18 years ago we found a young very sick Mourning Dove in our back yard. It was our good fortune that we found Dr. Nemetz. Jesse has been with us since then and Dr. Nemetz has been wonderful. This includes a major surgery when Jesse ingested some toxic metal. Highly recommend!

The doctor is very knowledgeable. I first went to the bird doctor nearer to my house which was in Rancho Cucamonga. One of our canaries broke his leg so we were told by Alta Rancho that the bird was gonna die and they couldn't do anything so we had to put him to sleep. A week or 2 later We took our other canary in to the Bird Clinic because the same thing happened from the aluminum band. The bird vet was very professional and helped with everything! Blood tests medicine and even nutrition recommendations. I feel like our other bird could've been saved if we brought him here! But still grateful our canary is still alive and healthy thanks to the BIRd clinic!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM for all your bird needs. He has many canaries of his own and is very professional

There staff is extremely excellent they took care of my love bird that was having a egg issue and they took care of it in like less then 1 hours recommend going there

Dr. Nemetz is very clearly educated in his field. He's knowledgeable, kind and makes one feel at ease. He explains everything thoroughly and gives the best recommendations he can. His staff are much the same, attentive and kind. My pigeon was checked out in a jiffy and I came out feeling reassured he had received only the best care. :) Will be recommending to friends and family.

Dr Nemetz, was so informative gave us a whole new diet for the canary, and hope that he's going to be ok.

As other reviews have stated, this is the absolute best place to bring your birds. I drive almost and hour to bring my birds here. Dr. Nemetz knows exactly what’s he’s doing, shares as much knowledge with you at every appointment, and so incredibly skilled at handling my two sun conures. He explains everything in detail, anatomy, different tests he offers, the importance of a good avian diet, and diseases. He has made time to call me and explain results from tests and also to check on my birds after receiving treatment, which I appreciate so much. The environment is professional, organized and clean. Mandy, the vet is also so nice and helpful. What a great team. I will continue to come here for as long as I have birds!

My little conure Cali received excellent treatment with Dr. Nemetz and Mandy. Do not take your bird anywhere else or you will regret it like we did. Be prepared for significant, but necessary dietary changes.

Took my conure here and omg the doctor was amazing ! The front staff was so professional it was a great experience. Little story bought my bird from a breeder who burnt his crop with doctors recommendations my baby is healing and is expected to make a quick recovery. Hand down best avian doctor now he’s our go to !

My sister thanked me so much for finding this place.She went in after many calls around so cal to be safe and have birdy checked out because she left a pan burning for a couple hours and she feared Teflon poisoning.She was so impressed by the tender care her bird received and the antibiotics are almost done( he hates this)We are happy " birdy" is just as healthy and active as ever after this close call. Thanks Bird clinic.Hope it's not needed too soon but will go back -unbelievably reasonable fee. highly recommend!

This is the spot they were so sweet and helpful. They made sure that my 11 year old granddaughter understood everything that was going on because the birds are hers she needs to take the responsibility. Will definitely being taking the birds there.

Took our new baby to see Dr. Nemetz and while I was prepared for trauma (how could a blood draw be anything but with a baby conure?), I was nothing but impressed. Somehow throughout the entire physical exam and blood draw my bird was relaxed and comfortable and no angry squawks or peeps were heard. Baby bird even kept trying to follow the doc out of the room. This is clearly a place where birds are cherished and I think they know it. The doctor took plenty of time to answer all our questions and make sure we were on good footing with our responsibility as new bird owners. Glad to have such a fantastic avian vet so close to home.

I cannot imagine better avian vet than Dr. Nemetz. Our cockatiel had a huge tumor on the back and a cancerous growth near the tail. Any other clinic would not be able to do anything. It was a very complex case. Dr. Nemetz took care of our bird and his treatment helped her become tumor and cancer free. His assistant Mandy is super nice and knowledgeable.

Do not go here. I was told the examination over the phone was 150 something dollars. The vet goes through the motions, doesn't mention a single price of the test, and we receive a bill for almost $1000. Nothing was communicated. Update: When I spoke with him over the phone, he continued that I was lying that he never told me the cost of the test. Then, he insulted my age by saying "I've been doing this for far long than you've been on this earth" Do not go here.

You do NOT want to take your birds anywhere else! We in SoCal are so fortunate to live so close to one of, if not THE best avian vets in the country.  Dr. Nemetz has been at the forefront and led advancements in avian medicine for decades. You can find a tremendous amount of info online about that so I'll let you see that for yourself. I've been taking my birds to Dr. N. for over 15 years.  He provides the highest level of care, diagnostics, and has access to the most advanced technology. Other vets that treat birds can't even come close to what he can do and I've met a few that can even misdiagnose your bird due to lack of expertise and that can be deadly. Not only does Dr. N. have the credentials, but he genuinely cares about the health of your birds. Now, he may not have the best bedside manner and can be a bit brash, but never mean. He is nice, just straightforward and honest. So if you're sensitive about that, I'd sincerely recommend putting that aside for the well being of your birds. He will not do you wrong. Dr. N's prices are fair for what he does.  I don't think anyone would want to go to the cheapest doctor for their own care, and I certainly wouldn't for my birds.  I can tell you from personal experience that his top priority is the health of your birds, and NOT money.  There are many times where he could have done tons of additional tests and diagnostics but took the sensible, affordable route when it made sense.  Medical care is expensive, folks, you just feel it more when insurance isn't covering it. Dr. Nemetz is good people. I am so thankful for him, he saved my bird's life and I wouldn't take my feathered kids anywhere else!

Dr. Nemetz is an absolute specialist. He will give you an honest assessment of your bird companion. Keep in mind, howevet, that he is a *specialist*. He trained many, many years and has pioneered surgical techniques. He is excellent at what he does. That said, it is expensive. I wish he could charge less, but I totally understand why he is expensive. You are paying for state of the art treatment in a facility just for birds. If you have concerns about pricing, ask before you go, get an estimate. The bills can be eye watering. But he's kept my bratty little bird alive despite how seriously ill she is. She's getting better and I firmly believe that no one but Dr. Nemetz would have been able to save her.

Dr Nemetz is amazing with the birds and is very nice. My bird burned her eye and he fixed her right up and gave me tons of advice as far as nutrition, handling/taming, etc. Worth the price for avian care. Not many places treat birds so this place is great

I had been to 2 different veterinary offices before I came to see Dr.Nemetz with my cockatiel and yes it was expensive like the other reviews say but it was 100% worth it he's an amazing avian veterinarian. My cockatiel got better after just 1 visit she's even gained weight with his diet recommendation so I couldn't be happier he is now the only person I will be taking my cockatiels too.

Dr Nemetz is very knowledgeable about parrots. Expensive consultation but worth it. No comparison with regular vets who see birds on the side.
