Dishonest people who take people's money without examining the pet. They charged us for our cat's exam but didn't examine our cat because they claimed the cat was hissing at them!

Visited this facility on November 4th for an urgent care visit. The initial visit was at a low cost but services needed to “see if” my dog was okay were completely overpriced and unnecessary. I ended up going home and treating my dog myself. That being said I do understand animal care can be expensive, but in my case I feel my dog was not properly assessed. Overall the visit was good, but it didn’t workout too well for me. The staff was very friendly and the visit was relatively quick. It’s a corner building and there is plenty of street parking.

My dog was having an allergic reaction with hives and swelling and no one would see us so we stopped by here. They weren’t taking walk ins, but the vet saw us anyway and made time for our dog. Jose was very caring and informative. Thank you for your help!

I have been a client here for over 17 years. And have witness the decline in care and customer service attitude primarily from the office manager, which has spread like a cancer to the staff. They are aggressive, combative and give attitude please be warned. They are rude over the phone and will hang up on anyone for whatever reason the wish. Up until recently when my dog was severly sick I realized they do not offer recommendations our dog during their shots or treatments. They never told me I needed to pay for an office visit for this to happen but made subtle hints, that I had to pay again. Once my dog got sick they've been trying to treat her but have failed to follow-up with her treatments, by not informing. Us that we would need nother appointment. They refused to schedule my dog for an office visits ,durring her critical condition., for no reason other than. She claimed my caregiver threatened her. The office manager threatened my caregiver and threatened to call the cops on myself when I had politely explained how my dogs results had not been given to me over the phone as they said they would do with in 48 hours. They stated I was no longer welcomed at the clinic, only after confirming that my office bill was paid in full. If I would do anything differently, I'd go anywhere else!

I had been coming here for the last 15 years and when I got a new cat tried to take her here (with an appointment) they said they checked me in at 9am and then after waiting for an hour they then told me they hadn’t saved my appointment and I wasn’t in their system…. The woman was very condescending and incredibly rude. People in any health care system but especially for pets should not conduct themselves that way and I will not be giving them my business ever again.

Disappointed in the treatment received. I knew my cat needed to be seen (weight loss, lack of appetite etc) so I called for an appt. I waited nearly 2 weeks. I was told I could keep calling everyday after 2pm to check for cancellations. Every time I would call there were never any cancellations, so I waited. I waited past my appt time in the heat, but it was worth it for my boy. As I was waiting for the dr to come outside and speak to me, I overheard an individual thanking the tech for seeing his dog without an appointment. Another lady also told me she showed up without an appointment and was accommodated. That doesn’t seem very fair as I waited over two weeks for my cat to be seen. I know I could have taken him elsewhere but it’s very hard with my schedule and most places were first come first serve and I couldn’t wait all day. Additionally, this location was convenient as it’s located in my neighborhood. The vet ordered blood work and eye drops. I paid for the visit, rx, and labs and was told I would receive results around 10 am the next day. I never received a call. So, I ended up calling in the afternoon and was told the dr would call me before closing. Never received a call. I called the next day and was told he was with a patient and would call back. I finally received the call the next day. The vet said he was 95% sure my cat has FIV and said to be 100% sure I would need to do more lab work. The lady I spoke to said it would cost $350 to confirm. I asked what the treatment was and they told me to bring him in for an antibiotic injection and additional medication. I followed the vet’s direction and I took him on Monday morning. My cat’s health ended up declining after both visits. He ended up dying two days later. Im so confused because the vet said none of his organs were failing. Why did my kitty die two days after the covenia shot? I spent hundreds of dollars for my boy to end up dead. To make matters worse I end up calling to speak to the vet and he’s unavailable. I asked the receptionist for info about the cremation services and she seemed to lack empathy as she was bothered when I started crying. After thanking her for the info she just said OK and slammed the phone so loud. Just an overall unfortunate situation. Wish my baby was still here with me.

I called this clinic after getting a high estimate from from another vet to have my dogs teeth cleaned and 3 extractions. This vet quoted me no more than 1,000 for everything. When I arrived they wanted me to sign for 1251 WITHOUT exam or x-ray. I refused. The tech said she would have the vet do a quick exam for a final price. They raised the price from 1000, to 1251 to 2,000. They are crooks. Do go there. They use the bait and switch on you.

Called for some information on vaccines, that receptionist that answered the phone was rude, obnoxious. Spoke like I was haggling her for low prices. Just wanted info because my current vet has been closed because of covid. Cost is the least of my worries. No thanks on this location.

I just called to inquire about an appointment and the woman said ok and hung up when I said I needed something sooner. If they don’t even have basic manners on the phone, how do they treat our pets. Incredible.

I’ve been going here for years! And sadly new there’s new staff. But I called to change my pets name since they misspelled it and to email me vaccination records. Couple days go by and no email. I waited a bit more but I got an email with the name still incorrect. I called to correct it but got attitude from the staff. I told her it was still incorrect and I haven’t received an email with the vaccines. She kept cutting me off when I tried to explain how the pets name and the owner name is misspelled and had me spell it out. And spell out my email. After that I told her thank you and she hung up real loud and rude! I’m sadly disappointed that’s how they treat their clients for 7 years+

Amazing staff starting with the receptionist to Dr. Barrera himself. They were so helpful. Service was quick and painless ???? literally, for our Dog that is. Thank you so much everyone, I believe we found our preferred Vet!!!!

What a waste of time. I understand there is a worldwide pandemic right now and appointments take longer than usual but at least be transparent about the wait time. Made an appointment at 3:30 pm waited in the car for one hour checked in twice via the phone with the receptionist. The receptionist said it'll take 10 minutes at around 4:09 pm. Checked in again on the phone at 4:30 pm still nothing. Ultimately we took our lovely new pup and left. We're down to wait but you need to be realistic about the time and not lying about it. 10/10 would not recommend to anyone even to my enemies. Actually on a second thought I would totally recommend this place to my enemies. If Stephen Miller is like hey you know a good vet? I would be like yes go to Affordable Animal Hospital in Silver Lake. Have a good time Stephen!

Receptionist Stephanie was rude when I asked, why my dog needed all of this treatment. She came to me with a list of recommendations from the doctor that totalled $290.00. Stephanie didnt have the decency to tell me what was wrong with my dog. They didnt ask for any background information or history on my dog. They didnt ask if my dog was being medicated. They didnt ask if he was currently being treated elsewhere. They were happily going to over medicate my dog, had I not asked questions. This place is not trustworthy. This place takes advantage of people, desperate to help their pets. A woman waiting to be seen has been there three times this month. She has spent over $450.00 yet her dog has made no significant improvement. The dog's paws were bloodied, his ears were infected, he was under weight, this after a month of treatment? I can't come to this location again. Altough, the doctor was very kind, I do not have confidence in the treatment plan she came up with for my pet.

I gave 1 star only because I couldn't leave no stars. The front desk is very unprofessional.They shoo u out like a 2yr old child and tell u to call them from your car which we did and they never answered our calls or responded to us. Front desk needs training of some sort. .
