Rude. What is the problem of finding my cats destroyed all the staffs at home and want to return them back. Is that need to be a threatening to be banned from their list from future adoption? All the adoptions process is good but they charge many extra fees such as food and carrier like if we don’t get these extra we cannot take them home. We said we are going to buy a carrier and back soon and the lady said oh I don’t have time later for you guys, which is obviously an excuse. You have the time for charge the money but no time for moving the steps to take them out?

Rude lady was giving me attitude the second she answered my call, told me that we we're denied for a kitten due to answering a question stating we would have the cat inside and outside, I was trying to explained to her that we meant that we would have the cat on a leash for walks and to be on our patio supervised and she told me that that was against their policy, but nowhere on the website stated that. She told me that we are banned for any chances to adopt and then hanged up on me. I have donated cages, dog houses and cash to this organization and the one time we wanted to add to our family they spit in our face and will not donate to them anymore

Extremely rude people that work here..They make you feel unwanted. I can’t believe they are still in business.

I apologize in advanced for the length of this review. I am in search for an emotional support animal as I’ve had two brain surgeries and was so excited to come give the pups a look here. Being that this animal rescue only has 3 stars I still wanted to give it a chance. I walk up to the facility looking for a door to enter and it says ’closed’. I see through the window a gal just glaring at me. My partner goes to open the door and the door literally fell off of the hinge. We were holding the door up while the gal ran to grab a woman..(who I’m guessing is her mother) and wants to know what we were there for. I told her I’m looking to adopt a pup and she says “well we’re not open”. I told her that I saw that they were open on google and she says “well we aren’t and I don’t pay Google”. She too acted as if it were our fault that her business door fell off of its’ hinges and was so rude to us. I don’t understand how this lady even has a business caring for animals. Not to mention that inside where I seen many cats, was extremely cluttered. I’m so disappointed. I hope they treat the animals better than they do potential adopters.

We adopted Out little Lucy luvbug there! She is the sweetest pup! She loved our kids and got along so well with our frenchie! They began playing immediately, it was so cute! I would recommend Ontario rescue if you're looking to adopt a pet! UPDATE: Lucy has been registered as my ESA animal and she has been wonderful addition this past year! She learns quick and listens well! She is playful and happy ALL THE TIME! She is our sunshine on a rainy day kinda dog! We love her! ADOPT don't buy!!!

Such a disappointment. I wish I would have seen some of these reviews before choosing this facility. We Rescued a dog from them who had 2 of the 3 vaccines. We live over an hour away and the puppy gets badly car sick which of course we had no way of knowing before adoption. We arrived early to our final vaccine appt but since I didn't have the paper card they would not give it to her. When given the contract and documents the girl said NOTHING about have this card with you on your final appt or else! If I forget my kids vaccine cards it's no big deal cause they have them on file right? How would anyone know this isn't the same? Even though they have her documents and have done every other vaccine AND I wven have photos. I also offered to pay for another card which documents say u can do just to make sure our dog was protected since it was the last day for the vaccine but went to ask and came back our saying no they needed 72 hours advance notice? Thinking there must be some solution since they can't want one of their animals to be unprotected I asked to speak to the manager. The "manager" would only send teenage volunteers to speak to me that she was too busy and then on lunch. I called in to speak to her incase she just didn't want to in person and then they hung up on me and blocked my number??? I mean I guess I thought a 'rescue' was worried about the animals best interest and protection... why aren't the animals the top priority here? I guess $600 isn't enough money to care? This isn't a shelter dog where I would expect 0% care or consideration. Such a sad situation and beyond unprofessional for a family who is loving and caring for your Rescue animal. Can not recommend people waste any time or heartache here.

I Had the best experience here at Ontario Rescue, the facility could be improved, but they are loved. I walked in for a meet and greet and I went home with my black kitten Roman. I love him so much and you can tell he was loved. I wish I could adopt all the kittens especially the black ones since they are the least adoptable. But I paid for a sponsorship in hopes to find him a new beautiful home. I am definitely recommending this place even though it is far. Here are a few pictures of my baby boy <3

We had 20 puppies! And couldnt get rid of them all, so this place kindly took in the extras and helped them find a home ❤ so greatful. It was quick and easy. Just signed a couple of papers. (Boy dog got both girl dogs pregnant had puppies same day, 1 girl had 6 the other 14)

They didn't want to help. They said that the ducks roaming the streets that were almost hit by cars on a busy street were not considered an emergency!!!

