I took my love Lucy today to see Dr. Mendez for really bad allergies and scratching. After being treated like s**t at her regular vet office, we were treated great. They were so nice and really listened to me. Turns out Lucy had an ear infection so we were given antibiotics. She was also given an injection for her itching, we've been home only a few hours, but she has not scratched once! And it did not cost me an arm and a leg!! I highly highly recommend ACH! Thank you Dr. Mendez and the whole staff. I could not ask for a nicer place. ????????????

I read all the reviews and was hopeful that I would be treated with the same service as all those great reviews... Well I was turned away and not seen I took my sick dog in and they turned me away and said they are not taking in new customers. I guess they dont care as much as everyone who has reviewed them and posts about how great they are. If you are looking for a vet then dont bother you will be turned away.

This place has done nothing but show our family care, respect and love. Never have I ever had such pleasant experiences with a vet's office. The genuine care and compassion they show towards our furry family members, is unlike any other. The staff here has also been nothing but respectful and realistic when it comes to the diagnosis and treatment of our 4 legged companions. If you are looking for the best care in the area for your fuzzy ones, this is the place.

My friend and I both applied for jobs here. She has a degree in veterinary science but hasn’t worked before, when I’ve worked but don’t have a degree. They called my friend and said that the position had been filled, and then continued to call me week after week, telling me to call them back. When I did, even asking for a specific time to call back, they would constantly be in an “emergency” that they couldn’t step away from. It wasn’t once or twice — this happened at least five or six times. I told them to close my application, telling them I found another job, and boom, a week later, I get another message telling me to call them back. I do, they’re in an “emergency.” I call back the next day, finally having had enough, and I tell them that the whole experience has been incredibly unprofessional, stating that they have no reason to be calling me if the position is full and I asked to close my application. The woman on the phone cuts me off stating we’ve never spoken before, when we had literally spoken TWICE the day before, with her even asking if it was me by name the previous day. I’ve told them to stop contacting me again and I still never got to speak to the doctor who called me because she’s STILL apparently in an emergency that she can’t step away from. I asked them to have her call me back the day before and she just never did. They say they’re short staffed, but if you know at all what’s good for you, don’t bother. They don’t communicate with one another and their professionalism is so bad it’s laughable. Never - EVER - apply to work here. You WILL end up regretting it.

First rate veterinarians, vet techs, and staff all strive to make you and your pet healthy and happy. They take care to minimize the impact on your wallet and always take the time to explain the health situation of your pet and provide options so you can make an informed decision. They go out of their way to make you and your pet feel welcome and comfortable. They mostly handle dogs and cats, so call first if you have something else. They'll be honest about what they can and can't do and will suggest other places if they aren't in a position to help your pet.

I brought my friend for his cat she needed flea treatment. The Vet was very responsive to the cats needs explaining the different flea treatments. I’m glad we came!

Care was good but shockingly overpriced RX. Price gouging local pet lovers for sure! Shop for prescriptions elsewhere and easily saved 350%

I have been taking my dog there for the last 10 years and I couldn't imagine taking her anywhere else. All the staff is extremely professional and friendly. I have no doubt that this is the best care I can find for my dog.

We were having a hard time finding a good Vet in our area. I finally asked my friend who had a Dachshund which I knew was very picky on who she would take her dog to. She highly recommended Dr Mendez and the Animal Care Hospital staff. We were very happy when we took our Labrador to see Dr Mendez. Dr Mendez is a very smart and caring Vet and her staff is equally as kind. Dr Mendez worked with us on all the areas of problems our dog had. She went the extra mile to study our dogs case talk with other experts when our dog was diagnosed with Cushings disease. Every issue our dog had was treated with a caring, correct course of action. When our dog was old and in pain Dr Mendez talked with us in a caring, detailed manner letting us make the decision to let her go. Dr Mendez and her excellent staff were so very kind and thoughtful with us as and shared our pain in euthanizing our beloved dog. I would recommend Dr Mendez and her great staff to anyone who wanted the top Veterinarian on the Central Coast of California.

Finally writing a review over 2 months after having to put our beloved boy down but really I should've made this same review a decade ago. We have several great vets in Lompoc but our family will never use another one as long as Animal Care Hospital is still around. Every single member of the staff that we've dealt with has been friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate and truly seemed to care about our beagle and our family. Over his 17 years of life Taz beat several injuries and illnesses as well as 2 separate fights with cancer thanks to the phenomenal care he received at ACH. Even though he ultimately lost his 3rd and final battle after we discovered it for the first time when he had lost nearly 80% of his liver he was able to live happily for another 6 months from what our family believes was perfect advice from Dr. Mendez. The prices at ACH are extremely affordable, and still we never once felt pressured by any of the staff to go through with anything that we might be financially uncomfortable doing. When we began treatment for Taz's final battle Dr. Mendez was kind enough to give us his first prescription for free as it had been donated from another family, and it makes my family and I feel good knowing his final box of pills is likely helping another family in need. Took our cat here last year because we were moving out of state and he needed his shots updated. We did wait in the car, but they were so quick and accommodating. Also very professional on the phone and highly recommend them for your animals ????????

Loved this place!!! They are super expencive buuuuuuut worth it!!! They took care of my puppy he jumped off the bed in the hotel since i was over in lompoc visiting family and he fractured his foot and lompoc would not take me but they did!!! They took good care of my pup MAX and with all the care and compassion of the world put him in a cast. Hes doing alot better now thanks to the awsome doctors and nurses here i really appriciate everything they did for us.
