From the initial contact to picking up Gracie, my dog, the staff made sure that I was aware of all aspects of her care. I very much appreciate the way they have handled the every shifted landscape of COVID while still maintaining a high level of care. They are exceptionally busy and I was shocked to be able to know that they were taking on new clients as other vets aren't doing so. Each person I spoke with was patient and caring and made sure that I understood the procedures, the reasoning behind them and the costs. They were efficient but I never felt brushed off as there were a lot of people waiting. I was great to be able to safely speak with Dr Lowenthal and the other staffers in the parking lot to understand the next steps as well. This is a wonderful vet in the area.

Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Dr Gross is great. She made a good solid connection with my dog before examining him. So is Dr Jones but my dog was traumatized by another vet(not here) who looked just like her so I had to switch.

We take all 3 of our cats here. Just pulling into the vet and it feels like a nice spot, and after talking with someone each time I’m always re assured they will take the best care of my kids!

Love Blue Cross Pet Hospital! They were the first ones I went to for a vet out here in LA, and I do not regret it! They love my girl so much and take such good care of her. They've vey communicative, almost too much, but I would rather have too much than too little! I would recommend them to any pet owner!

I took both of my dogs there because there regular vet wasn’t available at the time and this was closer. It was more expensive than there normal vet but i thought ok it’s close by. But now every time I go back they become more expensive. They want to do blood work constantly for just refills of medication. So an extra 236.00 just to get a refill they prescribed under 6 months ago isn’t worth it. Nice staff but the constant up charge has become ridiculous I won’t be going back.

Blue Cross agreed to see my pet as a last minute appointment when he was sick, even though our own Vet and three other clinics said they were booked up and had no availabilty. I definitely liked the kindness and thorough care my fur baby received.

Was shocked with price of medication. My cat was prescribed a common blood pressure medicine that I can get at CVS for $0.10 per pill. Your hospital charged $3 per pill. That's a 300% markup. I think that's outrageous.

5 stars for this hospital everyone is so amazing I been calling everywhere for the past month to bring my dog in for dental issues all I got is that sorry we don’t have any room we are limited but blue cross was the only one that took my dog in as a walk in literally I called 50 different locations... the doctor was so sweet she totally understood my situation and gave me a lower estimate on his dental surgery I am beyond thankful and grateful .... allero pet clinic was asking triple the cost thank you again for everything blue cross you guys are the greatest ????????????????????????♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I came to blue cross on a whim. There was a scheduling error with my vet, and they were unable to see me within an appropriate amount of time, and boy am I glad that was the case! Where every other vet had 2-4 week wait times, blue cross got me in, in a couple of days. I showed up 1 hour early because I wasn’t quite sure what to expect in terms of wait time. They had a full appointment list, but we’re still very kind and courteous. The staff was quick and efficient, they treated freckle with the utmost care! I would give them a very easy 10 out of 10! One of the best vet experience’s I have ever had!

My cat 'Baby' had an emergency and I was impressed with how quick and responsive they were. I would recommend Blue Cross Animal Hospital to everyone.

Deteriorating establishment, no longer proud to call this my Vet. Expensive Inefficient Rude Staff I have been coming here for years, and I am done putting up with the negative experience. I seem to continue to leave disappointed and upset. Patients deserve better than this.

Blue Cross is the number one best vet care you can go to for your pet. Dr. Gros and the team of wonderful nurses and professionals at Blue cross have made this an absolute safe haven for my pets and for any pet. The care they provide is unmatched to any other vet ive visited and have consistenly great communication with us for all visits. I am in GREAT relief and joy knowing the team of doctors are taking care of my pets and that their pricing is extremely reasonable. They were responsive during high volume hours and took the time to speak to me about each issue and the proper course of action. There is no better vets in all of LA. A hidden gem truly. I am so happy to have found a trusted vet.

