Best vet around, other places around just don't compare

Our dog Coco was suffering from an ear infection and I was dreading scheduling an appointment with our normal veterinarian office, I was looking for somewhere closer to home. I called Mt. Diablo first thing Monday morning and they had nothing available until Tuesday which worked out beautifully. Very friendly on the phone, offered a drop off appointment as a last minute option, took care of Coco, the doctor called with a detailed report of her exam, diagnosis, and treatment plan which I appreciated. I was pleased with the treatment and the cost was what I was expecting, reasonable, given exam, labs and 2 medications. We have decided to make this our choice for a new veterinarian. Thank you Mt Diablo Veterinary Medical Center for taking care of Coco on such a short notice and being flexible.

Our 18 month old chihuahua/Jack Russell turns into Cujo when the vet tech comes out to get him. They are very patient with Jack and are able to treat him without any drama. Very kind and professional.

Mt. Diablo Vet has been where I have taken my cats for decades. They are wonderful and take good care of our animals. I moved recently and still continue to travel a bit to get the best care for my cat.

Office staff respond quickly and are kind and sensitive and attentive. Our Vet is clear and looks at alternative care options for my dog. She listens to my concerns and offered suggestions. She is professional and explained matters clearly. I appreciate everyone's help in caring for my dog. I would prefer a Vet Hospital that has 24 hour care post surgery. It is troubling to have to move my dog to another hospital myself after surgery for observation post surgery. Dr.Hagler is a kind and sensitive Vet. Sorry he has retired and I wish him the best.

The staff at Mt. Diablo Veterinary Medical Center are super responsive and caring. Our dog gets excited when we pull up even when he is not well.

I took my cat, Gulliver, in for a wellness exam and because I had some concerns about his appetite and an odor that seemed to be coming from his fur. Unlike with other vets where a technician does the initial check up and you only spend a brief amount of time with the vet, at Mt. Diablo, you meet with the vet right away. Our ver was very attentive, taking a full page of notes as we reviewed Gulliver's medical history and I went over my concerns. I never felt rushed, and really appreciated them taking the time to fully discuss everything with me. After the consultation, they took Gulliver into the back room to examine him and give him a complimentary nail trim. After 15-20 minutes, the vet came out to tell me the smell was likely from an ear infection. She thoroughly cleaned it out and examined it under a microscope to determine what type of bacteria it was. Then she prescribed some antibiotics to administer at home. While no cat likes the vet, or at least mine certainly doesn't, he was like a new cat once we got home. He'd been lethargic before, which we now know was from the infection, and by that night he was back to his frisky, playful self. For the exam, vaccinations, and medicines we received, I found their price to be very reasonable. I Ahighly recommend Mt. Diablo Veterinary Medical Center.

They were great. Although my cat wasn't yet a patient there, my cat was very sick and they fit her in between appointments and took great care of her. They were very thorough and helpful and my cat is doing much better now. Convenient location, easy parking. Covid safe. Great vet. We are now ongoing patients.

Dr. Tam handled a scary situation with my dog very well and my dog is doing fine. I highly recommend this vet clinic.

I love this office and the care that is given to my girls. I feel like I am visiting a part of family when I enter the office. Debi and Natasha are the sweetest and very welcoming, no matter the circumstance of my visit. Dr. Phan and Dr. Hagar are the best doctors with the best bed side manner and knowledge of both my dog and cat. I cannot rave enough about this office and I have been coming here for 10 years!! I don’t live close to this office- but I do travel to see them because they are the best!! I wish I could give 100 stars!!

I am very pleased with the care given to my lovely dog Teamo. About the cost for the visit... Kinda expensive for my budget $700.41 for a check up , blood work and vaccinations.

Dr. Tam and the entire Mt Diablo Veterinary team is always incredibly responsive to questions when I have them. They treat my dog as an individual patient rather than a number. I've been very happy with the care my dog has gotten here, particularly after she began suffering from DCM and beginning a complicated pharmaceutical regimen. I'll be taking all my dogs here as long as I continue living in the area!

So caring and specific in letting me know about the needs of my 11 year old Maltese. Pain meds and anti inflammatory meds are working well!!! Thank you to the entire staff!❤️

I appreciate the details of everything the doctor told me about my pets. They are on the expensive side and they don't take Care Credit which I don't understand why. Most every other vet I visited accepts Care Credit.

All the employees are exceptionally focused on my pets’ well being. More than once, the office has made arrangements to get our pets in for potentially urgent matters, helping us avoid a trip to the emegency vet and allowing our pet to be cared for by vets and staff who know their health history. The standard of care is excellent.

I had to schedule a full exam for my senior Jack Russell Terrier as my vet at home in AZ needed an exam in order to authorize a refill on her Rx. Even during the pandemic, they were able to squeeze us in and we had a very pleasant visit with the tech and Dr. Brenda Tam. Explained her health very thoroughly and answered all my questions. Very nice to deal with and I'm glad I established Penny as a new patient here.

We recently moved to Orinda and had not found a new vet for our three cats. We called Mt Diablo for an emergency paw situation with our one year old kitty and they took us in right away/same day with a drop off before 9am. This was truly a life saver. We are now moving our three cats to Mt Diablo Vet Medical Center as regular patients. Excellent service, communication, and attention to detail. Our kitty is now back home feeling better! Thank you!
