Dr Rick and others are amazing here! Have been coming here for years. My only complaint is they are so good that there is a wait for regular appointments at times. Still they are worth the wait!

A little pricey, usually honest and knowledgeable. Sometimes I disagree with their diagnosis but that's what second opinions are for.

My dog isn’t that fun when he’s high. He had surgery here and after the vet told me he might be a little out of it from the drugs they gave him. So I was expecting him to be like those people on Youtube who post videos of how they were after they get their wisdom teeth removed. He ended up being nothing like that. I feel like he got more serious and contemplative. Th whole ride home he was just staring out the window, it was like he was having some crazy revelations. He was probably questioning who he was and his role in the universe. Not just his role as a dog, but his role as a living organism in this world. I wish he could tell me what he was thinking, but even if he was able to tell me somehow, I probably still wouldn’t understand. He was on another level, a level that was way too deep for me to ever fathom. When we got home, I wanted to feed him because he probably had the munchies, but I then remembered the vet said he shouldn’t eat much after surgery. I decided to turn on Netflix so he could just zone out and relax during the high, but he wasn’t having it. He started to stand in one place and cry. I started to pet him, but every time I stopped he would start crying again. He was starting to have a bad trip. I tried to get him to lay down, but I think he forgot how to do that. Eventually he was able to ride out the wave and calmed down. He seemed to come out stronger because of it. This place taught me that Moose isn’t the most fun when he’s high, but he sure is deep. The only regret I have is that I didn’t play him any Leon Bridges, Adele, Maggie Rogers, or Rainbow Kitten Surprise. I’ll be more prepared the next time my dog gets involuntarily high.

My animals have been clients of South County for almost twenty years, and I've grown to love every doctor, vet technician and front desk/customer service person. My life has been blessed because of their love, care and professionalism as they minister to my animals. Two of my animal family, Miss Kitty I (tabby), and Seamus (Jack Russell/Dachshund) are no longer on earth, but they received the very best care before their departure from mortality. Dr Dani helped Seamus live the last six months of his earth life under the very best of circumstances. Miss Kitty I and Seamus were able to pass away in my arms. I now have two small rescued canines, Zucca and Pappilon, a rescued kitty, Miss Kitty II (she came with the same name as my previous cat, I just added II), and a rescued rabbit, Esperenća. Dr Dani recently helped to save Zucca from a serious challenge with his liver, even consulting with a specialist from a different vet hospital to bring more expertise to improve Zucca's chance for recovery. I love this place, because they have truly shown love for my animals and for me, always mindful of my input into treatment and careful with my budget. Love, trust, and professionalism; that sums it up!

We absolutely love this vet, especially Dr Rick. We move every couple of years for work so we’ve had vets in 7 different cities over the years and this place is absolutely top tier. Really great with our dogs (and late cat). One thing we love is that Dr Rick doesn’t just look for the maximum he can do (as in, chasing $$), he candidly discusses what is appropriate and reasonable care for the age and condition of the animal and looks out for the owner’s needs as well. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I have been coming to Dr Rick for over 25 years, he sees all my animals and is THE ONLY DOCTOR I trust with my kids. The whole staff is VERY professional, friendly, knowledgeable and very very clean inside. I come all the way from San Jose. Thank goodness for this place. They are very loving and caring to animals.

Just took my newly adopted dog for a first checkup. I am seriously impressed by the staff of the South County Animal Hospital: From the first call to make an appointment, through the actual exam and the recommendations, I found the staff and doctor to be friendly, patient and caring. My dog does have trust issues and Dr Dani Fusco took a lot of time, feeding him treats and petting him to build rapport. Overall a very pleasing experience. Strongly recommended!
