Great caring place for our puo

I was in a tough position with a sick cat I took in the day before. They were not only helpful, professional, and responsive but they were very personable and understanding of my situation. All help isn't good help. The quality of service was phenomenal and the staff that took the time to help this cat and I did more than they should. That speaks to the culture they have there. The cat is on it's way to better days. Thank you.

We've had great experiences with our cats at Grand Lake Veterinary Hospital—first with our late, great old man cat who had some pretty challenging health issues, and since then with a couple of fosters and our eventual foster fail. Everyone is super kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a bargain hospital this is not it. If you are looking for skilled, attentive, and caring staff and doctors that spend more than 5 min with you, then this is your place. They call not just before but also after procedures to check on your animal, and you, and answer any questions that you may have. The people working there clearly love animals and that comes through in the way they interact with our dogs.

Vets are the best. Competent and take the time to talk in detail about your pets condition. Staff is also very friendly and professional. I couldnt be more satisfied with their services. They also offer homeopathic care.

This is the best. Great staff Good equipment ( ultrasound, digital xray etc) . This really is the best regular vet. . I am editing one year after leaving this review. That was a misnomer to say this is a regular vet This is by far the best collection of vets including the vet support office team and vet techs I've ever known and I have worked with animals probably for about 50 years I have met individually good vet techs as well as good vets but under one roof to have such a stellar group of people I have not seen And that's including specialists etc I trust these vets with the most delicate and fragile old dogs of our population or cats etc they know their stuff I know they get the best care when I take them there. Also if they feel that your animal needs to see a specialist they will let you know .

We have been taking our dogs Reese and Zelda to Grand Lake Vet for over 2 years now. They have always been outstanding in responsiveness and professionalism. In the last 6 months, our older dog Reese got cancer. They have been genuinely loving, compassionate, supportive, and understanding as we have dealt with this difficult time. Thank you Dr. Parton and Dr. Pogrel and all the Grand Lake Vet staff for being so consistently wonderful, for both routine visits and difficult visits like the ones we've been having with Reese. You are all deeply appreciated.

Grand Lake Vet. has always been very responsive and reliable. I have Benn taking my dog there for 2-3 years now and have always been happy to even though there other vet. services closer to me.

Adopted a 3 year old calico cat a couple of months ago that had previously been treated at Grand Lake. We've had cats and dogs and have used other vets in the past. But we decided to continue the relationship with Grand Lake. They have been incredibly professional and responsive when I have had questions regarding the cat's prescription, and yesterday I brought her in for a checkup and they were safe, efficient and again extremely professional. And the cost for the visit was very reasonable. Very happy with Grand Lake and looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship.

Not only was Dr. Dunn very thorough and patient, but I was impressed with how ethical she (and I can assume her practice) is. Ex. she advised on flea preventatives that can biodegrade. I also find it generous that her practice waives the initial kitten visit when you adopt.

The day before a holiday Dr McDonald fitted my dog in to remove a foxtail from his ear. Everyone was professional, friendly, informative and my boy was in and out of the office, minus foxtail, within a couple of hours. Dr McDonald explained the whole process and described the outcome she expected. I felt part of the process and comfortable handing my pup over to her care.

They have taken care of my Frenchie for years

Both of my pets have been receiving care here. While the DVMs have been great, the receptionist (by phone) this morning did an absolute disservice to this business. I do hope and expect that a conversation happens so the continuum of care is not interrupted for anyone else's fur baby.

These guys are great. Super experienced veterinarians and techs, always really helpful and willing to answer any questions, accommodate individual needs/ preferences, etc. (Have also been wonderful, safe, and helpful during pandemic shutdown.)

I highly recommend this vet! We found out about Grand Lake Vet when we adopted our cat from Oakland Animal Services as they offered some sort of promo deal with newly adopted pets. My cat has visited a few times, with reasons ranging from a checkup, nail trim appointments, ear concerns, and getting sedatives for a plane flight. All great experiences!

Grand Lake is a wonderful vet hospital, I highly recommend it. The vets are very kind, very knowledgable, great listeners, and great at explaining things. I feel like my pets get excellent care with the latest treatment protocols at a reasonable cost.

Grand Lake Veterinary Hospital, and Dr. Wood in particular, have consistently gone above and beyond for me and my pets. I recently needed to move out of the country *during a global pandemic*! Not fun. I was worried about getting my cat and elderly dog situated with such a complicated international process, but the staff and Dr, Wood took care of everything I needed and kept the costs low. Moving was 1000% less stressful because of the care and attention to detail we received, and I am forever grateful for the patience and compassion shown to us while I low-key freaked out about forms and regulations and traveling safely. When/if we are ever back on Oakland, I will be bringing my pets back to Grand Lake. HIGHLY recommend.

I appreciate how caring every member of the team is. They obviously adore every pet who comes through their door, but they also care about the human beings. They understand that people come with their own limitations, which means pet parents need compassion, too. They don't make assumptions about what a family can afford. They lay out various options to make treatment financially accessable. We save money by scheduling all of our pets in one wellness visit each year. Dr. Dunn is our regular doctor, but we've also seen Dr. MacDonald on multiple occasions, and she's great, too.

All-around excellence. Doctors, techs, office staff. Everyone at Grand Lake Vet Hospital is friendly, efficient, professional. My dog get the best care available anywhere, no question.

I have been going to this WONDERFUL staff for 3 years. My pup has fought HORRIBLE hives and this staff (especially Victoria) have always been so helpful. I can always trust them to listen and really do what’s best.

Super friendly staff and very willing to work with you to try and get your pet in if there's a concern. The vets I've worked with here always ease my anxious pet mom mind, and don't make me feel silly for bringing my animals in for what might seem like something small. Very impressed with their service and care, and the prices are reasonable as well!