The place was clean and all the staff welcoming. They took in a special needs kitten without even asking for a rehoming fee. Places like these don’t have enough credit for helping and sheltering animals in need. Forever grateful ????????

This is a shelter that says they care about animals, but in a time of need they would even consider taking puppies or kittens. Not right.

Worst communication/ customer service ever. The staff doesn’t respond to emails, return calls or inquiries about adopting an animal. Very rude and unprofessional.

I don’t know how this place works. Do they adopt the animals out to only people they know, or, do you have to know someone who knows somebody??? I don’t know. BUT, I submitted an application twice, called countless times, left a voicemail (when that was still possible, because for whatever reason, I called again and voice mailbox had not been “set up”) and they NEVER got back to me. If something was wrong or missing from my applications, or if they flat out did not want me adopting one of their animals, a call or email would’ve been appreciated informing me of this.

The only reason you should adopt through this place is to get the animals out of the horrible facility, where the cats are walking around with vomit, food, and feces on the floor. We love our cat and are happy she is out of this facility. In our contract, with the adoption fees we were to receive all of her vaccines, and get her fixed. My mother missed her appointment because she wrote the date down wrong, and the owner called and harassed my mother. My mother was not able to get a word in. She told my mother she would no longer get her vaccines through their shop and hung up on her. She also would not answer when my mom attempted to call back. Unreal customer service. We will be moving forward with getting our funds back. STAY AWAY!!

DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE. On 01/03/2021 I adopted a kitten from the the resuce, he was under 8 weeks, not fully vaccinated or neutered. The actually facility itself is disgusting, the smell of urine and feces over run the place. The animals look unwell and not cared for. The staff and manager are beyond rude and inconsiderate. They talked badly about other adopters in front of me very nonchalantly. The employees look miserable. The application process was a JOKE, the manager told be if I didn’t buy a crate for the kitten I wouldn’t be able to get him. This was at 7 PM the night before the adoption day. Of I went a did what was told because I wanted my kitten. They also over charged me from cat litter that was $15 and bag and they asked for $25, and a small ziploc bag of food that was $10, they made it seem like I had to buy it from them or I couldn’t take my kitten home. I signed a contact that I would follow up with his future shots and neuter. Per the contract it states any appointments canceled cannot be rescheduled. On Friday, 04/02/2021 at 1:30 pm I was contacted by the shelter to schedule my kittens neutering, they said they scheduled him for 04/22/2021, I told them I needed to get back to them, not once in the conversation did they say this appointment was unable to be rescheduled. My husband and I both work for the Air Force so I told them I needed time to speak to our supervisors to get time off. I reached out to them 04/05/2021 to ask if there’s another available date and that’s when they stated the appointment that I DID NOT confirm from the beginning was unable to be rescheduled. There was no consideration or proper communication with the shelter. Once again, save yourself the trouble and heartache. The only good thing that came from this was my kitten beside that this place and the people in it are garbage.

It was such a great experience adopting Stormi. I am so impressed with Odelle and Noelle - they were so patient and supportive! And the quality, organization and dedication of the volunteers. The animals are clearly well cared for and known and attended to with the sort of attention you don’t easily find. This shelter is run by real animal lovers who will go the distance to make sure that each pet gets areal chance at a safe happy home. So this means that they are going to go the distance and interview everyone who applies to adopt. Lots of people don’t understand the responsibility they are taking on - and take adoption seriously - which leads to abuse and abandoned animals. I am grateful to this shelter for the time and love they put into their work with these babies!

I have had the most wonderful experience here. Yes they ask a lot of in depth questions but it is for the safety of these cats! I got my wonderful kitty Maze from here and it was the best experience I have ever had. These people work so hard and have so much love for these animal that they won't just give them to anyone willing to pay. Thank God! Please have grace with the workers. I got my kitty no problem and she is the best thing to ever happen to me. They check up on you and the kitty and answer any questions you might have.

