Leaving my dog in the care of those at Dogspot is like leaving my dog with family. I know he is loved and well taken care of. I can enjoy myself on vacation knowing he’s in good hands

Staff is prompt and friendly. My dog LOVES going here! Totally ignores me when he knows he's about to go in. Really like the cameras they have to peek in on your fur baby too.

Dog Spot has been a lifesaver for me and my Bernese mountain dog puppy Leo. This puppy has been a lot of work for me! He’s a complete sweetheart but he’s strong and really loves to run. Leo is at 90 pounds now and only eight months old so he needs a lot of very active playtime with other dogs. After a day at Dog Spot he comes home exhausted. Carlene and her staff are top-notch professionals who really care about your dog. Their facility is extremely clean and I’m really grateful I found them.

DogSpot is amazing! We love going there, the girls up front are always so kind, friendly and loving to our dog. Our dog wants to run through the door, greet all the employees, and run straight to the back to see his friends! We trust everyone there and know they love our dog as much as we do!

I love this place! I’m so blessed that it’s close to home! They treat my Marley girl as if she was their dog. I haven’t used the pick up and drop off services yet! But maybe sometime in the future! The owner cares and isn’t afraid to work along the side of her employees! Especially during these tough times for small business owners. She leads by example. They also give a military discount. They care about those who served this fine country! I hope to see this beautiful caring business grow in the future. (All up and down the west coast)! Thank you, for taking care of our fur babies! The Moody family:)

The staff is wonderful. Very kind and professional. I know he's well taken care of and safe there. They also have cameras if you ever want to check in on your pup, which I think is great. They also check and make sure all the dogs have their shots and keep track of their health. They even have a vet and groomer that comes by certain days and if you choose, you can schedule something for your pup and save yourself a trip. I've boarded him there a few times already and I always feel content leaving him there in their hands. At the end of your dog's boarding stay they email you a report of how they interacted, ate and slept each day. This also shows how well they look after and care for the dog's. It seems like it would be pricey but the prices are very reasonable and the best I've seen. The Dog Spot is the only place I'll take my dog and he loves it.

DogSpot is probably the best doggy daycare and boarding place I've been tool. I used to take my baby boy Chuck and he would be out like a light when I picked him up because he had so much fun playing with all the dogs. Now that my boy Chuck has passed on, I'm blessed to take our new baby Reggie and now we can watch him play with all the doggies too via their web cams. They seem to hire the nicest people too. The owner really thought this place out and the setup is so smart. They are constantly keeping it clean and I never worry about our dog when he's there. If I had to make a suggestion, I'd only change their Sunday hours ❤️

Doesn’t allow staffordshire terriers or pit bulls because ‘their amenities are too stimulating for the breed.’ I guess I was unaware that all pit bulls are the same and hate stimulation and playing with other dogs. But don’t worry, they told me their not trying to contribute to the stereotype of pit bulls...

Had a good temperment check. Cameras are quick and responsive. Facilities are top but could use more room for number of dogs. Staff was friendly and thoughtful

This review is regarding the training aspect of this business only. I met with the trainer a few weeks before our training session. We went over everything that the training session would entail. I knew training would take place in the parking lot and I knew it involved using the e-collar which I was completely fine with. My dog and I arrive to the training session and my puppy was very excited/anxious. It is a new atmosphere and there is so much going on, which I felt changed his personality during the training session. There are people/dogs and cars coming in and out due to the fact that they have a doggy day care as well. The trainer greets my dog for maybe a minute and then immediately puts the e-collar on him and takes him outside to start correcting him. He starts getting crazy because he is not used to this at all. They go out to the parking lot while I watch from the window and the trainer is correcting my dog with the e-collar a few times and after a few corrections, my dog lunges and tries to bite the trainer! My dog has never been aggressive in his life and I was shocked/very uncomfortable. After that, training was still continuing and he was corrected multiple times then continued to try and bite the trainer any time he was corrected with the collar. While still outside, the trainer picked him up and turned him upside down and was yelling at him. Trainer brings him in carrying him by only the skin on his back, and screams at me "He is an a**hole and spoiled!" and also called him a brat while dragging him through the office. I thought it was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. I would hate to see someone else's dog treated this way. Needless to say, the trainer's style was not the right fit for me and my dog. If you want your dog trained in a quiet and controlled atmosphere, where they are focused and treated firmly but with love, care and respect that the dog is someone's baby, I strongly do not suggest this place. Although I felt horrible my dog lunged at her to bite, he was provoked due to being uncomfortable. I felt very disrespected as a dog owner and I felt terrible for my dog that he was treated so poorly.

