This is the only place I take my Bulldog! The staff is friendly and caring. The Doctor is great and upfront about treatment and price.

My sister has a cat and left the cat for me to watch when she went on an ocean Cruse. The cat got into a fight one night and got some cuts on his face. I took the cat to Rancho Viejo Animal Hospital to get cleaned up. The employees at the vet hospital were very friendly and compassionate. They got the cat cleaned up so he looked good again. The cost was a little pricey but the cat came out OK .

All doctors & staffs gave me great service & I am very satisfied their service. I am glad to have them as my dog's primary doctor.

Appointments can be scarce to come upon during these times. They promise to have the doctor call and follow up with specifics and it gets lost in the cracks. Understandable... other than that the staff is great, minus having to sit on hold every time I call, and doctors are knowledgeable. Wouldn’t go anywhere else unless they were just as good and closer.

Doctor Alkofer removed a mass on our pups side this past week. Awesome skills...pup doing great. Over a year ago Doctor Alkofer had to remove 5 teeth that were loose. She is the best DMV ever! Knowledge, skills, concern for our pups...5 stars plus 1,000 more!

I would recommend Rancho Viejo Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a great Veterinarian. Dr. Eckstein and her staff take care of your pets like they were their own.

The best Vet EVER! I have been going here since I rescued my Pit from the Animal Control Center in San Bernardino over 2 years ago and even though I moved to Irvine I'll never take him anywhere else. My dog Bruno was a "stray" I was given 0 info on his age, etc, the team at Rancho Viejo helped me find out he had severe ear infections, his sutures from getting fixed were too tight and actually hurting him and poorly done, they helped me narrow down his food allergies, his age, etc. They have done everything in their power to make Bruno feel comfortable and I truly know each staff member loves what they do. Being he is a pit, not everyone is welcoming, regardless of him being such a lovey cuddle bug. It is so refreshing to have such a knowledgeable and willing team. If you are considering a vet, I would't look ANYWHERE else. Truly Dr. E and the whole team are AMAZING! Thank you for always taking care of Bruno as if he was your own, showing him so much love, and making him enjoy the Vet (he used to shake, now he gets so excited to see the team)!

Dr. Eckstein and all of the staff provide such excellent care. I switched 4 years ago and am so glad I did. I felt my last vet was all about the money. Dr. Eckstein examines my dog while I am there and she is very thorough in explaining any issues and the options for treatment. She always follows up. Dr. Alkofer has operated on my dog and she is also caring and wonderful as well.

I've taken my kitten here twice so far, and both times were great. The vet techs were friendly and seemed to love their jobs. The vet was also very friendly and thorough. They explained the bill item by item, which was great. I plan on taking my other cat here for his check ups and vaccines too.

We've been taking our two rescue boxers Lola and Samson to Rancho Viejo Animal Hospital for just over a year now. All of the staff is friendly not only to us but to our babies. The doctor is absolutely fabulous. She cares for our dogs and doesn't try to get us to just spend money on treatment not needed.

We had a great first experience here. All the staff were caring and attentive. Dr. Eckstein caught that my cat had developed a form of melanoma in her eye... something that was missed by another vet. I am grateful to the whole team for the great care we received.

Made a appointment prior to us going there. We got there on time and waited 40 minutes I know I should’ve left and I should have. The doctor gave my dog shots.and let us go after examination. About 10 minutes later once we got home my dog started having a reaction to the shots. Call the doctors office and someone there told me to go to emergency. My dog spent a night emergency pick her up in the morning. Got a hold of the doctor went in there and she stated we usually wait 15 to 20 minutes after the shots. How kind of her to tell me after-the-fact. I’m not gonna say anything bad about the doctor but from the start very unprofessional.

Today was my first visit there for my new puppy. I recommend this vet and their staff because they were amazing! So kind, caring for us, and very professional! They gave me great information about what to do, not what to do. I left reassured that we found a great team! Thank you!

I want to just thank the staff here for being so amazing with our dog Bruno. He is a 1.5-2yr old Rescue from San Bernardino. He was a “stray” he was kind but not taken care of. When we got him from the shelter and their contracted Animal Hospital he had two horrible ear infections. He was shaking constantly, and in so much pain. We came in and they treated him with so much love and compassion. He trusts every individual in that building! They checked him and when it hurt they didn’t push him, they respected him and tried other methods. Bruno was neutered at the other Animal Hospital and we didn’t know but his stitches were tied on so tight that 7 days into healing they were cutting his skin. He began to bleed and swell, we were worried he wasn’t healing well so I called in, they had us text a picture for the Vet to check immediately and they got us an appointment the next day to see him. Thankfully they told us his stitches were too tight and that was it. They always welcome him with open arms and as a “Aggressive” Breed dog owner I’m so thankful. Bruno is the most loving happy dog and they treat him as such. They all adore him and he feels the same towards them. We had some food allergies and the staff worked with us and checked on him constantly. I cannot express enough good things about them. My mother who lives in RSM is now going to change because of the way she saw they treated Bruno. She said she’s never seen a more loving staff. Thank you all so much for all you do! Bruno LOVES you all!

Dr. Eckstein is extremely caring and kind. We have never had such a great vet. The entire staff is attentive, helpful and friendly. Our doggie is getting really great care and we are very grateful. We highly recommend Dr. Eckstein and the entire staff at Rancho Viejo Animal Hospital.

Wonderful office staff, great doc!

My first time there. Appointment was for a certain time but waited an hour after that to get seen. (30 min in front of the desk, 30 more in the back room) Very kind and friendly but never explained why we were waiting so long long until after we asked (emergency in the am sent the schedule out the window - no problem, just tell us). Was treated warmly but not happy with lack of communication during the extended periods of waiting, especially when we can hear the conversation in the adjoining room.

We can only share wonderful reviews about Dr. Eckstein and her staff. Each person in this office has treated our family and our sweet beagle, Sophie, with the utmost of care and compassion. We are so grateful to them for all they have done.

I highly recommend this vet clinic for the excellent and friendly staff, vet assists and doctors. Dr E in particular who cares for my menagerie is extremely knowledgeable, professional and caring.

This place is the best. I have been to so many vets before and I have many family and friends with whom I have met their vets and none of them even come close to this place. Dr. Eckstein is the most experienced and dedicated vet I have ever dealt with. She is very loving towards the animals and sensitive to each individual's needs. She is very thorough with diagnosis and on multiple occasions been able to discover the problem when other vets missed or misdiagnosed. One of the best things about this place is also that Dr. Eckstein and her staff only refer to the best and are quick to get a second opinion if there is even a little uncertainty. My cat was very prone to illness, I believe due to her breed (mixed Manx). The doctor found a tumor on the eyeball under the front eyelid. My past doctor missed it for years. All the specialists I have been referred to end up being 5 stars and 'the best in the area' when I end up Google searching them. I was actually referred to her by a friend with a Bengal kitty who had a rare condition which was found and treated by Dr. Eckstein and her referred specialist. The staff is incredibly caring and treat your 'babies' like the babies they are. They care for your pet as if they were their own and understand the connections we have with them. They are great at communicating and I was even called by them to check in on my cat when she was referred to see how her appointment went and how she is doing. I am very observant and critical with anyone touching my 'children'. I can tell when a vet is seeing 'just another cat' and my cat's reaction to someone who is just making them feel uneasy. So you can trust that I would not take the time to leave this review unless I was 100% sure you will not go wrong with this vet. They build connections and treat the animals as sensitively as if it was your child. They are all definitely crazy pet lovers like us and love their job and the bonds they have with each pet. I would never go to another vet again, especially to a 'chain' vet!

Would not recommend this animal hospital.
