took my puppy Nike too be seen for his first check up with Dr.Barron she was so wonderful and kind with her sweet words about my baby she let me know that my puppy is healthy and recommended some vaccines that he should get in a few weeks because she didn’t want too overwhelmed him with everything all at once I thought that was very thoughtful and I will be returning for the influenza vaccine that she did recommend for my pup thank you!

Don't call asking if they accept walk-ins bc they charge you for "emergency visit" even if it's not. I took my dog in concerned and asking if they accepted walk-ins so they charged me an "emergency visit" on top of that they send my dog to do lab work. Bc of the holidays they didn't contact me right away, the paper aork shows his lab work was done one day later and they never called me back. I called almost mid January to figure out what happened, the guy on the phone had no idea what I wS asking for, he seemed new cus he kept putting me on hold to ask. Finally I spoke w the doctor and he started telling me my dog was fat and had to lose weight .... they charged me $500+ for lab work to tell me he needs to lose weight? I thought the emergency visit was bc he wasn't feeling well and that supposedly w the blood work they were gonna c what was wrong w him. They never told me anything about what was causing his discomfort other than just telling me he has to loose 4 to 5 lbs which had nothing to do with why I took him in the first place. To top it off I took him in with shivers and they couldn't even administer any meds to help him feel better. When I picked him I asked why was he still shivering and they said "oh you were charged for meds to help with that, you can begin treatment when you get home."!!!! Like, weren't you supposed to do that? Isn't that why you charged me $500+? ???? never going back here, if you care for your pet take him somewhere where they know what they are doing. Every time I do it's a diff vet, they always wanna shove flea and all sort of meds and their emails come in nonstop to sell you their products, it gets so annoying ????

I haven't been here yet, I'm looking for a place to take my dog & I always read reviews before I book somewhere. I actually decided to take a look because someone recommended this was a better place to take your pet but based of the recent reviews I don't thinks so.. I'm already worried about my dog & I don't need people to be rude or won't be able to answer questions without giving me attitude...

Poor service. But salesmanship is top notch. Brought my dog here to get checked out. She was sick and I just want3d her to be cured. They never fully explained what was wrong g with her, but they just wanted me to let her stay overnight with no staff and an IV. What they did do it try to get me to apply for their finance card to cover the over night stay and a operation which again they did not explain but did give me a price of $15,000 for the procedure. Th3y suggested putting my dog down if she didn't get the operation which was never explained what she had. Scared and not wanting my pup to suffer I put her down. Sad, I paid this place to kill me dog. 8 years ago. Just drove by on a delivery and still saw this place operating which made me sick.

Take my dog here for all her shots, heartworm medicine, etc. Staff is very friendly. You park in the back and they will come to you, help you fill out any paperwork, and take care of your pet.

Their service and communication have gone way down. I am specifically talking about front desk staff. To the point that I go to a different vet now.

They didn't even let us go into the hospital to take a look at what was wrong with our dog, we were told over the intercom how much we were going to pay for several services and the amount just to walk in for a visit. It would have made more sense to look at our dog first to find out what was wrong with him before giving us a list of prices. The person that helped us was rude and it was like talking to a robot, she told us to wait until 8 o'clock and it was barely 7:59. Very disappointed, we left and went to the Beverly/ Virgil hospital, they look at our dog within the first 10 minutes of arriving, they told us what was wrong with him and how much was the procedure, very friendly employees and doctors, I would highly recommend this hospital instead of the one on Washington.

I booked an appointment and went here at 7 30 in the morning to drop off my dog to be spayed. When you ring the door bell they ask you to call when you call no one picks up or you just get out on hold. I repeated my appointment details twice and then went on hold again. How do I trust my dog with someone who has no clue what they’re doing

My name is Carlo Moraga I've never received such a horrible evil customer service. I was there for an appointment I rang the door bell more than 3 times 2 times 2 females employees opened the door I told them I had an appointment they were very rude the very last time I rang the door bell again after waiting more than 10 minutes I could tell they were laughing because they were making me wait but this is not about me is about my little sick dog. If you can I recommend you take your pets were people have heard and they are Professional.

I was coming here for years. I have had more than one experience where the staff is extremely rude, unprofessional, and they act like they are the only vet in the entire city. The final straw was when I called to make an appointment because my dog was vomiting and not himself. I called and inquired about an appointment. I asked specific questions that were not answered so I repeated myself because she had an issue with comprehension. As the case in the past, here comes the attitude. If you can’t answer the questions, maybe she needs to find another job. But they did me a HUGE favor! I found the BEST vet and if this vet’s staff wasn’t so bad I wouldn’t have found Greens Dog Dental and Wellness Center in Santa Monica. I loved them so much I took all three of my dogs there. One even had oral surgery on Friday. Please do not go here. And just because the vet is in santa monica doesn’t mean they are more expensive because thats not the case! Don’t put yourself in a position to be disrespected. They don’t deserve the business.

