on the prescription for a controlled substance pain medication and no direction provided. This is sloppy. Then the manager of the practice came in to talk to me. Seems that the dr refused to see the patient. So another vet who is not familiar with the patient or the surgery was sent in. When you put confidence in a vet practice it is only fair to expect adherence to standards of care. Asked for my pets' records and moving on to a more responsible and professional vet practice. don’t come here, i called in to ask about a nail trim for my dog and the guy who picked the phone up was very rude, told me they weren’t accepting any “new guests” and he said i was lucky that he answered the phone???? i know they don’t pay him enough to act like that. but that’s what you get with the Palm springs elders ????

Took my dog in for a schedule teeth cleaning @ 8:00am. The lobby is closed due to covid and you have to call and let them know you are waiting outside. I called and was immediately put on hold. A male vet tech came out and said" Is your phone broken and read the sign" I said " I am holding for instructions" He did not give a name nor an hello - and said "will you be in your car or standing here - we will text you to get the info." 30 minutes latter another vet tech walked up to me and asked why ! was here !!! I then told her I was not happy - she said "you can go somewhere else." I told her I would in a loud voice - very loud and said this is the last time you will see me or my dog -!!! FYI - this is the 2nd time I was treating with indifference!!!!! I recommend you not only walk away from this vet - but run!!!

Notice how all the 5 star reviews are from years ago. They changed ownership lol now this place is not what it used to be. I’m begging you not to bring your pets here. They clearly don’t know what they’re doing and now my once healthy kitten is dead. My biggest regret in life is not taking her somewhere better.

Zero stars if I could. Please don’t bring any critically injured animals. They don’t care about the well being of your pet, they just want your money. My kitten fell from a tree and needed surgery on his bladder, I immediately rushed him there and when I called them, the man (who is always rude) tried to turn me away without asking for anything information until I told him I was a returning costumer. I paid $1400 for diagnostics to see if my baby could live. After a day of heartbreak anxiety they called us to pick him up (because they were closing not because he was ready) and gave us his medication and told us to return at 8 am. It was clear he was still dying and died shortly after we picked him up. They made me feel pretty optimistic by telling me he had a 7 or 8 out of ten chance of surviving the surgery, so I’m convinced they knew he would not survive but they just wanted the extra $4000 for it. With the way he looked, I can’t describe the pain and heartbreak I felt seeing my baby pass on like that. It was obvious he was not ready to be picked up and still needed medical supervision. I wish they had just been real with me and told me to take him to the emergency vet in Indio but of course they wanted my money. They told it would be obvious if he was in pain and needed to go to the emergency room after the surgery. I was planning on pulling an all-nighter to make sure he was okay but shortly into the night he started breathing funny and then stopped breathing. I immediately started rushing him to the emergency room but halfway there it was already too late. I just really wish they told me to take him straight to the emergency room after picking him up from surgery. Don’t trust these people with your pets, they’re rude, greedy and unsympathetic.

I just called asking for vaccinations, the person that answered is either having a bad day or is naturally rude. If you want people to want to do business with you, be more inviting and more polite to customers with questions.

Extremely overpriced - hundreds of dollars for an ear infection - go elsewhere

I'd have to agree with the two critical reviews below. Despite the good reviews, the practice is clearly money, not pet, centered. The corporation that owns them clearly has the say-so here. I drove down from DHS, but no more. They literally left pet owners hanging when the pandemic first started - no phones answered, no referral, no nothing.

My cat needed surgery, and died very shortly after we picked him up. They should have told us to take him straight to the 24 hour animal hospital in Indio, but instead they told us to watch him. It happened so fast there was nothing we could do. Me and my family are devastated because of this.

Waste of money.. charged me 67 bucks for maybe 8 seconds of exam!!! Very not happy with this place! Like a fast food vet clinic!! The doctor had no intention of meeting my dog! Called her a boy.. an says oh your dog seems nervous! She is a 3 month old puppy an loves everything! Except that vet!!:/.. boo on you! NEVER GO TO THIS VET !!!!!

Oliver had been neutered and Dr. Kim and staff could not have been more caring. Love the hometown feel of the Hospital. Not a big conglomerate.

Our 10 year old mastiff/pittie rescue, Fella, ruptured his CCL during the pandemic and not only did Dr. Henein and his professional team take him in as a new patient at this incredibly challenging time, they were also able to set us up with a top notch surgeon to repair the injury. A special thank you to technician John Garcia for your kindness, education and follow through. From start to finish we feel very blessed to have been in such competent caring hands.

