I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone with a fur baby. This team is amazing! Sadly, on the 18th of last month, I had to say goodbye to my beautiful German …

The reviews saying they are after your money are wrong! I took my 13 year old, 5 pound dog here last night. We only had to wait about 20 minutes, and they only ran the tests that were necessary and called me to get my approval before everything they tried. I was quoted over $3000 at a different vet, and only ended up paying a little over $500 here. The staff was very friendly and seemed to care a lot about their patient. My dog is doing much better today thanks to them! I will definitely be bringing my dogs here for any future emergencies.

I was referred by another emergency veterinary hospital that had a 6-8 hour wait. I drove from Oakland to have my dog seen here and I cannot stress enough how great the experience was! The staff were all super friendly, understanding, and get major bonus points for loving all over my sick pup. The Doctor and Vet techs (nurses?) on duty took time to get a clear explanation of my concerns about my pet, took time to explain everything they were going to do, and gave me time to read the discharge instructions and ask questions before they returned my pup to me. To be fair, emergency care isn’t cheap, but I felt the prices were honest. If my pup ever needs urgent care again, I will absolutely go out of my way to go back to this practice. (Of note, I work in human healthcare and I imagine I can be a bit exasperating for vet staff when seeking care for my dog, so I hope that gives a little more weight to my review ????.) Our cat was hit by a car and had severe trauma to her body. We rushed her to Pacific as we have heard great reviews from people we know personally. Our cat is currently under their care and although we aren’t sure if she’ll pull through yet, our experience with them has been phenomenal. Every single staff member has been empathetic and so understanding of what we are going through. They have been kind and loving through the entire process. This is so much more important to us than cost. The staff seems very knowledgeable and the doctor took time to thoroughly explain what our options are and how things would play out moving forward. We feel 100% that are cat is in good hands and being well taken care of.

I had to take my puppy here for an emergency and I will refer them to anyone! And they rushed my pup back before ever asking for any money. The price is also beyond reasonable too!! When I took my puppy to the place in Antioch off sunset they wanted my debit card info before the would even check her out. Long story short they turned me away because I didn't have the $800 dollars up-front!! I'm sorry but that place is just about $$$ i don't understand how someone who does that for a career can turn their back on any aanimal because the owner can't afford the bill. Now the staff here is also so nice! the nurse and the dr.went up and beyond anything I ever expected! That goes along way in a situation like this. THANK YOU AGAIN TO ALL WHO WORK HERE

Had an appt to take my baby Jager there this morning to see the internist. After over a month of him not feeling and looking well at all, and having seizures out of the blue, and abnormal blood tests, the regular vet recommended a specialist. I had already spent a couple thousand dollars to try and help my only four year old boy, who appeared to be dying right in front of me. He slept 22 hours out of the day, could barley open his eyes , and just didn’t look well at all. Today, the day of my appt, it old them he looked like he was starting to feel better but I still wanted to make sure he was ok ..so do what they felt they had to. The dr came out after examining him, and said he started with taking a blood test to see where his levels where . They were almost totally back to normal. He said he could run a bunch more tests and spend more money, but he’d much rather give it a few weeks because he thinks he’s on the mend . ❤️ The price was VERY FAIR . it’s obvious he cared, and could tell My baby and i have already been through soo much already . Being, I work at a non profit animal shelter, and don’t make much money at all, this made my day .. and I’m so happy to find out my baby is doing better:)

The staff at Pac Vet is amazing. We fully believe that the staff here is the only reason our sweet Lab is still alive. Our 5 year old Lab, Jake has an intestinal blockage surgery at our primary care vet(Not Lafayette Vet or Pac Vet) We brought him home and he was only home for a few hours before we noticed he wasn't doing well again. We took him back to our primary care vet and they did some tests that determined that his intestine surgery had separated and he needed another emergency surgery. Because the surgery site was leaking internally he was getting septic. They said his best chance for survival was to take him to a board certified vet surgeon and they recommended Pac Vet. They also said his chances of survival were about 50/50. We loaded him up and rushed him to Pac Vet. Dr. Nohava took him in and confirmed that he wasn't doing well. Dr. Luckring was called in and performed his surgery late at night. After surgery they confirmed that his intestine hadn't healed well and had in fact split open. Jake wasn't even close to out of the woods. He had to recover from surgery, fight off the infection the leaking surgery site had created and we had to cross our fingers that the intestine stayed intact and healed after the second surgery. He needed to eat to take in protein which would help him heal and getting such a sick dog to heal isn't easy. Dr. Nohava stayed by Jake's crate the entire night after his surgery monitoring him. Throughout Jake's stay they gave us constant updates. When he first stood up which was a huge milestone his Dr. during the day shift called me and as soon as I answered she immediately yelled into the phone "Jake is up walking on his own" I could tell by the sheer excitement in her voice we had reached an important milestone and that she wasn't just his Dr, but she truly cared about Jake and his recovery. The staff left Jake 's crate open for the beginning of his stay because he needed constant care, they let him roam and be near him once he was improving, they sent me photos of him and his progress and even let me visit him in the parking lot in the middle of Covid. They treated Jake's issues aggressively and pulled out all stops to get him home to us. I know in my heart that the love and medical care the gave Jake is the reason he's still with us. We couldn't have asked for a better team to have cared for Jake. I cannot thank Dr. Luckring, Dr. Nohava, Dr. Sia and their team of nurses enough. This emergency staff is seriously the dream team! See Jake below, happy, healthy and in his natural habitat after the team at Pac Vet saved his life!

