Really appreciated their service! They saw my bunny promptly (I was lucky that there was a vet comfortable with bunnies on the night of my emergency visit). Thankfully my bunny perked up quickly after treatment!

After taking our boys to several different veterinarians in the area, we can say Dr. Herrmann and the rest of the people at MPVESC are the best! The people are very friendly and the facilities are always fresh and clean. Even when we arrive after hours with a dog in pain we are welcomed and are seen quickly by the doctor. We appreciate Dr. Herrmann's direct style and value her expertise. We recently boarded our dogs there and they seemed well taken care of. It was tough for us to trust someone with our boys for several days as we had never boarded them before. We picked them up and they were happy and clean. We highly recommend Dr. Herrmann and everyone else at MPVESC.

Thankfully we only had a minor emergency but the doctor and staff were professional and courteous in spite of working on Xmas Eve. I watched as others were treated and brought in and everyone was treated well and professionally.

Excellent emergency service and a caring staff. Dr. Harris and her assistant Pearl were professional, quick and caring...all that I needed for my pet in an emergency. They have the latest in machines - including xrays, blood analysis, scanners, etc. You cannot go wrong using this clinic - they work hard and absolutely give the very best in care. They even copied all the results, gave me the read-out and a CD of the xrays - plus they faxed a copy to my vet's office. Cannot ask for anything more - and the price was VERY reasonable. Would recommend this center to anyone in need of excellent care for your pet.

After reading reviews I had high hopes this vet would be able to help me and my cat. Unfortunately, after being 40 minutes late to our scheduled appointment, the vet on site only quickly checked over my cat and sent us on our way with no answers, as well as a much bigger price tag than mentioned over the phone. If you have a cat and are looking for a new vet this is NOT the vet for you. After visiting Purrfurably Cats I was able to receive the care and medication I needed for my pet, but I feel terrible he had to wait another uncomfortable two weeks due to a lack of thorough veterinary work. It was a chaotic and unprofessional environment that did more to stress my pet than heal him. I do not recommend this place if you're looking for a primary care vet, and would even hesitate to return to them in an emergency situation.

Our little dog was bitten by a big dog Friday nite. Holiday weekend in Santa Cruz, no vets available, so we drove over an hour to Monterey. Dog lost a lot of blood and had trouble breathing. Another two hours in the waiting room, then the vet spent less than two minutes with our pet. Pronounced her fine and dismissed us. Dog continued to bleed and gat worse. Had to go to another vet and she is scheduled for surgery. This place did nothing for our pet.

Although everyone seemed friendly enough I wasn’t very impressed. I took my little dog in thinking he may have had a stroke. I’m not sure if the name of the night doctor but she was a very stern woman with an accent. She was nice enough but didn’t seem very compassionate and had a hard time answering our questions. She said my dog probably had a stroke and to bring him back in in a week and they will see if he is any better. She alluded to the fact that if he isn’t better in a week or so I should put him down. I was devastated. I did my own research and learned that most dogs make a full recovery from a stroke and it could take up to 6 months. I also found a physical therapist for my dog to help him walk again. I was disappointed with what she told me and if I had listened to her my dog probably wouldn’t be here today. Also they sent me home with the wrong bloodwork. Ive called 2 times and also emailed them trying to get the right bloodwork. One phone call I had the receptionist plain out told me she can’t because she is to busy. I love how they let you come in with your pet and that they weren’t very busy but I won’t be returning.

Had a slight emergency that a neighboring clinic ( you know who) dropped the ball on. After calling around distraught and worried Monterey Peninsula vet got me in quickly and took care of my girl promptly and with the utmost care. They arnt into price gouging like the other place and truly care for your pets.

Monterey Peninsula Veterinary Services at Ryan Ranch consistently has provided compassionate, continuous and competent care for our pets over a span of twelve years. We cannot praise this organization enough. Need to deal with an emergency on Sunday morning? You will be seen! Even on an emergent basis when unfamiliar staff have treated our pets, the service has been consistent, honest and above all, compassionate. We have required euthanasia services. Monterey Peninsula Veterinary Services has gotten both our pets and us through these events. Perhaps the location at Ryan Ranch is off-putting only because the entire Ryan Ranch complex--composed of all kinds of medical services-- is quiet and overwhelming and sterile for humans and for pets. Inside Monterey Peninsula Veterinary Services, however, you find kind and helpful staff. A regular front-desk professional, Heather, works efficiently and is the on-going familiar face we encounter upon arrival and on the phone. If you are looking for a warm and fuzzy experience for yourself and your pet, reach out to your small-city, old-school veterinarian. If you are in need of continuous, cost-effect care for your pets, do not discount Monterey Peninsula Veterinary Services because its greatest asset is the youngish up-to-date veterinarians and staff. On several occasions I brought my dog to this so called 24 hour vet only to be told that they can see the dog in 3.5 hours (they always say they’re starting a procedure) I returned at 6:30 Sunday morning to be told the same story. “Starting a procedure” and it would be a couple hours prior to being seen by a veterinarian. This is very suspect and I would suggest that there’s not a veterinarian on site to see the animals. You just don’t start procedures at 6:30 Sunday morning. We were the only ones in the whole building. This place is a SCAM!