The staff at Washington Dog & Cat hospital are hands down the best to trust in taking care of our 3 dogs and 2 cats. Been going here for 10 years, and our recent visit for our cat hospital stay just made be so grateful for the TLC they offered in caring for our cat and in working with us in navigating his procedure and process. Appreciate the constant communication, their support of our cat, and helping us develop a plan and solution that worked for all of us. Thanks so much to Dr.Barron and crew for your care and dedication!!

Great service! I waited in line at 8.30 and they opened up at 9 but I still made it get an appointment. I even left and called me when the room was ready for my dog! The vet was amazing and explained the situation very simple.

We used to love this place but something has changed. I’m always put on hold and never an appointment when you need one.

I have been satisfied with their care and service of my new puppy since getting him this year. He has recieved his fully puppy vaccine and care package here, treatement for mild ear infection, flea meds and recently, neutering. Dr. Barron has been very warm and attentive and I can tell they are highly skilled and knowledgeable. Front desk always is very kind and patient for any needs, questions. They are never pushy, but always inform me of what they find and reccomend. My pup is thriving and doing very well post-op in recovery.

Coming here for years. Fair pricing. From my experience they really care about my pet’s health and communicated well with me and were not pushy in terms of treatment options. They lay it out for you and you decide.

My dog had spay surgery 7/19. Never received a call to notify me of anything. It was getting late 5ish, i called and showed up. Finally doctor (i believe he’s a new doctor at this facility) comes to the phone and tells me my dog is okay her temp dropped during surgery and it was still low. I transferred her to an emergency hospital. The tech walked her(couldn't walk well was out of it) out just handed her over. Next day i get a called from dr. Barron at 4ish pm. Telling me my dog’s pt and ptt results were very high and not sure if there was any internal bleeding going on. I had to rush her again to the emergency hospital. I was also subscribe a liver supplement/med. Never explained why. I asked for my dogs records and i came to see that it is stated that her ALT levels are a bit high. They never told me anything. Not even sure if surgery was appropriate with high ALT. The emergency hospital had to prescribe me the meds because washington dog and cat hospital never did. I wont be taking my pets there anymore. Things seem to be declining there.

Although I'd have liked to go inside with my pet, I was happy with the Doctor's thoroughly explanation of my cat's over all exam results/concerns. She suggested blood work and I was pleasantly surprised that I got the results within my visit, unlike other vet clinics, I'd had to wait 1-2 days for the results. She also provided an estimate for a future needed thyroid/dental extraction procedure.

Extremely poor communication, both internally and with me. Critical information relayed to them was not documented or recalled, and they attempted to send my pet home on a prescription regimen that she had ALREADY BEEN ON FOR A WEEK, unsuccessfully. They tried to tell me that antibiotics were being prescribed for renal failure. Fun fact: that's not how antibiotics work. I am extremely disappointed in the knowledge, bedside manner, and overall treatment I received here. It is shameful to attempt to upsell people when their pets are critically ill. This drive for profit is sickening. BEWARE!!!

We took our pup Charlee here for an appointment at 9:30am on a Sunday. This appointment was scheduled months ago and our dog is known, or so we thought to this clinic. In the past, our girl has been anxious about vets so we communicated this anxiety to the office and knew we’d need to sedate our dog for a thorough examination. We maneuvered into the small parking lot and waited for our dog to be brought in after checking in. At 9:50am, we explained the treatments needed for the day and our dog was taken to the hospital, muzzled for the examination. We were told a doctor would be in touch in 1.5 hours. Around 1:30pm, we called Washington to inquire about our dog and were told the doctor would be in contact soon. We called again around 2:00pm, put on a 10 minute hold, and finally spoke to a doctor (Dr. Joanna Choi) who explained the services needed, including a blood test to clear her for sedation/reversal, our requested allergy treatment, and an ear cleaning. We proceeded with services and were told the hospital closed at 4pm and our dog would be done around 3:30pm (our appointment was at 9:30am). We called again to check on our dog around 3:45 and spoke with Dr. Joanna Choi, who again confirmed things were going great with no complications. They said our dog would be done by 4:30pm. We arrive at 4:30pm as the hospital calls us, stating they were not able to completely sedate our dog due to a miscalculation, and our dog is now too anxious to complete treatment as intended today. Nothing was done. Not only did our dog spend 9+ hours boarded up, with a muzzle, and without access to water, but she also walked away still bothered by allergies and now, is sitting in my home STILL sedated. This screams negligence as my dog has been sedated, unable to walk for hours simply because the doctors office was too busy to administer her sedation 1-2 hours after her original appointment and instead was focused on a number of other obligations. The kicker is they authorized a charge for $300+ for the blood work they recommended to complete the treatments they couldn’t do and for an office visit that obviously wasn’t thorough enough to administer the right amount of anesthesia. I’ll never send my dog here again. This is a distrustful and busy hospital clinic that pushes quantity over quality and is concerned only about the bottom line. They jeopardized my dogs life because of their own double booked calendars.

I take all my pets here. They had my last pup for all 13 years of her life. Easy to schedule and vet is very polite and informative. The parking is just HORRIBLE and getting in and out amid COVID has been a bit of a pain since we all have to park and wait outside. Not anyone's fault, just an annoyance.