What a wonderful and caring Place. My kitty Maddie lived 23 years with good quality of life . This clinic was instrumental. The vets and front office folks provided a supportive double whammy —medical expertise and emotional support. Desk staff actually INITIATED phone calls To check in on how we were doing. I was able to share my emotions as My cuddly boy aged And this helped me so much when it was time to let him go rather than suffer. That was hard but would’ve been harder without the support. Maddie had a good full life and a pretty good run!

The staff is always courteous, caring, and responsive. I have rescued 12+ mature dogs over the past 30 years, and the prices, unlike what some other reviews have said, are fair.

Dr. Henein saved my cat’s life on Christmas Eve. He has inflammatory bowel disease and was very ill with constant diarrhea and weight loss. They took such good care of him and after he got better, Dr Henein called me about him many times and didn’t gouge me for a visit. He is now on a special diet he loves and takes Prednisone twice a week. He also has herpes and gets eye infections and I treat it myself. He gets blood work every six months. Their prices are competitive. I am very happy with them.

Tried to book an appointment, called at 8:00am, sat on hold for over 20 minutes. The receptionist came back on line and she just sent us to scheduling voice mail. They are obviously too busy for new customers! Going to check out a different vet that has more time.

Dr. Henein and his surgical nurse, as well as a second veterinarian, performed a flawless procedure in removing a heavily vascularized tumor(?) tied to the jugular vein in my 14 year old Italian Greyhound. The whole staff is professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I traveled across the country over 3 days to ensure Dr. Henein would treat my dog. I would not trust my pets with anyone else but the team at Palm Springs Animal Hospital.

Over priced. Something so simple and they couldn't do it. They right away want to do surgery. I took my dog to Mexicali out there. The vet charged 20$ and that's including consultation, anesthesia, the medication. now my dog is up and running. No surgery needed.

I would avoid this office at all cost. They don’t care about the well being of your animals. I took my two dogs in for vaccinations. They received rabies and kennel cough. One of my dogs has some skin issues going on. So she prescribed an antibiotic also. Everyone I’ve talked to about it said that was a big no no to combine so many things for a dog who’s immune system isn’t up to par because of the skin infection. I wish I would have known better because within a matter of hours my poor dog had terrible vomiting and diarrhea that lasted for 3 days. Bad on that vet. I only gave two doses of the antibiotics because my dog couldn’t tolerate them. I called them back and took my dog back in to a different vet that works there and he prescribed metronidazole. He pretty much blamed it on her diet and not the crazy cocktail of everything she had received. My dogs diarrhea stopped after two days but she continued to vomit so I took her off the metronidazole and the next day she finally started eating again and feeling much better. I will definitely not be taking them back to this office.

My dog got sick while we were staying in PS for the winter. The office was dirty and depressing. After going to see a different vet I learned that the vet from PSAH totally misdiagnose my dogs illness.

David and Mary and their golden retriever puppy, Ellie, received EXCELLENT 5-star service from Dr. Chang and his associates and team at Palm Springs (PS) Animal Hospital. We arrived in PS with a 10-week old puppy and Dr. Chang helped us over some bumpy spots, including changing Ellie's food so that she didn't loose weight or suffer from diarrhea. We wish we could take Dr. Chang back to MN with us. And Ellie loved her visits. Thank you so much! We highly recommend Dr. Chang and PS Animal Hospital!

Friendly and caring staff. Affordable. They always call and follow up, even after Lola gets her shots, just to make sure she hasn't had a reaction. Wouldn't even think of going anywhere else.

I took my pup into veterinary clinic yesterday. Without knowing what was wrong, the Doctor asked if I wanted to put him on medication, I said no ....I asked, how can you even know what medications to give? Later I call the office manger to report, only to be told he never said that!? Question, would you let this go or report to higher authority? And if report, whom would I call? Also was stunned to get a 550.00 quote for a few back leg xrays** is unbelievable. Would you accept this from a MD trying to put your human child on meds, without know the issue?

We had to bring our cat in for help with a UTI while on vacation in the area. We didn't hold out much hope of finding a place that would see us as it was Christmas Eve, but this place was open and took us right in. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. The prices reasonable. Grateful for their help!

We have two young rambunctious boy rescues and sometimes they play rough and get banged up. We can always get in and see a doctor quickly and they take great care of our Jagger and Sasha and send us on our way feeling like everything will be fine.
