We could not get in because of Covid, but everything was done on time and our cat looks good.

For more than forty years we have taken our animal family, both cats, and dogs to El Gato Veterinary Hospital! And, upon return after a five-year hiatus with no kitty in the home, we returned with our big fellow whom we adopted this past March! We were welcomed back by one of the technicians who we have known for years with her fond memories of other pets past, and our cat Mister was welcomed and quickly made to feel comfortable by all whom he met(well, you know as comfortable as you can while being examined). The only thing that could have been added was if there was someone serving tea and cookies to those of us in the parking lot (this is still in the time of Covid19 pandemic), awaiting our loved ones return! El Gato is wonderful! Wonderful doctors, technicians, and all!

Dr. Bibb and her staff at El Gato Veterinary are the best in the Valley. No matter what issues your pet is experiencing and no matter what the need, this is the place to take your pet. I was referred to El Gato by doctors and staff I work with at a local hospital. They all raved about the care their pets received and when I got a new pet, they all told me that they had been to other veterinary offices, but their best experiences had been with El Gato of which they had made their home hospital for their pet(s). They insisted that I take take my pet there too, which I did and have been very pleased. I have been taking my pet there for 12 years. I am glad to be able to write this review on behalf of El Gato!

POOR SERVICE, POOR COMMUNICATION, POOR MANNER... GO SOMEWHERE ELSE Initially I had a great experience the staff treated me well, but things took a turn. Heather a very rude and unprofessional staff member treated me and my husbands like crooks. Him and I took turns dropping off and picking up our dog from his dental surgery. At the beginning Heather explained charges and services to me. She failed to mention the one from bill from the previous lab work, which was going to be paid the day of the surgery. When my husband picked up our dog, Heather held on to my husbands Credit Card after we paid the dental surgery and didn't give it to back to him. She said that there was an unpaid balance. My husband said he needed to talk to me about the balance before paying for the services, keep in mind we have a very exhausted dog who just got our of surgery. He explained that he would go home talk to me and then we will handle the bill afterwards. She was resisting. Finally he gave the card back after my husband asked of it back. I stayed home with my kids and called the office to talk about post surgery concerns and treatments. Spoke with Heather and she mention the bill of the lab work. I told her there lots of back and forth, I wanted to talk and look at receipts to clarify that my husband didn't pay for it yet. She said ok. only 5 minutes after she called me back and said "Can I push the payment through because obviously your husband and you haven't talked". I was beginning to feel threaten at this point. I told her that I am a loyal person and will take responsibility for my own bills and my own actions. That I wanted to make sure he didn't pay for it yet and then we both be double paying. She quickly replied with " Yes you can call our office Monday morning and pay the balance." I don't understand the rush, seriously already paid the thousand plus dollars on our dog, paying the hundred was something I needed to make sure it was or wasn't on the invoices. (it's call double checking) After the weekend that Monday I paid the bill after thoroughly looking at all the invoices, charges and most importantly the post medical treatments. BTW we were also charged for a dental application ointment without any instructions or any suggested help. The Staff and Doctor were very helpful! Check in was very clear and understandable. They addressed all of our concerns with our dog. While there they were able to lay out all of my options and vaccine options. They also explained the why or why not to get certain vaccines. They were not pushy and seem to be the loving and care type of team. We are happy to be able to continue to take our dog to this vet for further treatments.

I brought my ~9 mo kitten in as a first time patient here, he wasn't keeping food down for over 24 hours and they got me in within hours of my call. I told the vet techs his symptoms, they asked thorough questions & were very kind and personable. They took him in & I waited ~20 min for the vet to return with a full list (with prices) of treatment options and her recommendation given that there was no clear signs of what's causing his sickness. I went with the vets recommendation of blood work (to rule things out), and a stomach-calming shot with bedrest and baby food. I was disappointed that I left with no clear indication of his sickness, but the vets recommended treatment worked a charm and he's as good as new!! She suggested its just a passing sickness, and called me the next day with the test results. Attentive, compassionate, and affordable treatment at this vet office. I will be returning! They even have an app to make scheduling appointments easier and track your pets ongoing health!! So cool!! Update: We booked an appointment same-day through the appointment portal, its incredibly simple & modern and much appreciated when compared to other vets (and their prices) in the area. Unfortunately I had to cancel last minute and they were incredibly understanding with no fuss! Looking forward to our next visit!

Dr Sarah & Kathryn were super amazing and I have been struggling to find a doctor who will just provide what makes the best treatment vs trying to upsell on things that dont even help the original cause.

Based on my initial experience, I have been very impressed by the El Gato hospital staff. They have been patiently answering our questions and helping us. For someone like myself with no experience having a dog/pet before, this is a huge comfort. I wish you had some sort of online chat service as well for some random or urgent questions that we might have. Otherwise everything been great so far.

We've been bringing our pets to El Gato since 1987, and have always valued their friendly, professional service. Dr, Bibb and staff have given each of our cats, rats and Vizsla the best of care, and helped us navigate option as illness and old age made their inevitable appearances. Their excitement over a new pet was only exceeded by their kindness and compassion as we had to move to palliative treatments. Office time was never rushed, and follow-up phone calls provided great guidance. A recent visit with our 4YO cat reminded me again why El Gato is still the best. Even with COVID restrictions, the friendly parking lot pickup of cat in carrier, car window cc payment, and a follow up (masked) conversation with Dr. Bibb left me feeling like something was still right in the world.