Arrived to drop off my dog at 12:01 pm on a Saturday. I called in the morning to ask the hours. They didn’t tell me they lock the front door at 12noon sharp. “Just pick up by 4”. I was in the parking lot preparing the leash just before 12noon which made it extra frustrating. I knock on the door, the attendant comes out and says “can’t you see we are closed for lunch?”. I explained I planned my whole afternoon around dropping him off to play so I could visit my grandma (no pets aloud at her facility…). I couldn’t believe she turned me away. Telling me to come back at one when it’s 12:05… learn some customer service

Fine for younger dog boarding. All dogs are uncaged, together in one area. Not going to work for my 8 year old who is used to being on his own and laying down all day. He was worn out after a three hour stay for testing.

I have waited to post this review for some time now as one never wishes to damage the reputation of our local businesses, however, I would be doing my fellow fur parents a disservice if I did not share my personal experience with Dog Spot. I wanted to love Dog Spot. They were the best of the rest in approximately a 10 miles radius from where I lived, Northern Carlsbad 92010. My husband and I vetted approximately 7 daycares in search of the right one for our fur baby, Maverick. We needed a new home away from home since moving back to SD, a home that would be equally loving to him as his previous daycare was. Maverick has attended doggy day care since he was old enough to do so at approximately 6 months. We needed a placed that would be his second home, was clean, did not cage him, had loving staff that loved him as their own, and that ultimately took care of him. Back in June of 2020 after picking Maverick up and arriving at home we notice a bump on his hip area. Upon further review we noticed it was a gash approximately 1 inch wide in diameter where he had been bitten. We were shocked which quickly turned to anger my part as to how my fur baby was sent home with it, and more so how this was missed in the first place. In route to the ER we called the Dog Spot whom were very apologetic, were unsure as to how this could have happened but would be looking into it while looping in the owner, Carlene. Yes, Dog Spot responded appropriately right away while offering to cover the complete bill if we took him to their vet. We ultimately took him to our vet as that is whom we are most comfortable with. It was never about the money, and we were willing to pay whatever was necessary to care for our fur baby. You see Maverick is the sunshine in my world. He is a fun, loving boy who is a part of our family. He is my fur baby. Since that incident we made the decision to never return to Dog Spot. I personally cannot wrap my head around the fact he was sent home like this, but even worse that this was not noticed when it occurred. I can’t speak on the internal dynamics and set up of this operation as I do not personally work there, but can only look back and speculate that perhaps the blaring music in connection with what I found to be a less than ideal dog to human ratio may have prevented the staff from being able to properly hear the sounds and interactions that take place between the dogs that attend there ultimately resulting in Maverick being bitten by another dog. Dog Spot did properly follow through with me after the incident, and they reviewed video footage but were unable to determine when the incident occurred. Yes, they handled the situation as best they could. Yes, these things happen amongst dogs. I personally could not get past my fur baby being sent home like this for those reasons we have never returned to Dog Spot.

Horrible experience. Their staff gives misinformation. Over the phone, everything sounded great but as I brought my dog to them was told something completely different. Now my plans needs to be changed because of the bad information provided.

Hands down, amazing!!! The cage free setting is the best. They are loving, attentive, caring, clean, fun, friendly, and reasonable for all they offer. We use both boarding and daycare services and refer frequently since we have found them. Our Aussie Shepherd pup comes home exhausted and content and when she goes back she scratches to get back inside to play with her friends. It’s adorable and makes our heart go pitter patter. Lol. She loves it at Dog Spot. Highly recommend!!!

I have a beautiful loving pink belly Pitbull who just loves to play and make friends. He has plenty of socializing background with many dogs from parks and dog beach has never been aggressive and he is well behaved. When I called to inquire about puppy day care I was told they don’t accept PitBulls. They didn’t even give him a chance to get to know him. Everyone that meets Bub falls in love with him but this place said no to him for being a Pit.

If you are looking for a day care that truly cares for your dog or need a place that is accommodating and flexible(because you have a career and sometimes things come up) , this is not the place for you. If you ever come across this person named Brittney, your day will be ruined because she doesn't know how to respectfully talk to clients. Spend your money elsewhere- there is a plenty of day care spots in the area.

My dogs love DogSpot! They always have a great time playing with their friends in the daycare yards. I love the webcams that let you watch your dogs play all day, and your dogs are never alone or crated, even at night!

We visited the area for one week in Dec, needed to drop off the dogs for a day, amazing experience, clean and the dogs were happy and tired when we got them.