Some stupid broad charged me a thousand bucks to misdiagnose my puppy, she claimed she had eaten something. now my other puppy is sick too! With the same symptoms! All she did was guess and charge me a grand! These people are incompetent and I'd never take another dog there as long as I live.

Surprised to see anything but 5 stars here. Dr. Nohava was able to provide the highest level of care for my dog while communicating very clearly what was wrong and the course of treatment. My mom, who has been a practicing vet for the last 30 years, now teaching at university of Pennsylvania for veterinary medicine was impressed by Nohava and the treatment she recommended saying "she is a good vet and doing exactly what she should" Prices were beyond reasonable considering the hour and urgency. Could not say better thinks about this clinic

If you’re okay with paying for unnecessary procedures and tests, then look no further! This place likes to tack on to your bill with tests for symptoms your pet does NOT show. Even when you assure them that it is not necessary, they may tell you it’s their ‘protocol’. Apparently their protocol is blow your money and waste your time.

Had a horrible experience here. Was referred for my dear pet Milo to see an orthopedic surgeon. We had an appointment and he called me to say Milo needed an Ultrasound. I paid $166 and scheduled the ultrasound. That went pretty well and was expensive but reasonable. I was referred to the Holistic Vet for physical therapy. Then a couple of days later he began bleeding from his right nostril. I took him back and then began and endless series of tests and X-rays and ultrasound (of his belly which made NO sense. They wouldn’t proceed without money up front and a commitment for VERY expensive treatment and tests. 14 hours later he wa discharge with no diagnosis, weak, tired and still oozing from his nose. I was told to bring him back the next day for a visit to Internal medicine. The next morning he was worse and hemorrhaging from his left nostril. I refused to take him back to Pacific Vet as I had no confidence they would make him better. Over $3000 and no diagnosis. He worsened and I had to put him to sleep. This place is great at overpricing, over testing. Thousands of dollars and nothing. My best friend, comparison, and emotional support was gone. Horrible place hat seems just interested in more and more money. Have talked with a couple of their people who had similar experiences. Avoid this place. Go elsewhere. I think it is a sham.

It's taken me a couple of months to be able to write this review because of the pain it evokes but these guys deserve recognition. I can't recommend this vet highly enough, especially for emergency services. We had to bring our Rottweiler in on Christmas night and despite the devastation of losing him, we will never forget the incredible kindness of Dr. Sia and her team. They were better with us (we were obviously an absolute mess which can't be easy for them) and to him than our primary vet of the last 6 years who we were seeing every week for the last 3 years. There is nothing worse than losing your baby but kindness and empathy go a very very long way. We are so grateful to them. Yes, Covid means that there is waiting and probably lighter staff (at every facility, not just this one) but I feel like it's no worse time wise than it used to be in the old days and I'd rather sit in my car away from the chaos than with the other 10 people and their pets in the waiting room. I also believe their prices to be very reasonable for an emergency/specialty hospital, we've visited many and they were not higher here.

My corgis got in a tiff over dinner and one had a bad cut on her foot and punctured eyelid. Pacific Veterinary Emergency saw to us quickly, and cautiously (covid). Dr. Burns even identified a cyst we were told by our local vet was just a fat buildup. Prices were very fair and staff was great.

Victoria, Dr. Ross and everyone else at PacVet were absolute angels to both me and my fur baby. My kitty had to go in for an emergency ultrasound on a Friday night and they were the sweetest, most understanding vets I have experienced. They did not make me feel bad for calling to ask questions or to ask to clarify anything that I might not have understood. I highly recommend them for emergency veterinary needs

Awful communication. Both times I’ve gone here, there’s been no outreach from them to let me know the status of my pet, and they’ve had me wait hours with no phone call or instructions to go home. The latest time, I waited an hour just for them to tell me that they couldn’t take in my severely febrile dog.

I really can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Sia and the team at Pacific Veterinary. Sadly, we had to make that trip to the vet that every dog owner dreads. Our 12 year old labrador, Bowser, had collapsed out of nowhere, and we could tell that something was very wrong. We rushed him to Pacific Vet and called them from the parking lot. As soon as they saw Bowser, they rushed out a gurney brought him in. They knew it was a serious situation so they gave him priority treatment. We had to wait in the car due to COVID, but they did an excellent job of keeping us posted on their progress as they desperately worked to save Bowser. He had internal bleeding and kept going in and out of consciousness. At one point while he was alert, they made a point to wheel him out to see us since he'd been rushed in so suddenly when we arrived. He perked up when he saw us, wagged his tail, and we were able to get a few pets in to tell him we loved him. Bowser's condition deteriorated quickly, but the veterinary team at Pacific was beyond compassionate and kept us posted every step of the way while clearly noting everything that was going on and helping us weigh all of our available options. They ended up attempting a surgery to find the cause of his internal bleeding, but he passed away shortly after starting the procedure. They'd later find that the internal bleeding had likely been due to a blood clot that had caused a tear in a location that would have been impossible to treat anyway. Fortunately for Bowser, he went quickly and painlessly. We were beyond devastated. Losing a dog is one of the most terrible experiences a family can ever experience together, and we were all a complete mess when we heard the news. I would never wish this experience on anyone, and of course I wish that we had never gone through it in the first place, but the team at Pacific Vet did an amazing job comforting and supporting us through the whole ordeal. I have zero doubt that Bowser was in the absolute best possible hands during his final moments. The team at Pacific Vet deserves a ton of credit for the work that they do, and we will be forever grateful for the compassion and support they provided when we needed it most.