I have gone to this facility for the last three years with many of my pets. The staff is always friendly even when they are busy. Dr. Herrmann has been our primary care veterinarian for years and has also been available during emergency hours when my pets were in need of care. The team is so kind. I was so embarrassed when my dog accidentally peed on the vet tech. The tech was so gracious saying “No problem. It’s part of my job!” Monterey Peninsula veterinary service is the best 24 hour emergency clinic around.

Dr. Katja Herrmann was shockingly abrasive, dismissive, and unhelpful. She even mocked me for asking a question about my dog.

The only reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because the supporting staff was AMAZING and they got my dog in within 10 minutes after arriving. But that is where the positivity STOPPED. The vet had the ABSOLUTE WORST ENERGY ever. It was EXTREMELY negative. It was as if she did NOT want to be there, and she was going to make sure YOU KNEW THAT! her attitude was horrible. We even heard her speaking to patients that came in after us, and she was extremely rude. Thank you to the supporting staff for being SO KIND and understanding! I don’t know how they even work with a vet like that… so sad.

Although the supporting staff was FANTASTIC at this facility, I did not have a great experience with Dr. Herrmann. I will honestly never go back to this facility because of her. I felt as if she just wanted to get my dog in and out as quick as possible. She was very dismissive and interrupting me when I spoke. It was such a negative experience. I left feeling extremely defeated by the care she provided.

My mini schnauzer had an abscess in his paw and I took him to Monterey Peninsula Vet. The wait was short and the doctor discovered a fox tail embedded in his paw. The procedure went well and my dog completely recovered within 7 days after meds and antiseptic care. My thanks to the competent and professional staff at the vets

They did a good job getting a fox tail out of my dog's nose, however, they really seemed overwhelmed and therefore rather rude.

I am very pleased with the help that I received for my dog Moo Moo's at Monterey Peninsula Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center. It was very reassuring to have a 24-hour emergency Center that could help her. As soon as we walk through the door they where there, and took extremely good care of her when she needed it the most. I'm very grateful for the staff for being there for us. I would definitely recommend anybody who may have any worries or concerns, when it comes to their pets that this is a great place to bring them to.

When it was time for our beloved pet of 15 years to be put down, Monterey Peninsula Vet provided empathy, support, and patience and made a dreaded experience much more tolerable. Their staff is very caring and professional, I highly recommend them.

Dr. Herman is hand down the best vet we’ve encountered since moving from Los Angeles. And she is on par with our beloved vet in so cal. This woman is incredibly caring and works tirelessly. You couldn’t ask for more from the person protecting the continued life of your pet. She is no B.S. and cuts straight to the matter, which I find refreshing. I don’t care about small talk when my dog’s life is on the line, and neither does she. We brought our 15 year old pug in during emergency hours and two days later he was better than he was before. Frank is happy and alive thanks to the incredible work of Dr. Herman and her team. We are forever grateful and have become life-long clients after just one visit. THANK YOU MONTEREY PENINSULA VET FOR SAVING FRANK’S LIFE!!!!!!

I had to find a pet hospital since I was only visiting the area. Of the two pet hospital‘s in the area, this one said there was a two hour wait, and the other one didn’t even have a doctor until noon. I was calling at roughly 8:30 in the morning. Upon arrival, they didn’t even say hello, or ask what was wrong, they just said you might want to go somewhere else we are on a two hour wait. Tough to do when the only other hospital didn’t have a doc in. There wasn't any triage. (A little surprising given they are an emergency hospital.). They did not take a temperature. They did send us home with some antibiotics which provided some relief for my pup. However they didn’t call with lab results. I had to call two times before they called back. When you need a pet hospital, it is important to feel confident that they are taking good care of your beloved pet. They were rushing around so much and moving so fast it was hard to imagine that it was thorough care. If there was an emergency that took over or made it an especially chaotic morning, I understand, however it didn’t seem like that was the case.

I've been taking our dog(s) and cat(s) for over 5 years. The staff is great and I always feel my pets are receiving the best care. As someone who has used the after hours service more than once, this is a huge benefit. Easy location to get to with plenty of parking and I love that I can stay in my car with my pet until they are ready for us and not have to wait in the waiting room.

They always take good care of my little Christmas. She was seen at this clinic when she had seizures and now when she developed pancreatitis. The doctor and the assistances are always so kind and understanding. They always answer all of my questions and concerns and provide options as what you can do to help your pets get better. I definitely recommended this place to anyone.

The staff here were incredibly professional and respectful in my time of need. My cat was killed by a car around midnight and I had no idea where to go or what to do. I'm so glad they were open!

Unfortunately I had to use their services for a humane euthanasia of my dad’s dog. My dad passed away and his dog was almost 16 and had significant medical problems. I took him to MpVet and they were very compassionate.