I highly recommend going elsewhere. I brought my rescue pup in because he was scratching a lot and had developed scabs and pus filled bumps on his skin and it went from barely there to suddenly everywhere within days of getting him. Dropped him off and already I was nervous because I'm a first time puppy parent and I wouldn't be with him for his first trip to the vet. The dr called me maybe 20 minutes after dropping him off to get what little history I could provide (I had him less than 2 weeks at the time) and stated what tests and treatment he wanted for my pup. No explanation behind his treatment plan, lots of pretty crucial information missing from the call (such as how to avoid this situation in the future, what to look out for, how to care for my pet while he heals, etc.) but I get another call later to discuss the bill and come to find out it's $1200. I want my puppy to be well cared for and healthy so I agreed to pay it assuming the vet knows best but something just felt off. I did hours of research after picking up my puppy (who was handed to me by a tech wearing gloves and had him wrapped in a towel) and found out that two of the possible diseases he was tested for are highly contagious. No warning from anyone here that I should be handling him with gloves and an apron which explains why the tech brought him out the way she did. No explanation as to why the vet thinks he has two highly contagious diseases when myself and my friends who have all spent tons of time around him have absolutely no symptoms what-so-ever (which was discussed with the vet since he asked if I had any symptoms) Just a $1200 bill that likely should have been $200-300. I've got friends who have taken their pets here and after speaking to them they agreed they've also worried the place just up-sells everyone on treatment plans. If it was just a money issue, I wouldn't care as much. I'll pay top dollar for quality care for my puppy. But I have no faith in this place at all. It's bad enough my pup and I had to wait in the 90+ degree heat in the parking lot for 20 minutes before they finally came to take him from me. I had to wait another 40 minutes in the sun waiting for them to give him back. Find another vet that isn't going to treat you like an ATM.

I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars because pet owners were not allowed to come into the office because of Covid-19 concerns. I didn’t like having to leave my dog and wait in the car. Otherwise the care and communication was excellent, albeit the visit .cost more than I realized it would. I would definitely come back however because Dr. Lowenthal and his staff were wonderful.

I can't really comment on costs, as I don't track costs from vet-to-vet, so who knows? I do know that Dr. Howl took very good care of our senior cat, Spike. He feels much better now. All the techs were wonderful, too, as well as reception. All good, thanks! : )

Please read if you care for your pet! I took my 4 months old dog for a vaccine. The nasty lady that returned back my puppy after 20 minutes and was looking at my dog with an evil look. Like I've never seen anyone looking at my puppy like that. He is only 4 months and possibly was afraid and moved and I assume they hurt my dog, which I'll find out by taking him to another vet! Now my puppy is in terrible pain, he doesn't allow me to hold him in my arms, he screams because of the pain. I'll find out what happened. And they also made my cousin's dog deaf just in a month. They will be sued very soon!!!

Every time I leave my kitties with the friendly doctors, nurses, and staff at Blue Cross, I know I am leaving them in good hands! My cats are my babies, and I was really apprehensive about leaving them at the vet's without being able to go inside with them to comfort them, but every time I've visited during these strange times, I have always left feeling confident and relieved. The doctors are very helpful and informative and cover all of their bases in trying to keep our pets happy and healthy. They are super patient and answer all of my questions in detail, and they truly appreciate how special our pets are to us! Very professional, clean, organized, and kind, and I will continue to visit with Apollo and Mojave!! We love Blue Cross!

I like the veterinary care at Blue Cross, but the operations are somewhat sloppy. I ordered a refill of medicine for my dog, and they gave me a two week supply. When I reminded them that he takes this pill twice a day, they took about 40 minutes to provide the correct number of pills for a month's refill, but the pills came back crushed and jammed into the top of the pill container. It was a challenge to get accurate information on care once my dog was discharged.

They literally almost killed my cat. TL;DR: didn't give a dehydrate cat water, left her freezing overnight, tried to physically hand her back with a catheter and IV needle still in her, told me I "didn't know anything", repeatedly pushed for expensive needless extras, they made a value judgement about a bank issue, disturbing lack of empathy My two year old cat had a case of worms, and she stopped eating and drinking for several days meaning not only was she clearly dehydrated, but she wouldn't take the worm meds. We took her to Blue Cross, told them EXACTLY what was going on. Specifically the lack of food and water. We drop her off, and get a call about an hour later saying they're recommending bloodwork, an xray and some other stuff, estimated $600 we say ok. We go to get her right before they close, SURPRISE! it's going to be almost $900. Well, there's a bank issue with that much funds. Being very clear, a bank issue, not a lack of funds issue (not that that would make it any more ok). Because this is right before closing, they tell us they're off at 5, and therefore they can't give us our cat back before we pay tomorrow. After, that is, demanding "why can't you just borrow that from somebody". Next day, we get a call at 9:30 am saying our cat is doing so much worse, she's probably going to die, and also SURPRISE NUMBER 2 they forgot an extra charge of $150 they didn't add to yesterday's bill! Yay! At this point we told them to do ONLY what was required to rehydrate her, and we paid the bill. We get there to pick her up (fully paid at this point) and a vet tech brings her out, hands us a random bag of stuff and says "you have to hurry because she has the Iv needle in her". Absolutely gobsmacked, we asked more questions, finding out that not only did she still have the IV and catheter still in her, but they hadn't bothered to administer the meds, and the "special equipment" we'd been charged for was a target heating pad, because nobody had given her food or water overnight. After being horrified and demanding they take it out, we get ANOTHER call, saying the doctor wants to do more x-rays and tests because "we still don't know and she's going to die otherwise". We said no. The admin manager I spoke to, when asked why she hadn't been given IV fluids, responds that " well she didn't seem dehydrated" despite us telling them she' hadn't eaten or drank in 4 days. We also get emailed a bill for the IV fluids separately, with 5 different items listed on it including several antibiotics. When I challenge that, having only authorized the IV fluids I get told "ok, you don't know anything" in probably the most condescending way possible. Probably the icing on the cake was looking through the record sheets, and seeing "lack of funds" literally scrawled across the page. To sum up: my cat is fine now. She starting eating three days after this ordeal, a day after we starting gently syringe feeding her water which we should evidently have done and saved ourselves over $1000.