I'm a long time animal owner and have been to a lot of different vet clinics. On this visit, other than a dire diagnosis, I can't think of anything that could have been improved upon on our visit. This is my first time at El Gato and also my first time bringing a chicken in for treatment anywhere (I'm mostly a dog person). Dr. Sarah was very professional, clearly very knowledgeable, and extraordinarily patient with our difficulty coming to a decision on a course of action in the face of a diagnosis with a bad projected outcome (impacted gizzard). We opted for crop surgery and are still waiting to see if our little Ava recovers. Dr. Sarah followed up the next day to see how Ava was doing, and gave good advice to prevent a similar problem occurring in the rest of our little flock. I also especially appreciated the Covid safety precautions in effect at the clinic. I have never liked bringing critters into the waiting area of a veterinary office anyway, because you never know which critters are contagious, and which are possibly dangerous and insufficiently contained. The current system of seeing patients safely is very well thought out and workable.

The entire staff at El Gato is fantastic - kind, loving and so wonderful wth our pets - we LOVE them and wouldn't go anywhere else. They are so responsive and caring when we have emergencies and always follow-up with phone calls to see how our pets are doing! I highly recommend them!

We love El Gato! They are friendly, compassionate and know just how to handle your beloved pet. I've been taking my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to them since he was a small pup. He is never afraid. In fact when he sees that he's going there he can't wait to get out of the car and see all of the friendly faces. Cooper loves them and so do I.

El Gato Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Bibb have been very special to me for eight years. My mini schnauzer had many problems in her younger years. I feel most fortunate that El Gato was recommended. Dr. Bibb has always been attentive in treating her and also consulting with other vets and nutritionists. I am so grateful for the extra time and effort she puts in for her patients. The staff is very caring and supportive in taking care of my pet and others I am familiar with. During this difficult Covid time they are doing an exceptional job under difficult circumstances. I highly recommend El Gato.

After seeing positive reviews on this practice I am surprised and disappointed to have such a different experience. Took one dog in for a paw issue that resulted from stepping on a thorn and the procedure/healing did not go well. They had to go back in a clean it out a second time and had to do numerous check-ups post op. Other dog was taken in for chapped lips and the medicine they prescribed was completely ineffective. I took him to another vet where they gave us an ointment that worked like a charm. Aside from these two missteps by biggest concern with El Gato is they seem to always want to sell an abundance of screening and blood work. They do not seem to be at all discerning over what is necessary vs. superfluous nor are they good at consulting with their clients when questions arise. This leaves me with the feeling that are more concerned with revenue generation than providing sound medical advice. It's difficult to make good decisions on the health of a pet when you don't have that trust. Even when you have an appointment a 30 minute wait is to be expected, they always seem to be in scramble mode.

We just completed our "Puppy Package" at El Gato Veterinary Hospital. It was such a great value for us and our new puppy. Dr. Bibb provided extraordinary care, answering all our questions. Going above and beyond , coaching us on things we need to do with our new puppy now, so we don't have behavioral issues when he is full grown. I haven't had a dog in 20 yrs, so that was much appreciated! Catherine and John who work in the office show sincerely care and enthusiasm in all that they do, along with the other staff members. I am most appreciative to the large animal vet that referred me to this great clinic.

The staff at El Gato Vet were great. Started with getting us in on short notice late in the afternoon. When we arrived we called in and they came out right away. They were kind with our dog and took her in to get checked. Dr Sarah came out and was great with us. She explained everything that was going on with the dog and made it so we understood it. They took their time with our dog, made sure she pepped up a little before we took her home. They made sure we had everything we needed to make her comfortable until she was feeling better. They called two times the next day to see how our dog was doing. We need to go back next week for a quick procedure but I am happy with their service and reasonable pricing. A+ service! I was referred to them by several friends and I will be referring people I know to them as well. Thank you Dr Sarah and El Gatos Vet!!

Dr. Waller is absolutely the best vet!! The entire office is amazing. All the docs, techs and office staff are amazing. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. My dogs think so too!!!

I have been taking my Golden Retrievers to EL Gato Veterinary Hospital for many years. I am very impressed with the care they receive by Dr. Bibb. She is a wonderful Veterinarian. I never feel rushed when I am there. Her office staff is efficient and courteous. My Goldens are very relaxed when they are being cared for there. My Goldens had a minor surgery by Dr. Bibb recently and they are recovering well. I highly recommend DR. Bibb and her entire staff. They are superb !!! Catherine

We came all the way to Los Gatos from the area between Half Moon Bay and Pacifica after needing to find a thoughtful and caring veterinarian for our older dog and ourselves. His only sister from the same litter died unexpectantly and the former animal group were heartless. I called twice in two days for an appointment and cast aside. She died on day 3. In my grief, I called my cousin, who lives in San Jose, and she told me to make an appointment to have my other dog seen by Dr. Bibb! WHAT A WONDERFUL GIFT! She listened to our fears, let us know what might be found and then did her job! With her love, care and medical knowledge, he was examined from head to "toe" and other than needing dental work, he was fine. Not only is our dog very lucky, his care from Dr. Bibb and all her assistants has warmed all our hearts. WE WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE 45 MILES TO HAVE OUR ANIMALS TO BE SEEN BY THIS WONDERFUL GROUP!!!!

Yet another 5 star review for this place. Everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and patient. Their COVID protocols were also very well organized (you stay in your car and they come to you.) Ended up being a bit pricier than I expected, but considering the level of care (and the fact that my cat was apparently a little monster... I'm so sorry) I would 100% recommend this place to everyone.
