The Happy Hound staff did an excellent job making my pups look adorable. The service, care, professionalism, genuine care, and attention that Jason and the staff gave me and my two Chi-Poms was a great experience. I'm so grateful that my client's wife referred me to Happy Hound! I told them due to unexpected circumstances that I need to find a foster home for pups. Jason immediately gave me contacts to reach out to which was awesome and posted photos and flyers to social media and letting his walk-in customers know about needing to find a home for Charlie and Piper. He also offered to let me keep them at his daycare while I was moving and working during the week trying to get my life in order which was a HUGE help of kindness. Paola is a sweetheart and has been a huge lifesaver, taking them home with her at night until we find a home for Charlie and Piper. There are good and kind people in the world. I have nothing but gratitude for the Happy Hound staff. If I was able to keep my two pups, Happy Hound would be our fur-ever go-to for grooming. We thank you again, Jason and Paola! If you want attentive, caring service, I highly recommend going to the best groomer in Ventura County and will gladly encourage anyone to Happy Hound!

Happy Hound does a beautiful job on both of my terrier mix dogs. They are patient and work well with anxious dogs. I feel their prices are very good, and they always fit us in the schedule. My dogs like going to see them too! Highly recommend!

The absolute best it the best in Ventura county. Jason and the crew left our fur babies so fresh and so clean. Do I recommend? Absolutely!! I honestly can’t describe or put into words how grateful I am for this place. Highly recommend making an appointment.

If you're looking for a trust-worthy dog spa to make your regular spot for grooms or daycare, or you view your dogs as your children and want to make sure your dog is being groomed by avid dog lovers who genuinely care for their health & well-being...........look no further! Happy Hound always goes above and beyond for me & my pups. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I've been going to Happy Hound for years now, since they were located in Santa Barbara and I only had one dog...I now have two dogs, and I take both my pups to their new location because they are well worth the drive to Oxnard. I won't take them anywhere else, as they are my babies, and I trust FEW people with them. However my dogs love all the groomers at this shop and are always so excited to see everyone when we go, so there's no worry about scheduling with specific groomers (as they are in high demand and their appointments do fill up quickly...I recommend calling and booking ahead of time - it's worth it!!) Not to mention Happy Hound works hard with helping to re-home/adopt any dogs in need of a furever home. I have Happy Hound to thank for the fact that I even have my second dog and I can't imagine my life without them now! Huge shout-out to the owners and all the wonderful helpful team at Happy Hound for not only bringing Koda(my 2nd dog) into my life but always treating both my dogs with the best service and care and being so patient with me when I get super specific about how I want their hair cut. Jason is especially helpful, he even takes the time after grooming to let me know if my dogs skin seemed at all dry or any other details they noticed since their last groom - They make sure to check them for ticks during their baths as well, which is always nice as sometimes we like to go for hikes right before their grooming appointment. They have an entire shampoo and conditioner + add-ons list that you can look at in the shop if you want to hand-select the products that are going to be used on your pups too!! I can't say enough wonderful things about this place.. They're also only 8 minutes from the beach! Pawrent & doggo approved in every way!! Your dogs will pick up diseases this place is completely unsanitary and the staff is horrendous!

Don't even bother. The owner/manager cursed at me on the phone, my dog had gotten an eye infection from them (according to my dog's vet). The most unprofessional establishment you can go to. Save your money and take your beloved pet elsewhere, don't give these people a dime! Update to the owner's response: Apparently the business owner feels that only good reviews are real reviews. Since he brought up his staff's mistake from May 27th, 2021, as you can see on the calendar, my dog's grooming appointment was scheduled for 2 pm. One of his employees had it down for 10 am. Not only did they never confirm, this owner seems to think that I was at fault for being "very very late." As shown on the screenshot, I had immediately replied to his staff on the 27th of May showing that the appointment was actually at 2 pm, not 10 am. Quite similar to the review left by Gaby F just two months ago on here as well. It seems this owner simply doesn't like the truth. And apparently he doesn't believe in the Freedom of Speech, either. I, and everyone else on the internet is entitled to leave their opinion and ratings on his business. As a business owner, he should be aware of this. It's apparent that not only can he and his staff not keep accurate appointment scheduling as per my experience, Gaby F.'s and several others on here, he/they also can not keep track of their paying clients. I would never give this establishment another dime after he cursed me out on the phone, hung up on me . . . mind you, he had no problem taking my money all summer long even after his staff messed up my appointment on their calendar. Let's go back even further to March when they lost my dog's vet records from RIGHT NEXT DOOR. In wrapping this up: An owner and his staff feel entitled to scream, curse at and hang up on paying clients. Dogs getting infections from there. Losing vet records. Not keeping track of clients. Can't keep track of appointments. Refusing to call or text paying clients back. Not properly grooming dogs or even brushing them out or doing their nails (look at the other reviews). Just all in all, more proof of why this place should be shut down.

