Would not see my dog after she suffered a devastating brain Injury. Told me “sorry we can’t see her until Jan 26th”. Had her in Vet Er on Jan 15 with head injury. Needs meds and follow up but these people can’t fit us in. Have to take her back to ER and find a caring vet. Less than 0 stars. My hope is my Tinkerbell recovers. No thanks to Nichols

Got a same day appointment and was very pleased with the entire process. Our Dog was examined and treated for an eye infection for a shockingly affordable price. Thanks for the great care of our pet. Highly recommend.

The best place in town for boarding. My dog can be difficult sometimes but he is always excited to see the staff. This is a testament to their great service and care of the animals they board.

When I needed care for my kitten, I was referred to Nichols. Sandy answered my call and was wonderful to speak with. She was professional, compassionate and helpful. They're highly impacted, have limited appointments available and we're not able to see my kitten that week, which I completely understood. Sandy took the time to followup with me the next day to offer me something sooner and encouraged me to check-in in the case of late cancels. I didn't not have the pleasure of fully working with Nichols but my experience calling-in was definitely reassuring and pleasant. Thank you Sandy!

I just moved to the area and my pup got sick. They were incredibly helpful, responsive and so professional sweet to my very scared pup during the visit. I would recommend this vet to everyone! 10/10.

I think I finally found my local vet. I have been trying different ones in the monterey County area and have been disappointed at all of them until intried Nichols vet. They were so helpful and informative. They have an authentic passion for animals that made me feel safe when taking my dog. They set my pup up with a great regimen to not only fix the symptoms but to address the cause. I highly recommend this spot.

Since moving to Monterey back in June, I haven't needed to take my dog to a vet, but around 9pm last night our poor pup developed symptoms of a UTI. I think I got maybe 2 hours of sleep bc she kept whining to be let out all night. I was searching for local vet office frantically through the night. I called Nichols Veterinarian Care right when they opened and they got us in right away! I had Dr. Samantha Martin as my dogs vet today and she was WONDERFUL. I couldn't go inside bc of COVID rules, but she called me and was so personable and I really felt listened to and that she really cared for my dog. My dog doesn't get along with other dogs at all, so they kept her behind the desk with them and (sounds like) spoiled her with attention and treats. ???? Dr. Martin gave me many treatment options and the costs up front. They also have a 10% military discount. I'm so heartbroken we'll be moving soon bc I wish she could be my dog's permanent vet. Everyone was so wonderful there. If you have a pet and looking for a Vet, I can't recommend them enough.

My husband and I were visiting Monterey with our 2 little Chihuahua mix dogs. One of them - Polar Bear - appeared to have been bitten by a tick and showed some symptoms of Lyme disease. The person who answered the phone was so kind and although the schedule was full, she got an open time for a visit that very day. For exam and treatment, Dr Allies was very, very helpful. She examined Polar Bear, took blood, removed the tick, prescribed medication, etc. and kept in touch by phone with my husband and me as we waited in the car (due to Covid restrictions). Thankfully our dog was able to come home with us and is now back to her normal, playful self! We really appreciate everyone at this veterinary office whom we saw or who helped us that day. Thank you very much!

Be prepared to empty your pockets if you go here. We have no problem paying for good care. We moved here just before the pandemic so we were looking for a new Vet we trusted. We were happy with the first visit, but had difficulty verifying her shot record with her previous vet. We were told it was no problem, we could just bring her by for the shot once we verified it. They charged us for ANOTHER exam fee less than 2 weeks after her complete physical (exam fee). Really? One shot ended up costing us over $100 for a less than 5 minute visit. To top it off, because of COVID, you can’t go in, so they just take your credit card. I never authorized or was told about the charge for the exam fee. The office manager was no help, she said she would have to get the owner to call back. Never happened. Guess we will move along to the next one And I suggest you do too.

I was honestly going to let all the bad stuff go, as my last visit was in July and I was done with my “puppy package”. Over the course of my puppy package they tried to give my dog the wrong medication twice, consistently snatched my credit card out of my hand (without ever giving me a total), and on my last visit the decided to “throw in” a $40 supplement without my permission. When I called to let them know their error, they acted like they were doing me a favor by allowing me to return an item THEY dishonestly charged me for...but at least I was done with them, right? Wrong, I get a letter in the mail this week (now October) letting me know they messed up in calculating my final bill (that I paid back in July) and I still owe a whole $5.24. You’re kidding me... Please take your pets else where this place is a clown show.

Nichols vet care is so patient and caring with my anxious dog. The first time I brought him in he was scared and they sat on the floor and threw him treats until he warmed up to them. Highly recommend

Hands down THE best customer service around! Every time I call or are in need of anything they are upbeat, professional and make sure they have taken care of your every need. They love our fur babies as if they were their own. 100% top notch!

I was charged $170 for a "complimentary intake exam" on a dog I had just rescued. I asked to see the invoice in my car and said that I would call with my credit card information (in the parking lot) to pay; their answer "no you have to pay now." I figured it would be $30-40 for the medication that I did ask for more of, but it was $170! I did not even get to see the invoice before they took my card. I was confused because I thought it was complimentary? It really makes me feel that this place only cares about money They also sent me an estimate for a single tooth removal for my dog... $950. I had a previous dog's eye removed (as well as a neutering at the same appointment) for $700. Just a major scam. I am taking my dog elsewhere in the future.

Dr. Allies is wonderful. She is so kind, knowledge and always goes the extra mile. She deserves 10 stars. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because a past vet at Nicole Veterinary Care was like an old used car sales man. They would try to force us to get all these extra treatments that were not necessary at the time.

Nichols is a great vet really professional vets and quality care. We've been taking our pup and each experience is always great. I have no complaints about the quality of care. They give you all the information however they do at times encourage additional testing that may not be necessary. Their prices are comparable to others in the area. At the end of the day, if you can't afford pet insurance and the cost of keeping a fuzzy friend healthy, then a pet may not be good decision. I will say that some of their prescriptions are more affordable to buy elsewhere but some are also cheaper. Quality control is something always to keep in mind, if it's cheaper elsewhere, ask if you trust the source and why it's cheaper. I find my flea medications are much cheaper elsewhere but most other prescriptions are cheaper and safer to get through the vet directly.

Dr. Nichols is Amazing! The office is always clean, the staff is very friendly and attentive. She assessed our cat (whom we thought was dying from a spider bite), she knew exactly what to do and what medicine was needed. Our cat was already looking better the next day. I always leave knowing our pets received the best care around. If you're looking for a vet, Dr. Nichols is where you want to go.
