I wish I didn’t feel compelled to write this negative review because I genuinely liked the staff and overall work from this office. However, I have a 12-year-old Pomeranian who has not been able to get dental work done due to other medical issues. I had just moved to the area and Family Member Vet was the closest to my house, so I went to them. They are PRICEY! But they told us they were excellent with senior dogs, so I saved up to take my dog there. 3 weeks prior to the teeth cleaning, I paid $600 for just about every type of test to make sure my dog was able to be put under safely and get his wellness exam and shots. At no point did they say they expected any major work to be done during the cleaning and they quoted the cleaning at $600. At the drop off for his cleaning the quote was now $700 and I was required to sign a document which has a section where you must initial one of two options. One authorizes procedures to a certain dollar amount without consent from the owner, the other (which I initialed) states “Please do not do any additional medical procedures without my approval.” So, imagine my horror when I got the call that the $700.00 teeth cleaning ended up being $1,700, after they extracted 13 teeth without contacting me first to obtain my authorization as I thought was made clear from the box I initialed! They more than doubled my bill, pulled half of my dog’s remaining teeth and did not consider due to the excessive number of extractions that getting my consent might be warranted. On the phone, Dr. Glover informed me that underneath the section I initialed (which should allow you to dictate your pet’s care) there is a conflicting provision which nullifies the section you initialed which states that they have the right to extract as many teeth as they deem necessary, they will not contact the owner, you will be notified after and you must pay for the work! I would have never had them do the teeth cleaning if they told me how much work needed to be done and given me a realistic quote during the screening 3 weeks prior. I would have found a vet I could afford. In his 12 years, teeth have been removed by other vets and they all called me to get approval before extracting. I even called the 5 vets near their offices (as now I’m looking for a new vet) and every single one said they never do extractions without first obtaining consent from the owner. I was in such shock that all I could do was cry. I apparently was crying enough over the phone for them to give me a “multiple extraction” discount of $200, but my bill was still more than double what I expected and the payment plan they offered had 10.9% APR (are you joking?). When I went to pick up my dog I was still in shock, I just paid and took my dog. Two days later, when I finally felt I could talk to them without getting upset, I was told the person I was talking to wasn’t authorized to talk to me and she was hanging up and would notify the office manager. Instead of the office manager calling me back, she emailed me my dog’s records and told me “we feel it is best to part ways.” Very sad and very poor business practices.

We have taken our rescue poodle mix, Nico, to Dr. Glover for the entire 5 years we’ve had Nico. Dr. Glover and his staff have always been pleasant, efficient, and respectful. We’re very pleased with the relationship and plan to continue it for as long as we have Nico (and his successors, if any).

Doc and the family member staff show great compassion for our fur-babies. Bug and Chops run in to see everyone and they display a calmness in the exam room to the point the pups just fall asleep which I know is unusual. The staff listens carefully and I know the pups are going to feel better soon

I truly grateful for Dr. Glover and his team. I called 5 different vets in the area and everyone was booked. The reception was sweet and placed me on hold to make sure they could take us. We were able to confirm appointment. It was a smooth 10 minute drive, as soon as I got there I was in the room. Dr Glover was thorough, he made sure I knew exactly was he was doing to my pup. The bills was very reasonable in price with what they were doing. I'm switching my dogs over to this vet.

Dr. Glover is so caring and thorough. He was highly recommended by a friend who knew I was desperate for a second opinion about my dog's heart murmur and elevated liver enzymes. He spent a lot of time with me and my husband and talked about all possibilities of what could be going on. I just appreciate how quickly they got us in and understanding how worried we are. I also was pleasantly surprised that he charges less than my other vet.

We recently moved to MV and though finding a new veterinary was not at the top of my list. Our precious lit'l princess wasn't feeling so well. We decided to go with Family Member Veterinary based on their reviews. We are so happy to have found them. Everyone was so professional, welcoming and overall our visit to the vet went really well. Thank you.

We are new to the area and I met Dr. Glover at the paws dog park. I have had my Ruby in twice to see him and everybody was nice and professional. You can tell when someone really likes animals and they all do.

Dr Glover is a down to earth Veterinarian who is friendly and thorough. We've been taking Rex our goldendoodle here since we got him at 8 weeks old. Rex is excited when he gets here and Dr Glover does well handling his excitement and sharing some TLC.

Best vet I've ever been to. My cat broke her leg and the vet treated her perfectly and was extremely kind to her while wrapping her leg. Will only be using this vet from now on. My cat has been doing great and the wrap has hardly bothered her. Excellent work!!

Most irresponsible and inhumane veterinarian and office ever! 1) Dr. Glover missed all the signs of Cushing’s Disease in my dog. When I asked about dog’s weight gain and lethargy, he looked at me as if I was just another pet owner who fed an aging dog too many treats. It was a “substitute” doctor who noticed it immediately. 2) This is the clincher...this happened 10 years ago, but, it’s only now I can write about it. My dog. a puggle, was hit by a truck in front of me. In fact, the driver did not know his truck was still on top of my dog when I screamed! Amazingly, the dog was still alive. I scooped him up and drove to Dr.Glover’s only because it was close by and of our prior “business” together. It was closing time. I ran up to the door screaming my dog had been hit by a car! The vet assistant, blocked the entrance to the office with her body, held the door close to her, put her arm up and told me, unsympathetically, “The doctor is not in. You have to take him to the Emergency clinic.” I repeated he had been hit by a car, to no avail. Even if they couldn’t do “anything” for him, what kind of “animal care” professional would send a hysterical pet owner with a traumatically injured “family member” to a clinic 20 minutes away...in rush hour traffic??? In my state of mind, everyone, including myself was at risk on the streets. My dear dog expired in the car on my way to the clinic. I have never cried so hard at the inhumanity.