Both my standard poodles have been well groomed by Jason and Ash, the owners of Happy Hound. One was Ash’s grooming show dog and she and Jason got the other ready for the show ring. He finished his champion in 2 weekends in May! ???????????? Ash has been on maternity leave and we are anxious for her return soon! ???? You will be lucky if you can get an appointment soon as they are in great demand.????

Take your pets anywhere but here. They are the most unprofessional, unclean facility you could bring your animals to. DO NOT TRUST THEM!

My wife and I will never return. This business owner is now trying to attribute his bad reviews to her. He can't seem to get it through his head that he and his staff are unprofessional and don't deserve to be in business.

My dog's nails grown very fast, and had gotten super long and curling under. Hadn't been able to get in to my regular vet. They took me as a walk-in, and I waited about 10 minutes. Did a better job than my vet usually does, and my dog was relaxed the whole time. Will be going back with my other dog, and get their teeth brushed too. Love this business!

As a courtesy I called to let them know I was running 15 min behind Andrew said no problem by the time I got down and entered the building to get both my dogs I spend more time talking about why I was late then showing me the schedule how busy they are. I wasn’t even asked to reschedule and come in another day. I also waited for someone to come to the front. While others were working on other dogs.As a manager and me professional dealing with the public on a daily basis I have to say that the customer service and work ethic needs to improve. I will not return. For future readers keep that in mind. Lots to learn.

I have taken my two Labradors to several groomers in Oxnard and Ventura and Happy Hound is definitely the best one. Just ask Levi & Jacob and they will confirm it.

The workers were kind, their work was ok; however, my dog has had a VERY strange smell to him since I brought him here and I don’t understand why he made everything smell in my house. I bathed him to try to get rid of it and it has faded but still a little there, was also difficult getting the smell out of my bedding and car.

What a wonderful business this place is. Great customer service. Professional grooming and so much more. I will be coming back!

Brought my German Shephard to Happy Hounds for her very first grooming. I was really nervous as Sam is very vocal, and a bit anxious. I explained this to the lady who greeted me and she said Sam would be in good hands and would let me know if she was too anxious and needed to be picked up sooner. Well she ended up doing great from what I was told and I was texted and informed this, which helped calm my nerves. Sam's coat was so beautiful and the shedding has been so minimal!!! I will definitely be back

They have a limited number of styles but happy with the way they care for my fur baby.

Jason did a beautiful groom on Jaxx & their salon is super clean & friendly staff. They're even going to offer puppy sitting soon. My 2nd time from dog walking group at Seabridge every Saturday ????

After my dog got hurt by another grooming place in Oxnard by a very negligent groomer I was skeptical of taking him anywhere I'm glad i took him here they do an amazing job they have amazing staff and prices I honestly will never take my dog anywhere else ever !!! The best part is you can tell the genuinely care about their jobs

I really like how they cut my dog's hair 3 times I have taken it there but they never pay attention to what I ask for him, how is it last time they did not cut his nails and he already brings them very long, they also always give it to me with many small hairs that get all over my clothes and my car :(

I like the work they did on my dogs but the male who works here made me feel like I'm horrible dog parent both my puppies who are 9 months old are both scared of people because of the home we got them from and we work with them everyday He keep telling me how to do this and that when I told him I know they were going to go into classes but Covid happened but we are working with them he keep telling me after trying to tell him facts about my babies life before us... I really wish he wouldn't have judged us for it when he didn't know all the facts and because we won't be going back

I took our small dog to Happy Hound and had a great experience with them...They clipped her fur and also the nails...They did an excellent job...Even though I live in Camarillo, it is worth the drive to their shop. They have just become our favorite groomer. They are at 3619 W. 5th street in the Airport/ Marina Shopping Center...They were great with our dog...Very professional....Kent in Camarillo