I have been taking my dog here for about a year. Then came COVID. 20 minute holds. Waiting in car for dog pick up average 20 minutes. Dog being seen 40 minutes. Paperwork/estimate 25 minutes. I had to put down a neighbor s dog. 2 hours!! It was excruciating!!!!! No more. Plus grooming takes at least one month to get in. Again, no more. And I noticed, Blue Cross doesn’t bother to reply. They don’t care and their prices are ridiculous.

Called at 8 for an emergency appointment, they were able to get me in at 9. My poor kitty was in so much pain yelling so she needed to go in, I get so nervous because I know you can't go in with your pet during this covid time and you want to be there to comfort them , but everyone was so kind and attentive. Within about 20 mins of her going in the doctor called me to talk about her condition. Dr Lowenthal was so nice on the phone, he even made me laugh while talking about my pets name, he was so nice and reassured me he was going help get my kitty out of pain and figure out exactly what was wrong. I could tell just from talking to him that he really cares about his patients which was so reassuring because this was our first time at this vet.. He suggested the normal procedures for an emergency , blood work, urine analysis, and xrays, and it came back that she has a torn acl. The price was amazing actually lower than I had expected! I was quite surprised have paid up into the 1400-1700 range for the similar procedures and we paid around 1000.00 He gave her some meds at the vet to help with her and sent me home with some meds for her as well. I had to call the vet again after we were home and the girl on the phone was so nice and helpful and walked me through aftercare once more. So grateful to have found them, so grateful they were able to get me in, they did a great job and took care of my baby. Will be using them again and would definitely recommend them!!

There was so little communication with the vet and myself. I am so disappointed. I made clear that I wanted to be informed of any suggested treatment before and treatment was done. The vet tech assured me that they would call before they did anything. The only phone call I received while waiting in my car for my dog was to tell me after the fact that they went ahead and treated and shaved him. So disappointed that there was no communication prior to my dogs treatment.

My boyfriend took our dog,Sophie, to this animal clinic 4/10/21, he was advised our dog could have cancer and we had to pay 500.00 for some tests. We paid the money, my boyfriend has been calling Dr. Jones for the results. Tomorrow is Wednesday and no call back. He has left several messages with no return call. To tell a person that your beloved fur baby could have cancer then not do a follow up call is un called for. Total disregard for the person and stress that they are putting on a client. If they do not have results, a call should be made to state this. However, no call back, is not acceptable.

This is a long over due review The vet I was dealing with said that they will put my dogs estimate together and will get back to me well they never did and when I called they said and no estimate was ever put together so I asked 3 times and still no estimate after that I went to another pet hospital in burbank off of empire st and have had a excellent experience there are no price gouging and very reasonable in pricing and the best is the hospital in burbank has less staff and the wait is not long at all. And they called me a few days later just to ask how is my dog doing.

I can’t say enough good things about my vet Dr. Gross. I love her. That said, having to wait on hold for 10 minutes EVERY time you call and again in between each staff member and when your waiting in the lot and when you pay is insane!! They clearly need more staffing. I hope that things change soon because it’s really frustrating. Again kudos to Dr.. gross and the techs. It’s not their fault but something in management has to change!

I had a rescue from a puppy mill. Even though I brought up concerns about her age and health, the vet did nothing to double check. The puppy I had was covered in ticks and fleas but they said nothing about it. Take your animals else where. These people don’t care

Honestly they're so sweet to take me in last minute as a new client. I was so worried my dog broke his legs and turns out he has arthritis ???? They were fast and sweet contacting me through the phone since they're only taking drop offs at the moment due to COVID. I want to thank the lady on the phone who attended me and took me in last minute she was so helpful thank you! Wish I had gotten your name. Thank you Blue Cross Hospital I know my fur baby is good hands ❤