Very unsettling vibe at this “rescue.” I spoke to the head lady on the phone briefly, and she was nice/polite. When I went in for my appointment to see a dog, unfortunately I spoke to a different lady (dumpy with black hair and glasses), and she was very rude and unprofessional. As another person mentioned in the 1 star reviews, if you don’t answer one question the way she wants you to, then forget about adopting here. My boyfriend and I have owned pets all of our lives, and provide nothing less than unconditional love and care, so to have this experience was extremely unpleasant. Horrible place!

I loved this place at begining, my cat is super duper cute. I had trouble with the neutering with they supposed to do at pet adoption. They handed me a paper of bring my cat back at 12/1, and i did so. But found out my cat was not at their netueing list... rescheuled me at 1/19. My cat had eye issue that day, i e-mailed immediatly that moring to cancel the appointment, then i received a phone call says that my cat is no longer at their service, i have to find my own vet for the neutering. I reached out a couple places, people turned me back to the orig rescue since this is their responsibiliy. Or, i need to spend $200~$300 for neutering at a vest. I sent mails again to the Rescue, but never received a response.... I will not recommend this place.

We got our fur baby from here and she has been imprinted on our hearts and constantly by our side ever since. The ladies at the rescue were very kind, but were very thorough in making sure we were an appropriate forever home. We had recently lost our first baby and knew our hearts needed another. The unconditional love we receive every day lets us know we were right!

This place is horrible. I have been inquiring about a dog they have for approx. 2 months. There is one older woman that works there and she is so rude. Trying to get any information out of them is impossible. My husband even drove down there to talk to them and they said he could only talk to the one person who handles the adoptions. Try getting a response from her, not an easy task. The staff is so unfriendly that it is concerning that they work at a place where strayed animals need love. They are not in the adoption business because I can't seem to get a response about the dog, Sandy. They only have 3 dogs on their website....

We had nothing but a great experience. There is indeed a special place in heaven for people who devote their lives to rescuing animals. We love our new puppy!

They seem to have no urgency in helping these poor animals find a home. The employees say they’ll call you and never do. When you call them you get nowhere- the person handling your paperwork isn’t there, they lost your application, refill it because they don’t like an answer. Etc. They basically admit to being so unorganized that they forgot about our application. If it weren’t for wanting to rescue a poor animal I’d never continue with this place. I wouldn’t recommend at all.

There is only one thing I can say that is good of this place. I received a great dog. Other than that they have had horrible customer service. They haven’t honored their contract with us. Using COVId as way to get out of their responsibilities and honor their proposed contracts. We had to pay extra to get our puppy shots, after they wouldn’t answer their phones, or respond to messages given. Then when we kept their appointments after the fact and when we caught COVId they then told us we had to go somewhere else and get our puppy chipped, and neutered. And pay out of pocket again. After we already paid for all these services. To top it all off, we tried to work something out to get the services needed for our dog, they then asked for us to show proof that we had COVId. So if you like to have a pet adoption center to charge you more money, not honor their contracts, ask to show proof of your medical history and most of all not care for your animals after care. Go here! Enjoy the disrespect, unprofessional people, and lack of consideration for your families animals care! Enjoy !

So, the representative (Naomi) reviewed my application and called (mind you she was screaming at a pet to shut up????) while conversing w/ me stating my application for a bunny rabbit was denied due to me putting on the application "50% inside and 50% outside!" Would it have been so difficult to inform me of how rabbits are to be taken care of, haven't had one since age 5! Welp, I'm happy I had gotten denied! Those animals are probably mentally abused and will attack me or my family! Whew...dodged a bullet???? (Management please review your process, educating possible applicants and most of all your own employees counseling sessions!

Very kind staff, rescue animals who need homes. Treat them, feed them, fix them, giving them love they need and attention to domesticate train them, getting them ready for adoption to a loving home.

Rude and unprofessional in communication. Never got a name so not sure who I was corresponding with. I inquired about adopting a puppy and did what they asked quickly when they requested info (such as photos of the exterior of our home. I went above and beyond to provide interior photos as well). I didn’t hear back. They also refused to answer questions when I asked. I had to reach out to find they had already placed the puppy I was inquiring about up for adoption. Which is fine, but they could’ve advised me much sooner and been more upfront. I was always cheerful in my communication and genuine, so I feel I deserved to be treated with the same respect as opposed to being treated as if I didn’t matter (the irony!). Super weird that they are a rescue place considering they don’t seem to like people.
